Use your smiles selectively, as a reward. This is what I try to do. And I'll try to smirk, rather than show teeth.

Have either of you guys seen "Fight Club"? Also, women like tall muscular men, nice clothes can't compete with that.

I didn't think of that - perhaps dad was already irritated because of a recent shit-testing from mom? (who was not present when this incident happened)

Yea, just saying "don't call your mom stupid" would have been all that was needed. Good points on #2 also.

For #3 yea it is tricky, kids are always trying to play parents off against each other to get what they want. I don't know if that's what was happening here.

Ian, thanks I think this is the post that best gets the point across to me. Yea, I was captain of my own little racing boat. I took on a female passenger and was totally unprepared for everything that would turn it into a high maintenance house boat. Hopefully with my girls going off to college I can get back to my racing boat again. I don't have to have an EQUAL life with anyone. Like Tesla.

I wish it were as Simple As That. If I could rewrite my original post, I should have mentioned that I'm having strong MGTOW sentiments lately. I also should have mentioned that the only cure for BPD is getting out. But what if I get out? What's next? Do I really want another mariage with all the potential problems? Might I be better off with the energies that go into being EQUAL with another woman be better spent elsewhere?

I let go of the military shit and saw your line about walking the plank, and the light bulb came on Pirate Ship Marriage in many ways is like a pirate ship. There is no network organization like a navy to enforce rules. Each ship (family) is a privateer entity and leadership is ultimately determined very directly. I found this link which describes Pirate ranking http://pirates.hegewisch.net/capcrew.html The wife is more like a Quartermaster. And modern marriage is like a pirate ship with a satte…

One way it's actively fighting against us is the ongoing wisdom of things like "a woman is allowed to change her mind". Why do I want to be EQUAL with that? Why do I want to be equal with someone for whom it's socially acceptable to waffle?

There have been a few times I've been stern with her, and she'll gossip it to her friends, several of whom act very entitled and have beta husbands, who will tell her that they would "never stand for that". Why do I even need mental games like that in my life to interfere with my productivity? (yea, edits)

The term "Captain" is used in other branches of the Military and there is usually a second in command. Captains in the military don't have to "build into your boat" anything. It's was already there. Modern marriage doesn't have that. In the military, if second in command tries to usurp the Captain, there is structure and protocol in place to deal with it. In marriage, second in command usurping the Captain will actually get HELP from "team womyn" to support the usurption.

Is there a blood test she can take to unequivically show what her hormone levels are? Instead of guessing, can't we just see something in black and white?

make it unequivocally clear to her that you are prepared to leave her if things don't improve And in this case, "prepared" means letting her know that you have "literally prepared" for it by consulting with a lawyer? Just grab your wallet and keys, and walk out the door without saying a word. Come back hours later What if the meltdown occurs very late at night? Are there legal ramifications (spousal abandonment?) by driving off for a few hours after 10 or 11pm and coming back at 2 or 3am?

(Coming out of lurk mode) Last summer I read a book called "Walking on Eggshells" and came to the conclusion that my wife is in the grey edges of BPD. Maybe not full blown, but enough. She's been like this for years, I'm just glad I now have a name for it. She exhibits many traits, and months ago when I kicked up my self improvement red-pill style she went nuts with suspicions. At some point one has to realize that holding frame and being a captain (been there done that) may not be enough, or th…
