Narcissism is a lot more complex than you are making it out to be. Telling people with social anxiety that they have narcissism is really ignorant. Traits are NOT symptoms of a personality disorder. In fact the traits of a narcissistic person can be seen in an anxious person but THE SYMPTOM of those displayed traits can be completely different.

It's completely natural to want to align yourself with the people you are friends with. If they can all drive, it's natural to want a car, learn to drive. If they've all been to Disneyland, it's natural to want to go. It's remaining part of the tribe and being socially accepted into that tribe. That said if you find yourself not wanting to be a part of it, probably best to leave. I was 28, I met someone through a friend and we'd seen each other maybe three times in a fortnight. She more than me …

Escalate to closer intimacy. Rest your head on his shoulder, hug him and then pull away slow enough to be nose to nose, tell him he's got something on his lip and linger your finger them. People go through the same insecurities, there has to be a level of acceptance and trust. We need signals to tell us that our behaviour is OK. And unfortunately thanks to speech we neglect all the other signals we get. So either you give him lots of physical indications or you just have to say it: "I want you t…

First, understand why you want to do this? Whys are very important. If you are doing this because you want to lose your virginity and not be lonely then whatever you are going to do has to be to progress that goal. For example if you want to be less lonely there's no point you supplementing this habit with a lonely activity. If for example you just went for a walk or run by yourself you are still going to feel lonely. So if you can do something that is group based. Second, stop worrying about yo…

The way Strauss describes it in "The Game" RSD is a business pure and simple. They bring out course after course after course, and it's no different to red caps and yellow caps in The Wire. Their customers are essentially the lonely male looking to get laid, or worse the guy who has become so obsessed with pickup that the old tricks don't work and need something new. You're going to get a talk, a Q&A session in an environment where your motivation to try is basically "you've paid to be here" wit…

Your problem is self esteem. You are seeking affirmation from external sources rather from yourself and you are stuck in a cycle of learned helplessness. My recommendation would be quit the whole seduction stuff and go pick up two books The Six Pillars of Self Esteem and Learned Optimism and read them, twice at least. Right now one of your big problems is you are focused on two things that you can't change: your height and the way you look. Leading to the limiting belief that you are not "good e…

Ignoring the texting laws thing all she's expecting is for you to arrange a date. You fucked up by panicking. You could probably salvage the situation by arranging a date. There aren't any texting laws because everyone is different, just don't get hung up on waiting for a response. Texting is very, very, very low level communication is words on a screen and open to interpretation. If you work 9-5 that's half of the day when you probably aren't allowed to/don't have time to respond. You can micro…

Far too many people believe that money is the root of all solutions. If anything this guy should be and could have been a great example to people that money doesn't solve problems, that just because you have connections, just because you can buy expensive clothes, cars and look good (average plus) doesn't mean that you are a) happy, b) successful or c) attractive. That's the the grounding of where pick up begins that whilst money and looks are two factors of attraction they aren't the only facto…

I have no idea how to dance, but this is how I got better. The most awkward bit of dancing I find is what to do with your feet. In terms of foot co-ordiantion you probably do very little with your feet other than walking. So the easiest thing to do with your feet is to learn to two step. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yca6UsllwYs Open that link up it's Around the World by Daft Punk, it's around 120 BPM and in 4/4 which is practically every song in the world. Here's why I don't like these articles/videos/topics. First "Top 10", there are a million mistakes you can make with women, okay some are less likely than others to occur. Even if this video was perfect and just by watching it, it somehow eradicated these top 10 problems from you... then number 11 becomes your number one problem, then twelve, thirteen etc. Ranking and ordering your problems does nothing to solve them particularly if that ordering and ranking is by frequency. Second "10". The hum…

Everyone in the community has different priorities. Some guys literally just want to find a girl and settle down with the perfect dream girl. Some guys want to pimp it hard and fast every night and bang bitches. Some guys just want to feel confident around women, before they even think about escalation. Seduction isn't like a platform where everyone stands shoulder to shoulder as equals. It's a mountain with rest stops and people struggling with footholds.

