It's highly unlikely, ergo it's highly likely it was a comment which earned them the ban.

"Didn't know Miley Cyrus was a fan." Unless the mods are big Miley fans, I doubt it was that comment which earned the ban.

Okay I see the confusion. He used your prior discussion as a springboard to frame his premise: No shit we are different mentally! There are a bunch of fucking apologist in the MRM, they are toxic to the movement and should be avoided! That's the part which I was arguing against.

You were talking about an argument I had with someone in another thread where I was apparently "reinforcing gender roles" No we weren't.

It's entirely related. I happen to agree that men and women tend to exhibit different behaviour on average. But there are still a hell of a lot of effeminate men out there who like to do effeminate things. Or who want to be stay-at-home dads. Or who want to be caregivers or nurses. Telling them they're wrong for being effeminate isn't helping anyone. TheFireMachine called people who point out that effeminate men exist and should not be discounted "toxic". I strongly disagree with that. Using bla…

There are no problems acknowledging that gender roles exist. It's when you encourage others to conform that it becomes a problem. If that's not what you're doing then I apologize for misinterpreting. There are a lot of traditionalists on /r/MensRights, and they strongly support the nuclear family model, and are resistant to changing that.
/r/MensRights11/10/13 10:35 PM

Men's rights isn't about promoting gender roles. If that's what you think it is, you're toxic and you should leave. Men's rights is about removing gender roles. So that men who want to take care of their children are free to do so without fear of being labelled a pedophile. Without fear of being accused of rape and having their child removed from them by a judge. If you want to live a 1950s nuclear family, go forth and do so, just don't tell other men that that is the only way they may live. The…

Haha yes. Proponents of any ideology always dismiss examples to the contrary. For example, libertarians will claim America doesn't have "real" capitalism, and the lawlessness in Somalia is totally different to lawlessness elsewhere for reasons.
/r/MensRights11/10/13 08:27 PM

As with any political ideology taken to its conclusion it is unsustainable in the real world.

If you keep it up, of course. There's no reason to lower yourself to get your point across. It reflects badly on everyone. I don't care if you want to be a disagreeable ass. Just do it without words like "kike".

I can tell you for sure that the comment above is not the reason they were banned. When a shadow ban happens all future comments by the user are automatically removed. Unfortunately they also remove the ability to go back through the user's comment history. So we can't tell if it was for posting child porn, or if they just annoyed the wrong admin. Lately bitcrunch has informed us that there is a bot which bans people for brigading. So if you follow a link to another subreddit, don't vote. Of cou…

An admin (NOT A MEN'S RIGHT'S MOD. REPEAT: NOT A MEN'S RIGHTS MOD. ONE MORE TIME, NOT A MEN'S RIGHTS MOD) has banned your account. None of your comments will display from now on as a result. Would you please enquire as to the reason and let us know?

I would like to know why you banned him from that sub He was not just banned from this sub. He was banned from all of Reddit. I doubt you'll receive in apology, but the application of non-existent rules clearly does warrant one.
/r/MensRights24/09/13 01:11 AM

Then please do so. The last conversation I had with bitcrunch was about banning my account and other users for linking to investigative journalism. Yishan, Reddit CEO, is on the record as saying investigative journalism will not be banned. I explained that to a user and was banned. Upon asking for a concrete set of guidelines so that we can disseminate, she ignored me.
/r/MensRights24/09/13 01:09 AM

Fix it. I don't think you understand how Reddit works. Mods have zero purview over the actions of admins. We control certain functions within our own subreddit. Admins have higher control over the whole of Reddit. The only people who can request details on the admins' bans are the users themselves, which is why I suggested Max do just that. We also have a big problem with what has been happening lately, but we have no control over it.

I don't believe that post was the reason for the ban. We aren't given that info. All we see is that that user's comments are all automatically removed, and we have to approve them. /r/MensRights09/09/13 12:43 AM

Are we talking about statistical averages or individuals? I know plenty of single parents who are very well paid. If we're discounting those parents then I've gotta say, telling them their hard work is meaningless because there are deadbeats out there seems dismissive.
/r/MensRights09/09/13 12:29 AM
1

I think technology has earned us considerably more excess than nuclear families have. Besides which this kind of presupposes that same sex couples or single parent families can't be productive in society, which we know to be false.
/r/MensRights08/09/13 09:30 PM
8

Gender roles did exist for thousands of years for a reason - they were essential for survival. Times changed. They're no longer essential. You could make arguments about them being efficient (and the nuclear family really is very efficient), but that doesn't mean it's the only viable configuration anymore. You're free to enjoy the 50s nuclear model; but we would like men to feel free to shake that up. I fully support men who want to be stay at home dads; or nurses; or teachers. I support effemin…

You may not have been around for the Truthman debacle. /r/WhiteRights, along with a group of traditionalists (I believe they've taken up residence in /r/RedPill now), invaded pretty hard. There are arguments in meta with hundreds of children over bans and whether their content was suitable for this subreddit. At one point there were new threads every day. We stuck to our guns and they seemed to give up. What you're seeing now is nothing to worry about.
/r/MensRights07/09/13 01:54 AM

Agreed. I've removed this. This is posted by a throw-away with a one month old account and a few posts in /r/Portland so this submission wouldn't be automatically spam filtered here. Consider this a warning to any other /r/WhiteRights users. This subreddit is not a soapbox for your cause.

