Understandable. It's a world of its own and can become very addicting and time consuming. Despite the point others have made about altcoins which could net you higher yields, since you have no strong interest my opinion is just sticking to the "safer" choices, being Ethereum and Bitcoin. At this point, it's unlikely your $5k is going to turn into like $500k or anything but will likely out perform other traditional investments over the next decade.

Is there a reason you hold no crypto? Seems a bit odd not to bother with "high risk/reward" given your age. The way I see it, you're young and 1% - 5% of that amount seems trivial over the course of the next 10 - 20 years of your life. Entire market tends to move with Bitcoin because Bitcoin is typically the "gateway" to altcoins (most alts can't be bought directly with $), although some exchanges are now starting to offer Ethereum pairs. When Bitcoin shits the bed typically so does everything else (greatly simplifying). The entire market itself is highly speculative. Don't put anything in you wouldn't be willing to lose. There are men who are married and come across MGTOW later on in life. A simple cost-benefit analysis could suggest that if there aren't any significant problems with the marriage that it's better to stay in it then pay a half-your-shit entry fee to get the title of "MGTOW." This is even more so the case if you have kids to consider. If someone is MGTOW and then chooses to get married and still calls themselves MGTOW, that to me doesn't make sense.

Yes, Bitcoin is actually quantum resistant if used properly. Quantum may weaken public/private key cryptography in terms of being able to go from a public key -> private key.