What are your passions and hobbies? Try and find a way of getting them into conversation. I'm a musician so I drop things like: "I was at my piano lesson yesterday and [insert anecdote]". As long as your anecdote can be related to outside of your passion and you can re-tell that story you'll be investing in the conversation. It's sort of a co-operative tug of war, trying to keep the tension on the rope. So the more you can add to energy of the conversation the better the conversation will be. If…

Approach more. That is genuinely a good tactic for overcoming any self central sticking point. The problem is you become too focussed on yourself, so the best way out of that moment of focussing within is to focus outward. Chin up, approach.

This theory is almost as good as 10 Things Every Man Should Do At Twenty. OK so let's say that confidence trumps arrogance every single time. What now? Do I stop doing all the things on the right hand side and only focus on the left? Where is the actual resultant data and proven practice of this theory? What do you define as arrogance and confidence? This is piss poor advice and the main reason so many newbies stagnate in their first year. Rather than telling people: "you are behaving wrong and …

I'm only decent at situations where I'm in a bar, relatively tipsy, and I'm able to talk to a (lone) girl, and make good first impressions. This is your sticking point right here. Not the whole sentence but "I am only decent." Reframe that right there to "I am decent at..." That's your first step. If you precondition yourself that you can only approach women in certain situations you will never approach. This is a little lack of experience and does not need a lot of theory to fix it. If your ver…

The most important tool you need when starting out is to not read any theory. None. Any theory you read is going to upset your starting point. If you decide you want to get into pick up or seduction, you need to know where you stand. You need to go out often enough (once a week minimum) and interact with people directly. By doing that rather than focusing on IOIs, AA etc. you will build a more natural approach to game and seduction. People on the community talk about how you should be 60/40 or 8…

Think: James Bond Ugh. James Bond is one of the worst role models for men for the simple reason he is a fictional fantasy. It's akin to telling women to be like Lara Croft. Also why is the use of alpha/beta still preferable? Why is micro-management of yourself in long text posts considered good advice, compared to a short simple post about one area of self improvement? There's a lot of good ideas and theory in that post, but that's the problem: alot. It is only going to take a few minutes for a …

It was one or the other. she might even touch me. Then we see each other again, but this time she is not interested at all. She even acts distant. You've got a girl testing the waters, she's trying to give you a sign that this could be more than conversation if you wanted it to be. The fact you don't reciprocate back or even acknowledge this action has put her off. I try and use kino with escalation, because people tend to read kino as "must grope and fondle". I'd take a guess and say that it's probably because you aren't as relaxed and laid back. I'm not a wild advocate of this but I would suggest something that helps you clear your head when you are sober: something like meditation or running. Anything that takes away that churning mental process and allows you to settle into that state. You've got the right idea you just need to mantra it up a bit so it becomes part of yourself rather than something that slips out when you're, as you put it, dizzy.

Rejection is just being wrong. And wrong is the only step to learning. Approach anxiety is the biggest problem with human beings because we're all horrible, nasty, venomous creature that bite people's heads off and suck the juices out of people... which is crap, an exaggeration but it's crap. So people turn to pick up and its like "wow there's this actual term for it called AA" and then people start reading about opening. Easy way to do this: learn to make people feel comfortable, if they feel that they can trust you they'll relax and if they relax more they'll be more willing to escalate. Everyone has a bad experience when it comes to seduction, sex and dating. Every human being is waiting for the other shoe to drop and everything to go wrong. If you can be genuine and comfortable yourself, they'll mimic you.

