Had a friend like that. She always went on and on and on about every detail of her job (even though some of these stories were rather boring) and I supported her, cheered for her, etc. Whenever something good happened to me in my job... she didn't care. The last straw was when we bought a house and everyone came to visit (during covid, so one friend per week) and she had no interest at all. No question to the where, how does it look, etc.

With the only difference that some men might still use them for sex, so they get nowhere, get used and loathe themselves for it while still preachibg sex positivity.

When my playful little kitten is capable of understanding not to really scratch or bite me, you should think thst a grown up man might be able to know not to bite someone that hard?!

Why, why, why has it become the norm for women to just accept to get hurt and degraded during sex?! He needs to spit in her mouth to get off or to choke her? That's deeply disturbing! And why is it socially less acceptable to kinkshame than to insist that you don't want to get abused during sex?! It's so sick and I am glad that when I was in my teens and twens porn had not infiltrated sex life in that way. I am so scared for every young women, who gets coerced to accept stuff like that.

I did not mean to excuse such shitty behaviour by women in any way. And it definitly is shitty begaviour that everyone woman be ashamed of. I just wanted to give a view on the explanation I read.

There is a german book about it called: Es kann nur eine geben. There can be only one. Because if cultural misogyny women have to fight to achieve their goals and when they are established at their job or whatever when another woman appears they are put under enormous pressure, compared all the time, etc. The author, a german comedian Caroline Kebekus, has expressed it all way better and I cannot recall half of it. But it is a great book. I recall a passage about the book Pippi Longstockings, wh…

There is no way in hell a toddler ruined not just one but three make up palettes while he took a shower. The damage in the picture will have taken some time. Besides how should the toddler be able to easily open the palettes?

I was just astonished because I have (luckily) never met this special social expectation. The only time I have ever fixed a plate for someone was at a buffet with my grandma in a wheelchair.

Men's biggest fear is being laughed at by the woman they ask out. We fear rape, murder and apparently being doused in acid for telling them that we are not interested.

Yep, the wannabes. A few years back I went to a lot of Hot Iron classes and the trainer always recommended a weight for male and female beginners. Every women tried the recommended weight. The men? Non of them. They took a look around, noticed that some women had more weight than they did and felt the urge to take the higher one too. Which was of course too much, but they still insisted to go on.

It definitly is misogyny with a hint of mansplaining. I had an acquaintance at college who once told me why every single one of my hobbies is no hobby at all and that only artsy stuff like his photography (women in skimpy clothes) would count as a hobby. Horse riding, fitness, hiking, interest in music (without playing an instrument), reading? Boring, sports don't count as a hobby. Why? Because he says so. He was such an arrogant guy... The society has such a misogynistic view on women, that women try to show that they stand out from the mass of 'evil backstabbing bitchy women'. Everyone of uf always gets confronted with those stereotypes in movies, books, etc. And then they are scared to demand anything or have any standart at all, because they don't want to be one of THOSE women.

If you get the feeling that a woman might not feel safe, you have to intervene. A few years back my husband and I got off the subway with a girl who was perhaps 20 or something because a group of boys had made her uncomfortable and from their talk it was obvious they wanted to take the same bus as her. I am lost for words for his idea to put this poor horse down because it is such a horrendous thought. She should have ditched him the second he told her she needed to prioritise their relationship. A horse is a huge responsibility and it takes a lot of time to care for one. He is not willing to accept that. Besides he seems to be jealous of the time she spends with Lady. Which makes him seem like one of these guys that later in life is jealous of the time she soends with their baby.

Men with anger issues are the scariest thing in the world. You'll never know when they snap, completely unpredictable. During college we met at the appartement of a friend before a party. Because even the most beautiful women had men negging her and trying to undermine their self-esteem. Everyone feels entitled to criticize any woman for doing whatever she does. That is something men never experience. They always whine how life is so much easier to women, yet ignore what every single one of us go through. Besides they are told it's okay to go for a body type (bIoLoGy), while society pressures women to give the guy a chance since he is such a nice guy. Hollywood supports this narr…

