Just enjoy each time that he pays, and thank him for it each time. You can always give little gifts of gratitude, like baking him something. Enjoy how he spoils you and be appreciative of it, and if he’s worried about how it’s affecting his finances, let him tell you that. But he hasn’t voiced any worries about it to you, and he’s enjoying this opportunity to spoil you. It’s often harder to recieve gifts than to give them, but it’s so important that you thank him for every time he pays and recip…

I think expecting him to propose on this vacation was overstepping your boundaries a bit, and he shouldn’t be apologizing this much for it. Apologize to your SO for expecting a proposal right then, and let him know you trust him. Don’t get the friend involved. Your SO will be disappointed if he can’t figure out how to propose to you himself, as it is a very important moment in a relationship. Getting the friend involved signals that you don’t trust him, especially from your close guy friend. he …

It takes time for things to change in a relationship. Stop bossing him around at once, learn the power of STFU, and let things change. Build him up and compliment him. Make him feel respected and trusted. It’s not going to change overnight because you’re used to bossing him around, and he’s used to being told what to do. Be patient and consistent.

You need to let go of him and find someone who is more career-oriented. Family is important, but SAHM is definitely not an option. Your bf is 26 and working (part time!) at McDonalds. You said there is nothing wrong with this, but there definitely is. If he was focused on bettering his life, he would at least be working full time while searching for a better job. If you get finished with your degree, he can at best have an associates degree at this point and still probably won’t be able to suppo…

My parents knew each other in high school, and got married at age 20. They’re in their mid forties now and still a strong couple :) Despite my parents’ success story, I think that you do bring up a good point. In my opinion, you can make a young marriage work, but you have to be with the right person and have a marriage-focused mindset. I’m not married, but I do want to get married young, so I’m taking it rather seriously. I have a “marriage checklist”: a checklist of relationship milestones and…

Hi, I just finished the Surrendered Wife the other day! I try to remember that the little things that I always want to control don’t really matter. For example, if my boyfriend and I are going somewhere and he takes a wrong turn, I’m still relaxed because I know that he is capable of finding his way there. When little things like that go wrong, it can end up being more of an adventure than it would’ve been normally. Giving up control isn’t natural for me and I have to often remind myself to do i…

I was kind of in this situation a couple months ago. I was with a 25 year old who also lived at home, never cooked his own food, etc. I had to beg him to apply for college and try to find a better job (which I’m not proud of, but he wouldn’t do it himself) A guy that isn’t actively working hard on himself, who thinks living at home at 26 is fine, and who isn’t putting in much effort to make you happy (I kind of gleaned that from what you said about the dinners you make for him), is never going t…

You need to remind yourself that you’re not looking for the biggest alpha on the planet. You’re looking for someone you trust to lead you (and your future family) to success and happiness. You keep getting hung up on a guy that treated you like trash. If this is the type of guy you’re attracted to, you need to re-think what you’re looking for. It might also help you to remember that TRP and RPW are totally different schools of thought. They share the basic fundamental concepts, but beyond that t…

I'll definitely try this. We did go on a picnic last week and I brought strawberries as a surprise, but next time I'll try preparing more of the food or the whole thing.

Thanks, I'll definitely do this! You made me realize how important it is to remember that money isn't the only form of appreciation, and there are other, more feminine ways to show appreciation.

Thanks for posting this! I didn’t know how variable attraction and relationship dynamics could be, and this helps me understand why some women in my life are more attracted to lower dominance or higher dominance men than I am.

Since you can’t become more feminine through makeup, you can focus on ways to improve your personality and happiness. 1) Exercise. It’ll make you happier, more confident, and more generally radiant as a person. 2) Be kind to people. I definitely had this problem when I was in high school where I would try to make friends by trying to be cool or follow all the trends. The best way to make friends that last is by being kind, graceful, and giving genuine compliments when you see fit. I think other …

Thanks! Congrats on leaving tumblr yourself. It really is a toxic website and even if you go there without intention of being an SJW, it’s hard to avoid the culture.

Yeah, they wanted me to read some books like The Rational Male and The Surrendered Wife, and just talked to me about the ideology in general. They’re not the most red pill people on the planet, but they just wanted me to learn about it.

This shouldn’t be a problem, at least in the U.S. the HIPAA law prevents anyone from learning this information, including the police. If you tell your therapist the information won’t travel to your GP either, as far as I’m aware. Also, there are many different types of therapists. A lot of them these days work mainly on self esteem and stuff like that, but there are some that work specifically to change behavior. I’m not saying you should right away get a therapist, because each situation is ver…

Work out 5x a week and start a fitness journal. Eat less added sugar and preservatives. Actually use my longboard and learn how to ride it. Start waking up at 5 AM Cook a lot and get better at my cooking skills.

I actually relate a lot to this. I went through a similar situation with a guy I dated for about a year, and just ended it about a week ago. He was a couple years older than me (I’m 20, he’s 25), very sweet, but when it came to his career and hobbies he had very little ambition. He lived at home with parents that still cooked food for him, and had no problem with him living there rent free. The more I learned about him, the more I understood that we simply came from different worlds. I tried my …