Invest yourself in the conversation, people love to talk about themselves as you probably know but most of the time they won't tell you the little things. Look for secret keeping within stories, people will gloss over parts of information that they think is boring on irrelevant. If you can pick out something that you're interested in or something that sounds intriguing invest in the conversation with a question or two. A good way to practice this is do watch some interviews and chat shows and wa…

You shouldn't look for IOIs, despite the name they aren't generally a good sign of interest. It started a nice set of self grooming techniques that women perform when they see someone they like, but then the list got added to and essentially what you have is a list of "generic female behaviours". Being selective in your approaches isn't going to help either. If you are just going up to the guys that look at you it's a case of "oh she's talking to me because I looked at her when really I thought …

What you're more than likely going to get here is the same response if a guy asked a girl "so what should I do to attract women". Most guys here are likely here because they have poor experience with women and tend not to be able to read them well. Similar to what I said to ImJustAMan below, if you can use those kind of techniques and they work for you that's great use them. But most people can't and shouldn't use them. It's a bit like facial hair, if you've got the face and head shape for a beard; grow one. If you haven't; don't. Realise what you have to work with and refine those tools instead of trying to add a whole new set to your repertoire.

Morning! Changing voices is a good technique for story telling but if you are trying to get to grips with keeping a story interesting I would advise staying clear of it until you can nail some of the basic techniques down. If you try and add too much performance wise to your stories then what you say starts to lose importance. Keep it simple at first and then build on techniques that work for you; so if you can't do semi-accurate impressions, don't do them :)

A bad thing. There was a painful three minutes of explanation of exactly where this place was. It's a pet peeve of mine, but if you want to tell a story don't start off with a question you are delaying and building up something that could be mediocre. The less you can demand of your audience at the beginning the easier the ride through your story will be.

Not that I know of. I'm a behaviourist so I have a compulsion to say "you'd be better of putting the ideal in to practice". What you're looking for is affirmation that what you have done is right and a good thing. It's a common human thing to expect rewards for good behaviour and punishment for bad behaviour. Coincidence yes, but the idea of nice over kind isn't an original idea. None of the word pairs I'll be breaking down are original thoughts of my own, they are the result of reading comments on forums and threads for the last three or so years. And putting them into practice for the last year or so.

You can acknowledge and reply to someone talking without actually adding your own in put to the conversation. There's probably an official term but I refer to it as parrot talking where you rehash what they say back to them. I've had people say things like "he just never listens to me" and reply back with "yeh he just needs to listen to you more". You're technically not adding to the conversation but you are keeping the flow going.

I would say don't feel the need to fill a silence. Learn to ride pauses, one thing women seem to have a grasp of is not saying anything and letting men ramble on pointlessly. Some people would probably call that a shit-test if so it's the silent shit-test. This goes with ruining the mood, sometimes there is a moment when a joke goes too far or you get the wrong end of something. I think you can approach without an agenda but only as long as you can escalate well after the initial approach. I would say that approaching cold as a beginner or someone with AA is better than approaching in full red blooded alpha male mode. But yes definitely don't close doors on approach.

Yeh I'm hardly telling people stuff they didn't already know, but I think it helps in a community to get the basics out there especially when it comes to the semantics of "nice guys". Over the years I've found a lot of people point out these differences but I've never seen it documented. There's plenty of documentation on advanced stuff like shit tests, routines, IOIs but the fundamentals of seduction (which I feel are the key differences between these word pairs) are fairly crucial to anyone wh…

Seduction is anything but static. If you barely scrape the surface then seduction is like any self help community out there, but if you get deep down into it seduction is the male negotiation team helping out with the hostile hostage situations in the female world. Every self help community encourages, reminds and reassures in very different ways. It's all about making the internal better and ridding yourself of external poison. Now I'd agree that there is internal poison, and I'd agree that fit…

Well hold on there just a second. I hate pigeon-holing but I would say that you can put most people into three categories: the people that don't know what they are doing, the people that know what they are doing and the people who do what everyone else is doing. You can apply these three categories to any action in any walk of life. I would say the vast majority of women out there are not evil, or manipulative or deliberately playing games with men.
