I've found my group through Meetup. I joined the group in 2019 but it took time to get to know people and form a core small group of friends. But now we go to music festivals, dinners, etc and it's been really nice. I also got to know people a lot more by becoming an event organizer a couple months ago.

I've had a lot of success finding groups surrounding a common interest (for me, hiking and being introverted). Also, becoming an event organizer has helped me to form a lot of connections, and just being around people over time helps to form friendships and organic connections. Use discernment when meeting new people, and don't come off with an energy of desperation or needing to prove yourself. Look for people who you naturally click with and reflect on how you feel after interacting with them.

Flashback to my longterm ex who I vividly remember screaming at me that I loved my cat more than him...well, yeah lol. He sued me over custody of my cat (and the other cat) when we broke up, and my grandparents helped me pay lawyer fees so I could keep my cat. Guess who is still with me and is now 10 years old? Hint: my cat. Males are absolutely livid when you love anything more than them, without giving that same devotion in return.

I honestly would, but his fiancée is currently pregnant with my nephew and I don't want him to be all pissy when the baby is about to be here 🙄

Low-key wanting to send this to my LVM brother, who got pissed off when I said that if I get into another relationship, I want a man who's an asset, not a liability.

He got out of my car and his pants fell down and I saw his buttcrack. That was after we'd gone out for Indian food for dinner and he thought good dinner conversation would be telling me about his digestive issues.

I'm having a similar issue with a coworker. I've been shutting my door, have a Do Not Disturb sign, avoid eye contact, don't seek them out, straight up said I'm introverted and work focused and use my time at work to work. They've been bothering my other coworkers more since then, which is still frustrating since I'm friends with all of them and we all vent about it. I did notice that being blunt and direct and not giving room for negotiation worked.

It made me reflect on the red flags I had ignored in previous relationships, how friendships I had at the time weren't serving me/they were massive Pick Me's with proven patterns of being bad friends, and led to me truly examining my upbringing and unhealed traumas in a way I couldn't before. I started on FDS almost a year ago now and my level-up journey and self-esteem growth have been exponential during this time. I've become a much more mature, balanced, kind person because I'm no longer taki…

I say you did the right thing. Meetup groups aren't instant-friends - often, there's weird ass people who join those groups and they have very skewed morals, but they're lonely and want forced socialization. Women can also be oblivious and misogynistic, so a "girl's night out" doesn't guarantee that you have allies. I'm so sorry this happened to you.

The app AllTrails has a feature called Lifeline with their premium subscription that allows you to share your hike, trail, when you start/when you'll be back with as many contacts as you select! I just tried this and my aunt was able to see all of that info and it sent her a confirmation message when I was finished that I was safe.

I'm currently reading "The Testaments," a sequel to "The Handmaid's Tale," and I've found myself pondering the ethics of surrogacy and how that's seen as noble, but Handmaids are seen as horrifying and wrong. It's really the same thing.

That's so true! I think it stems from a fear of feminine power and also a reverence for it, and that scares and intimidates them. They want to be her, fuck her, and control and subjugate her.

I'm clearly very biased here (HUGE Dany fan), but I say Jon Snow is low value. If you look at the comment section of any YouTube clip of GoT, especially between Jon & Dany, there's hordes of LVM defending Jon and bashing Dany, which tells me they see parts of themselves in him and like that he's "one upping" an extremely powerful woman and "putting her in her place." Also, his dumbass got Viserion killed, didn't know how to ride Rhaegal or dragon battle properly, and killed Dany. I'm still confo…

NO. Respond less or stop entirely. If he's too timid to ask you out now, he'd be like that the entire relationship, making you be the man and doing all the work of progressing the relationship.

They're going to do it as soon as possible. I opened up my Bumble range to whole country and have guys asking to FaceTime almost immediately and expressing their intentions of wanting a serious relationship. Now, I definitely am not putting all my eggs in one basket here, but that catches my attention way more than Mr. "Hey" who messages you once a day like a vitamin reminder.