In college two friends and me broke up with a pick me friend. It was a real break up, with a fight, tears, etc. But she became unbearable. For two years all she could talk about were the guys she was flirting/sleeping with and whining that she was not in a relationship. This is such an important comment! If you get seriously ill, you are dependent on help of your partner and family! My mom got cancer two years ago. When I drove to work today the radio played a new german popsong called 110 (emergency hotline like 911). It made me so furious! The song was about a couple who fights a lot, obviously screams a lot, because their neighbour is calling the police when they fight. Yet the singer romanticizes everything that is happening, singing about how much they love each other, what a great relationship they have, yet they hurt each other (in which way is not told). And they break up, but regret it every time.…

I don't like the way you are labelling woman as cool girl pick me's because they are not interested in feminine stuff. Just the fact that somebody likes beer and is not interested in makeup does not make them a pick me. If they are doing it for make validation, yes. But I thought that by this point here we would be allowed to do what we want for us and enjoy the things we like without getting labelled.

How can something as sociopathic get awards and upvotes? It's really sick and disgusting and I don't have wirds to describe how disturbing that is. He enjoys the annihilation of a woman's life who is slowly forgotten and only remembered vy her grieving friends and enjoys to think of her painful end? That's a new low. We really are no human beings to them, or something like that would never get awards or any attention beside getting banned immediately

They enjoy to belittle our hobbies. I once had a conversation with a guy from my university (we met on the train and at the time I was too nice and polite to go on reading and instead talked to him). He told me something about photography and then asked for my hobbies. I told him that I was a horsewoman, enjoyed fitness, hiking, etc. He: that's just sport, I asked about your hobbies. So obviously his definition of a hobby was anything 'artsy' and anything I did was just stupid sport.

It might be that she is not an only child and they don't want to gift her something that valuable because they could not afford to give something to the other kids. I'm glad that you looked out for her. A friend of mine once collapsed at the toilette of a bar after having taken two sips of her drink (we were sitting at a table, the drink was brought by the waiter). Yes, I know that men tend to avoid health care like the plague. Yet your first question makes me touchy again. Migraine is a chronic illness, by asking questions like this, you're implying that the person suffering from migraine is not doing enough, so it's her own fault if the migraines kick in. People with chronic illnesses face a lot of prejudices and get loads of well meant advise. I visit a neurologist every 3 to 6 months, so I have tried a lot, including botox.

Certainly, but I still have to cancel a lot of stuff due to migraines. I'm just super touchy, because most people do not know that migraine is a serious illness and not just some headaches you could easily avoid. And that there is no cure even if you visit doctors.

Since I suffer from migraines too, I just want to clarify that they cannot be avoided even if you're visiting the right doctors. There's no cure for migraines. Yet with the right meds and knowledge about your triggers it might get better.

Women not only risk to be called a sl*t or similar if they have sex with many men. To decide to have sex with a man is for women to take the risk of trusting a man with their lives. He might decide to rape you if you change your mind about something or don't comply his every need, he might choke or hit you which could result in your de…

My brother and I were raised the same way and had the same chores luckily. Yet whenever I am at a dinner party or similar, when everyone has finished eating, every time all the eomen rause and help clean up the dishes while most men stay put and go on talking. It's so infuriating! My father always helped cleaning up, he even insists that my mother stays at the table to talk or whatever. Why are there still so many men who consider cleaning up a woman task?

Yeah, a really sad story. The worst is that the NVX managed to leave the country and did not get punished at all. I get so sick from society blaming women for anything that happened. When I was at college there was a girl who got murdered in her dorm from her ex boyfriend. Still many men (and women) feel entitled to tell you to change yourself because of what men expect from women. My example for this is always short hair in women. Did you see the post yesterday written by a woman in Khabul? She described how she and the other women left their workplaces saying goodbye forever and walking home scared to death. And there were men cheering on the streets and enjoying how scared these women were. What is wrong with men who enjoy the fear and the degradation of women?