When we decide what constitutes a troll we look at their posting history. New accounts and accounts with negative karma (or some novelty accounts) usually get canned. This account is six months old with positive karma. They generally make reasonable (albeit often inflammable) comments across a variety of subreddits. This isn't a troll, and labelling people we disagree with as trolls is something we've never done and will never do. The feminists do that, and we want to set a better example.

Some interesting points lost in stuff like this: feminism is also in its depths a creation of the Jew. I'm also not a fan of the promotion of gender roles. I think the nuclear family is fantastic, but I support men who want to break out of that and pursue their own lives a different way.

It's tough now but I think your attitude will change in time. You learned a valuable lesson: everyone is fallible - even you. Most guys have to go through this at one time or another, and I hope that fact gives you some solidarity at least. You may never meet someone who you feel you can fully trust and want to begin a relationship with, and that's perfectly fine. Men have all this social pressure to settle down and start a family. Fuck that. Do what makes you happy.
/r/MensRights20/08/13 10:46 PM

That was two years ago. They've since appointed SRS mods and have begun moderating in a similar fashion. Anyone saying things like "paternity testing should be mandatory" get banned without a warning. TwoXC is just an echo chamber now. A shell of its former self. But hey, at least the women feel "safe" now.

I didn't mean to imply that all our users are legal scholars. Merely that, to my knowledge, all the areas OP touched on are generally well-established and understood here.

Forgive me, but I was under the impression most of our members were quite knowledgeable on prenuptial agreements already. The area where we tend to focus on is this: it must be executed voluntarily and not under duress or on the eve of wedding I recall one example where a judge ruled that simply stating "I will not marry you unless we have a prenup" was considered a form of duress. Pregnant? Duress. "Didn't understand" the agreement? Nullified. We are of the opinion that these agreements are all…

That's a surprisingly brilliant diplomatic solution.

This doesn't even register as a shitstorm. No need to panic just yet :)

That is the single stupidest thing I have heard this month. You're in the running for the whole year, but it's only July.

It's a tl;dr of the quote above.

ALMOST ALL CASES OF RAPE ARE CONSENSUAL SEX ACTS YOU REGRET AND DON'T WANT TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR, SO YOU FALSELY CLAIM RAPE! That's a warning. We deal in facts here. If you're going to make outrageous claims like that be prepared to back them up.

Even if we knew who was spamming us, they wouldn't agree to such a debate. I would participate in a heartbeat, but these guys are cowards.

I don't believe there's any serious issue to tackle. There are MRM communities out there who are extreme - just like there are extreme feminism communities. As for this community, we're great. We don't ban users for stupid though, unlike feminism subreddits. You will also face a lot of resistance because we're constantly attacked even when there isn't a legitimate reason. Don't believe in patriarchy? RAPISTS!! It makes it difficult to filter valid criticism from invalid.

The user has been thoroughly downvoted. These comments clearly exist, but they're made by a tiny minority. They also aren't tolerated or encouraged. I hope you don't base your opinion of this subreddit or movement on the commets of one or two idiots.

First, this isn't relevant to men's rights. Second, you posted it twice.

I think the issue is over whether gender dysphoria can be reliably determined in adolescence. What is the ratio of children who later change their mind? Do we have any statistics on this?

Unfortunately they are notoriously slow to respond to such requests. If you used the contact the admins via PM link that's the best you can do. As for posting in MR it would be best to use this temporary account until you sort out what happened to your primary account. For what it's worth your submission was auto-spammed, indicating you may have triggered the spam filter which banned you. Were you submitting a lot recently? Edit: Sorry for the late reply. I just saw your message to the MR mods.

Hi I'm the mod. Your account has been banned by a Reddit admin. Can you explain why that is? I can't see any of your posting history. You could be a prolific spammer, or have a history of harassment. We just can't see that. Please get in touch with an admin to have your ban overturned, then contact us and we will do the same. Thanks

Civil rights are things like the right to not be discriminated against based on race, and the right to bodily autonomy etc. There is no law, either in the Civil Rights Act or elsewhere, that grants students the right to continue to attend universities in the US. If there are such laws please be specific. I ask not to be argumentative, but because this is a good way for both of us (and anyone viewing this conversation) to learn. One last time, please be specific. Which laws prevent universities f…

Once again, do you know which laws they would be breaking by expelling a student for the findings of one of these proceedings? I'm not aware of any and if we could review case law it would put this argument to bed.

I was under the impression your private entities in the US were given a very wide berth in which to conduct personal affairs. Universities appear to be able to expel students at will, with any or no reason required (provided they don't contravene discrimination laws). If these educational institutions wished to expel someone - even on the findings of one of these kangaroo courts - it seems they are within their rights. This was further enshrined by the infamous "Dear Colleagues" letter. If, as y…

No. At present we lack basic awareness. The majority of people are still confused by the notion of "men's rights". We're at the first phase, and that's talking to people about male issues, and spreading the word that men can and should discuss their problems. In all of my immediate friend groups it's no longer a taboo topic, and everyone agrees that men need some kind of representation. I hope every one of our members is out there discussing these things in a logical and coherent manner. The nex…