100% factual. I get super sarcastic and say, "Ah yes, let me go to a remote location with a relative stranger who will try to have unsatisfying, mediocre sex with me 🙄" and then block/delete.

Holy fuck my life, you described one of my exes to a T. And yes, I dumped his ass. He's still living in his friend's basement and has gone fully bald in the 2 years since I dumped him. I'm older than him and he looks ten years older than me.

Do you have documentation of his abuse? Build a portfolio that backs his "recognition" of abusing you and provides specific instances, times, dates, witnesses, medical records. Like everyone else has said, lawyer up and lock down all social media, Google searches of your name, invest in protection for your home and yourself/your mom. Have a safe place you can go to if he tries to stalk you or confront in person. This is psychotic, insidious behavior on his part. Consider if you have any offense …

I heard a piece of advice once that went, "You can't set a boundary and coddle someone else's feelings at the same time." There are times where it's healthy, safe and necessary to put your feelings, wants and needs above those of people you date. If you continue dating them even though you're not into it, you're preventing both of you from meeting someone more compatible, and also setting yourself up for more hurt down the road.

Just did this with two guys I had gone on dates with. First one - He wanted me to chase him and would delay text responses for days and then would "apologize." He got really salty and insecure when I mirrored his energy back to him. Blocked, with no explanation. Second one - He started doing the "slow fade" and didn't text all day until 4pm, with some half-assed apology. Wanted me to chase him. I told him I prefer phone calls - he didn't respond to my text but was on Facebook sharing memes. Bloc…

I've stopped taking shit at work and recently set a firm boundary and blocked/deleted a coworker. I ignore people more easily now who only bring nonsense to my life, and have stopped being so anxious if people don't get back to me right away. I walk away easily from people who don't reciprocate my energy. I also have been spoiling myself - shopping, healthy meals, baths, good books, spending time with my pets, upcoming trips with girlfriends to places I've wanted to visit. I say no a lot more an…

My ex was jealous of my cat and said almost the exact same thing about him that yours said about your hamster. He also sued me after we broke up and tried to take my cat from me, claiming he was his. My same cat, now about to be 10 years old, has attacked several guys I've dated and I trust him and his assessments of men more than anyone else. Pets know; trust them.

I had an ex who did this. He's window shopping and fantasizing. You're not the one in the wrong here; he's being disrespectful and not committed to your relationship. Don't let him gaslight you into thinking it's not a big deal.

Not sexist. I'm a high school teacher and have two male colleagues who have a reputation for being creeps with the girls. I tell the kids that if they ever know anything solid, tell me and I will make sure these males experience consequences. One of them, I hung out with outside of work exactly one time when I was new to my job because we are the same age and saw allllll the red flags. He made comments that exhibited racism, homophobia, xenophobia and pedophilia. I ghosted after that and he kept…

Yes girl! I'm doing the same, sitting here reading a book on boundaries and reflecting on the fact that if I were still with my ex today, he'd probably ignore me, cause a huge fight or completely underwhelm me, while triangulating and yelling Bible verses at me and preaching about boundaries while completely disrespecting mine. Thank the LORD I didn't go back after the last time he broke up with me (another manipulation tactic he used).

Know how to physically defend yourself. Get pepper spray, keep a weapon by your bed, think like a predator and how you can prevent an attack. Learn self-defense. Keep yourself fit. Don't be afraid to lift heavy or get "bulky" - men like skinny, frail women because they can overpower them. They're not going to pick a fight as easily with a kickboxer. Don't share where you work or live with strangers. How to break an attacker's nose

That is so scary!! So glad you had the dog with you. Yes, animal instincts are so accurate. Honestly, I'm not really looking to jump into a new relationship right now. Some dates would be nice, so I guess a resolution for that is to practice my vetting skills, conversational skills and being in my feminine energy. If the right person comes along, fantastic.
