+1 for living on campus. Not only will it build your social skills, it will improve the quality of your college experience. Take it from someone who just finished college and misses it so fucking much, and regrets not making even more of it.

As far as cold approaches go, the niceness of women is going to depend on the setting and their relative attractiveness to other women in that setting. If you were hit on 50 times in the last 3 hours, you'd be a bitch too.

My latest post was on this issue. Check it out, there were some great comments I found helpful. Also, do a search on this subreddit using the keyword "conversation." Read the highest voted threads. They should be useful for you. Good luck! I'm kinda in the same boat.

As I'm reading this thread, here's what I'm thinking. In his mind, he's probably already decided whether you are fuck-worthy or not. Not knowing all the details, I don't think there's very much that you could say or do that would change this decision. It seems to me that the best you can do right now is just candidly open the floor to see if he's open to sex. Come on to him in a sexy way and just start getting physical, and see where it goes. How much do you know about escalating kino? Take what…

Here's another problem I have, lol. I am very soft-spoken. When I do say something, it's usually quite meaningful, but no one hears it. I actually think I fare better in 1-on-1 conversations for this very reason. The funny thing is, my profession requires that I have a loud, booming voice, which I command very well. I guess just need to learn how to calibrate myself in social settings.

Yes. Feels slightly difficult to do where I currently am. My social groups will likely change for the better when I'm back in school 2 years from now. That's kind of a long time, though.

I've long had an aversion to professional mental health services, but I probably should have considered trying it back when it would have been free for me to do so. It seems that my issues go further back beyond just the last few months. The problem you mention seems to be exactly the one that I've tried to put forth, worded differently. But you have a point, maybe I should try to steer conversations in a direction that are more suited to my interests, and see how people respond to that.

I have no problem with initial small talk, it's carrying that conversation further and deeper that I have trouble with.

Not always, but frequently. Or in debates, I usually see both sides as having equally valid points, so in my head, an argument is already over before it began.

Dude I used to have this problem too. Try just letting them hang. Forget you have them. My body language is far better once I got over the hands-in-pocket thing.

No no, try to keep your thumbs exposed. Don't remember my source, but it is an indicator of dominance. Same when you cross your arms - keep your thumbs up, out, and visible.

I think body language plays a significant role. Of course, it also depends on the person and the circumstances. In that case, it sprung into a great 30-plus-minute conversation.

So basically, for most jaywalking scenarios where the jaywalker gets hurt or dies, it's legally "too bad so sad"; pedestrians only have the right-of-way at crosswalks. Only if the driver is charged with negligence can s/he also be charged with manslaughter (or something like that). From what I understood, negligence can be either speeding or intoxication. But whether or not a driver was speeding enough to be deemed "negligent" is judged by jury on a case-by-case basis, so it's risky.

At the very beginning, when I was still getting over my shyness, it was just simply making myself say what I wanted to, but felt too uncomfortable to. Met an awesome amputee marathon runner in much the same way, simply by asking a random middle-aged woman staring off into space, "What are you thinking about?" The key, I guess, is forcing yourself to disinhibit yourself, and just say what's on your mind.

I can try. It's kind of all scrambled at this point, given how long it was. He noticed my out-of-state license plate, asked me what I was doing here, I said I'm going to be a teacher, he said his daughter teaches chemistry, I said me too (truth). That served as the initial springing board to just everything under the sun... He explained why it was so dangerous to speed, started talking about hobos and Native Americans in the area. That brought up a ton of direct legal questions that I started as…

Is there a subreddit for your area? I'm in Phoenix, there's a Phoenix subreddit and phx redditor facebook group; there are events going on all the time, and two of my now closest friends I met from there.

I'm ready to cut this chick and just tell her straight up "I don't like games and I don't like being lead on. Peace." but I feel like that would just DLV me hard if she is trying to see me. That sounds like a hardcore DHV to me.... "I'm the shit, I know it, and I'm not gonna take this BS from anyone."

OKAY y'all need to look at the science that's actually going on here. See this comment thread at TIL. I'm a chemist/pharmacologist. Basically, while overall testosterone level does increase by an average of 45.7%, quite significant, the additional amount that is physiologically available to the body is only a small fraction of total serum level. I don't think the physiologically available ("free") testosterone figures were published, but I don't have access to the full article. I'd like to see t…

use those opportunities to turn what she says into something sexual I'd love a concrete example. Say: HB: "It was SOOOOOO long!" badPUA: "That's what she said." goodPUA: [weird look with grin]? Or what?

This book has kinda been sitting next to my bed for a while. Read the first couple personalities, I remember the rake. Haven't had the time to finish it. Sounds like I should make the time. Would you say this book was more abstract inspiration, or did it bequeath on you a set of tangible skills to use? I don't know what the second half of the book is like at all.

I posted this above, but I think it deserves a second mention... Honestly, what's the harm if they never find out, and if the recording is never used against them? Which is most likely true in the context of PUA.

"bear", not "bare" Ditto on good job. Also much better than my first time out. Run a search on here for "pre-opener," see if that helps. Also, there was a post on here recently about using AskReddit or another subreddit (sorry, can't remember) to get ideas on openers that you are legitimately invested/interested in. "Hey so my buddy and I were discussing ____, and we need an opinion." In a nutshell, I'm a newbie too, and I've discovered that for me, I'm much more likely to approach if I am legit…