In defense for the pickmeishas in this special case, there are great differences with the whole engagement ring storys and how expensive a ring should be worldwide. Please don't downvote directly, but hear me out. In Europe, at least in Germany, there has never been this norm, that an engagement ring should be 3 months salary. Most people I know have engagement rings significantly less expensive, which might be linked up to the fact, that you get a new wedding ring at the wedding. Most women onl…

I get so heartbroken from posts like this. My mum has cancer too and my father is as supportive as a human being can be. She suffered a lot during the treatment and at one point was so weak she nearly slept all the time. My father fought all those battles with the insurance company, etc, for her, because she just could not do anything by herself. If I imagine he would have left her at her most vulnerable time... I don't think she would have survived a break up in addition to all this crap. Still…

We have a joint account and both of us an account of our own. Even before knowing FDS, tjis just felt safer to me. Might be because my uncle proved to be a total jerk during the divorce from hus exwife (in the following aunt, I love her very much and our whole family has more contact to her than to my stupid uncle). They were married and build a house but due to her pregnancy she wasn't able to accompany him to talk to the bank and the attesting notary. And he never enlisted her in the register,…

This strongly reminds of a product from a show in Germany for start ups. Their product was called pinky glove invented by two guys. It's basically one (or two?) Pink gloves for changing your pad or tampon and to roll it up in the glove. In case there is no bin and they propose that you could put the wrapped up pad in your purse🤢 There was a huge shit storm and they stopped producing the glove, even though they had got a deal at the show.

Not from a date, but my most wtf moment was my new boss at my first day at work: "I don't know why so many women take the trouble to study at university, they'll stay at home anyway once the kids are born." Definitly the weirdest thing to tell a young woman on her first day... I was kind of glad, that he retired a week later.

They think they have won because men don't report abuse, so they can just flat out ignore the fact, that many if not most women do not report abuse too. So whatever statistic you name, there is always a higher unknown number of abused guys, who just have not reported their abuse. Because it is so much harder for men... /s

The best example is at dinner partys with friends. After dinner when the host gets up to clean up, most of the time every woman instantly rises and helps cleaning the table. While most of the men just stay put and go on talking.

My first post here. I don't know if there are many germans here, but there might be similar organisations in your home country! In my opinion this is a problem for many men. My husband often has to accept insulting jokes from jerks since I have a "better" job and earn more money tham him. I hate this stuff too. Since I'm short myself I also notice how desperate many small men behave. As a short woman I can notice these short men often scanning the crowd at partys and then following any woman as short as them. Once I told this to my sister in law, who is about 1,80m, and pointed a man out who behaved like this. And added that he does not notice me since I was wearing high heels. I don't understand the obsession some men have with long hair. I switch a lot between longer (just slightly above my shoulders) and shorter (around chin length) hair. Every time my hair is shorter there are men who feel entitled to comment stuff like: men prefer long hair. And the worst is the way they say it. Like they are giving me advise how to attract men. It is the rudest and most hurtful question you can ask. What are the possible answers? Either you don't want children (or just not yet), which is a personal choice and absolutely your own decision. Or you are trying to get pregnant/had a miscariage. My sister in law was asked this question at a family gathering after her third miscariage and she was so hurt. I don't get why anybody could ever think of asking this! What kind of answer do they expect? I get angry just thinking about it.

It's way worse, there is a rule what women are allowed to wear in beach handball and volleyball. And they are just allowed to wear a bikini bottom. A bikini bottom! This so much. I had this reaction a lot when I was using the subway as a teen and strange men started to talk to me (ignoring my headphones and the book I was reading). When I told them, I am not interested. They always answered: i just want to talk. To which I replied, that I am not interested in talking either. Most men got mad, said I was rude and stuff like: you don't know me, how do you know you don't want to talk to me and so on.

Everytime I see a video like this, it is from the first seconds obvious that the woman does not want this proposal and is clearly uncomfortable. Still the men always go on with their proposal insteadt of noticing her reaction. You should think that they would stop publicly announcing their love when it makes their partner uncomfortable. But they do just not care about her or are not able to read her obvious actions. Both should be red flags, so she is the one who really dodged a bullet.

I really don't understand the justice system in the US. I am working at court in Germany and when anybody has issues with their legal custodian (right word?) the person would at least be removed. It's all so weird that her father can just keep exploiting her. Besides she is or was still working a lot, which is kind of weird when she is considered too unstable to manage her own life?

This is so important! A friend of mine married her nvm boyfriend who cheated and turned it all around and made her believe it was her fault he cheated. Like she somehow made him fuck this other woman. I am still infuriated that she believed him and took the blame

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
