Wrote this somewhere else: The term fake news is, unfortunately, wrong. It's not that the news are fake or made up (in some cases they are) it's the spin, the obfuscation, the bias, the manipulation of actual facts to make one narrative more powerful than others. We need a better term, without claiming that it's actually fake, but it's incomplete, manipulative and biased.

Yes, it's true. Women are the one that suffer most in wars. They lose their husbands, their livelihood, their hopes, and they have to start working for a living. Men in wars, they just die.

"I detected little ambition in the sex previously known for professional ambition — men. But no one should be surprised. Many young men have been coddled by parents and by society. If you receive a trophy just for playing, why try to win? If self-esteem is given to you without having to earn it, why try to earn it? If the government will take care of you, why work hard? Anyway, ambition in men is probably now considered a form of "toxic masculinity". Perhaps most importantly, young men have been…

I am from Edmonton too, and I was looking for a bike shop to make some modifications and add some parts. I know a place where I am not going to shop.

Is this the Sobey's on Ellerslie and 111/James Mowatt? I always park on this spot when I am with my son, I was wondering if someone would complain with me. Much better on Save on Foods where is Parent Parking.

Probably she was trying to escape from some abusive relationship, at the same time she was trying to stick in the patriarchy's ass. She showed what an independent woman is capable of. You go girl. /s

Work in a similar environment, 5 men for 30 women, including the bosses. I talk about work in the middle of the room, I am disturbing their work routine, they joke and gossip in the same spot, and I am not able to complain or do anything about it. But hey, their work is great, they are special flowers/snowflakes and we need more women in Science.

I am very sorry to what happened and is happening to you. The worst part was seeing the pictures and how your son loves you. No one deserves to grow up with someone that doesn't love you. I wish you luck and strength to fight and overcome this.

That's why I lump these with lies. There are no boundaries, no definitions, no "science" behind these "facts", and even less hard "facts". And this is one the largest newspapers in Canada.

It was in Ontario and my son is 3 and 1/2. My wife took 6 months and I got 22 weeks, with full pay with my employer coverring the difference from EI instalments. We had the maximum EI benefit at the time.

The take home might be: if there are identical products marketed to men and women separately, just buy the cheaper one. Like shaving products, they work the same and maybe more expensive if they come in pink. But that is something a woman blinded by "feminism" might not be able to see.

A time will come when every men would have to wear a "dashboard" camera to avoid being arrested, prosecuted, defamed, etc. Just like cops in some cities. This will be the only way to avoid false claims and accusations. Sad, but getting close to be true.

Technically, she used self-defence against the boyfriend. We can speculate on the type of defence she used and if it was appropriate or not, but in the end it seems (from the article, at least) that he started. You can also claim that both are victims and perpetrators, but I am not a lawyer.

I lived in Kingston for a number of years, worked part-time at Queen's, and the worst thing I have seen at the University was when the principal decided not to apologize to a lecturer that was considered as anti-semitic and sexist in class. A real class act.

Yes, but it was finally on Brazil's Supreme Court that the case was decided in favour of the father. Most lower court instances were in favour if the mother's family. This story divided the public opinion in Brazil and the mother's family used all they influence to stay with the boy. One big problem is that there are too many court instances in Brazil and the possibility of recourses is close to infinite. The mother's family was counting on the fact that it would take years to solve this and the…

It was a very sad story to the dad, specially with Brazilian courts siding with the woman's family. Until the higher court decided in the name of the father.
