You could say the current wave of feminism started with Anita Sarkeesian back in 2013-2014. She's almost the definition of a bad actor, and look how things turned out for her and her cause. So no. It's about the institutional power. 10 years ago if someone copied her talking points to someone normal, they'd get a look like they were from Mars or an eye roll. Same thing if somebody starts quoting the Tate brothers or a similar "bad actor."

Is the LGBTQ question the only thing you think you disagree with conservatives on? If so, conservatives don't have an issue with them as long as they're not trying to get into bathrooms or women's sports, or teaching it in schools. We don't really mind if they "exist" or not. I think they prefer the illusion of meaningful work. Talk to them about what a meaningful job would be and it's just a desk job where they send emails back and fourth all day (they're doing their best impression of a man from the 90s).

I think once they got what they want ("equal" pay, "equal" academic placement, etc), it became a mask off moment. Gen Z women either are or will be very soon out earning men, female graduates will soon outnumber men by 2:1. Straight up, if they were to make a sequel to that dumbass show they funded (Adolescence I think) and instead of it being a dramatization on how awful young white men are, it was about how awful young white men were treated in just the few years before and of its release, it would go a surprisingly long way. I think a lot of men just want to see a mea culpa. It wouldn't change many minds, but you would get some of their respect back, which is what you need in the first place to change their mind

I just sort of look at it in the way that the culture's moving in that men will eventually be valued properly again so at least the next generation of men won't have our problems (or at the very least they won't be as bad). For me though, I'm boned. It sucks, and there are things that all of us could be doing to at least improve our personal situation marginally, but I just try to keep what I mentioned above in mind so I don't go too far off the reservation.

Don't have many recommendations unfortunately, but I'll have the same thought whenever I decide to get back into horror films and will be scrolling for something to watch, but I just remember that for that specific example (horror films), the Final Girl is one of the genre's oldest tropes.
