For the time being, I'm a teacher. Teach high school. We teachers love grading rubrics; when used correctly, they can make grading many different kinds of assignments much less subjective.
Just now, I was lost in thought about my progress since I started this whole self-improvement marathon back at the beginning of 2011. I realized that I've improved quite a bit, but I haven't been able to quantify exactly how much. As a scientist (yes, I teach the sciences), this really bugs me.
I would like to be able to "grade" and track my own progress. Currently, however, there is no mechanism or instrument for me to do so. I think the ability to quantify improvement would act both as motivation and as a reality check for just exactly how well we are doing. I find it analogous to periodically taking body measurements for body builders. From experience, grade tracking has also proven to be a very useful tool for my students.
So I want to make a rubric. But there's a problem. Not being an mPUA, I don't have a solid idea of all the exact qualities that are indicative of an mPUA. Therefore, I can't make a rubric; or if I do, I would need substantial help from the more senior Sedditors in here.
I'd like to share with you an example of an extremely extensive rubric, one that is similar to what I have in mind for seduction. It can be found here, and was created by a non-profit educational organization called Teach for America. The rubric is intended for use in evaluating teacher performance, and is broken down into six large themes, each theme further broken down into specific abilities that can be graded on a sliding scale from "pre-novice" to "exemplary."
I would like for us to create a similar masterpiece, but for seduction/PUA/game. The first step would be to establish the overarching themes of seduction. Not being pro, I'm not comfortable coming up with such themes, but I know I need to lay down some examples for you to get the idea. So - for example, the main themes of the rubric might be: (1) physical appearance, (2) body language, (3) approach, (4) kino, (5) conversation, (6) rapport, (7) DHV, (8) LMR, etc... (skipped a few things there, probably). Ideally, these themes would be further broken down into specific performance actions.
Granted, the methods in which the rubric is employed would still be vulnerable to subjectivity, since we would be using it to grade ourselves, or wingmen would be using it to grade each other. However, it would still serve as a step closer to being able to more accurately pinpoint where we are in our journey to become better men.
I could write more, but I need to know that there would be a substantial following and support for this before I invest any more energy or thought. Clearly if everyone thinks it's a dumb idea, it's not going to fly. Know too that I would need an mPUA on here, or at least someone more senior, to take point. I can try to organize this, but that's about all I can do.
I estimate that a good, solid, draft, consensus rubric would take at least a month to synthesize. But I've also never before dealt with rubrics in this... framework.
EDIT: Yeah, I'm thinking way too much into it. Idea dumped. Thanks all. :)
