On my 25th birthday, my former boyfriend of four months sent me a text in the morning wishing me a happy birthday. We had plans to go out that day to celebrate. Instead, he spends the entire day sending me text after text about how sick he feels. There was no mention of my birthday after the initial text, no apology, just him whining about how he's sick. I am really embarrassed to say I let it go, and didn't bring it up. Anyway, that was a major turning point in the relationship. It only lasted …

This post screams fake troll to me. It's either an excuse to brag about how much his condo cost (the "aren't I good in terms of finance?") is some annoying bit of self-deprecation and/or it's a way to shit on women in general. Or maybe he's trying to get a woman who's able to land a man who can afford multi-million dollar properties, and is annoyed he isn't good enough despite doing better than 95% of his peers?

I would die of embarrassment ever going on a coffee date. Just the idea of going to my local Starbucks (in which I am somewhat of a regular) but this time I am on a date. And then whenever I go there, I've never seen anyone on a date. It's people working, meeting up with friends, maybe some networking going on.

I bet a lot of these anti-blockers don't do it because they don't want that connection to completely close. They like the idea that someone is thinking about them. Maybe they'll even get back together! *clown face* After all, they are so ~above it~ when it comes to caring about how someone is interacting with them, it makes me feel like they would also be susceptible to taking someone back, like they want to make it known that they don't hold grudges.

I don't care if I just spent the entire day at the spa. No way in hell I am shoveling the driveway when I have a husband.

I actually think the majority of women (who are actively dating) are single because their standards are too low. If you ask them about their past relationships, it's a bunch of relationships that should have ended much, much earlier but they ignored red flags and boundary pushing. Go over to the datingoverthirty subreddit to see it in action. I even have girlfriends in their 40s and 50s who will date a LVM for 2-3 years, have many breakups during that time until it's finally for good, and then t…

I went over there with all his stuff he had at my apartment. He was in a really good mood. "Just doing some spring cleaning!" I said so he would have no idea what was coming. I broke up with him after I gave him ONE chance to fix something that was totally unacceptable, and he failed to do so. We went two weeks without seeing each other. I told him, this better not happen again. It fucking happened again! I think he was trying to downgrade me to a FWB. Afterwards he texted me, "You dropped a nuk…

I got my haircut at the salon today, and my stylist was talking to another stylist about all the emotional labor she has to do for her husband around the holidays, like buying gifts for his family. The other stylist said she was doing the same for her bf and my stylist said, "You need to put a stop to that now or it will be 31 years later, and you'll be still be doing it like I am" I was glad there was acknowledgement that it's not acceptable, but I think their convo just normalizes it. The youn…

A friend of mine has been dating a single father (over 10 years her senior) with 4 kids (hasn't met them yet) for two months, and talks with enormous glee about when they'll all be moving into her single family home. I can't imagine she's keeping this to herself, so he either planted the idea in her head, or is cosigning it. It's totally bizarre, like even a woman who always wanted a big family if she got pregnant with quads would still be freaking out and feeling anxious about how much her life…

Every Christmas, my mom counts all the presents my dad got her. If there’s not at least 50, there will be hell to pay. LVM are probably frothing at the mouth, but guess who always gets what she wants (35 christmases married)?

I used to read jezebel back around 2012/2013. They would act like something was wrong with you if you weren't screwing random guys on Craigslist. I am not joking. They would flex about it. They are cringeworthy elder millennials.

100%. It's why if you go on other dating subreddits, it's always men who are telling women to ignore that red flag, communicate, "it's not about what he does, but how he reacts when you tell him his behavior is wrong" like you're talking to a 5-year-old crap, etc. They are terrified of women not giving second (or more) chances, and it's why they project with, "That's why people here are single!"

I've followed true crime for over a decade, and usually, it's very female-dominated, but when you go and read the GabbyPetito subreddit, you can just *tell* there are so many LVM, disgusting incel scrotes commenting.

When I first started dating my ex LVM, there were a few instances in person and looking at photos where I honestly thought he was so fucking ugly. I had a visceral reaction to him. Objectively, I don't think he is ugly, but there was *something* that made me feel so much disgust on our 2nd date looking at him, and looking at photos of him online. He turned out to be an awful person. It really says something about intuition...

Yes, it was definitely a mindfuck for me. He worked as a nurse as well, so he also had that in his corner to fit his Mr. Gentle personality. He's definitely the type of man who no one would believe to be abusive based on how he carries himself. One example is, in the Uber car, he's Mr. Congeniality with the Uber driver. At the restaurant, it's the silent treatment for me. No fight or disagreement or anything before. Just his weirdo attitude issue. It was definitely a good lesson for me to think …

My ex was incredibly soft-spoken (when he wanted to be) and his whole persona was being "aww shucks" gentle guy. He even had a special voice he would use. Anyway, he ended up being emotionally abusive and just an all around horrible person. There was a lot of silent treatments (after all, he was gentle, he wasn't going to yell) in that relationship. Good thing we all follow FDS, where we know to never stop vetting!!

OMG, so this is one of the comments on the post that triggered this topic by me: "I AM actually a 10, have a 10 girlfriend who is 13 years younger than me, am so far from toxic viewpoints, that my male and female friends call MY mom on mother's day to thank her for what a great and lovely man she brought into the world. I have been in wonderful relationships full of harmony and love for the past 15 out of 16 years. I really am not starved for female attention. I did 2-3 dates a week while i date…

I've seen it where a woman will bring up issues with the man she is dating, and how he is treating her, and there is always scrotes in the comments saying it's because she's trying to date above her league. If she lowered her standards, she would find someone who adores her. There's a current post on pickme and LVM over 30 where a woman asks how she can be her proactive, assertive self without having to do all the work. Cue the comment section (some have been deleted) where men say that she's da…

One thing I ask myself when deciding whether to date a guy is: If he was a coworker (I work with pretty much all guys), how would I feel about him? Would he be someone I have any interest in? What's different about him? Does my interactions with him stand out from my interactions with my male coworkers?

I read that post too. They live in some alternative universe where they can act however they want, and face zero consequences. In the real world, how you act has an impact on how people see you. There's definitely a correlation between Reddit losers have no friends and zero dating life, and thinking there's nothing wrong with being unconcerned and oblivious to social cues.

I was in a relationship for six months, and we went two weeks without seeing each other due to lame excuses on his part. He would have 3-4 random days off a week, while I worked 2nd shift, so during the week, we only had the afternoons to see each other. He decided he needed to go to the gym during these afternoons...like you have the entire day off, you just have to go the gym during the only time I can see you? When I saw him, I said hey this is not acceptable. I will not be in a relationship …

I've seen posts online saying that because serial killers have gotten married in prison, if you're single, it's because you're worse than a psychotic murderer.

Same. The things I enjoy doing are usually all women. I go to barre and yoga class, I want to start taking ballet and figure skating lessons, and I just signed up for a book club. I don’t want to join a coed sports league. I go on meetup, and the events I see that are coed, usually involve hiking or drinking, pretty much everyone looks to be over 45. I don’t get how me showing up for a singles mixer when I’m the youngest by 20 years is any less desperate than OLD. a few years ago, I went hiking …

I think a big reason LVM do not want to take women out on actual dates (they try to make it sound like they will if she gets pass the ~*pre-date*~, but that's just to make themselves sound higher in demand than they are) is because they don't actually like doing things. They're annoyed they have to leave the couch. It's why the only dates they can think of are walking, coffee, or drinks, when there are other ideas out there that also wouldn't cost a lot of money. For example, there is an ice rin…

I've never experienced this IRL, but I've seen it online, and it's always by the incel/Red Pill/MGTOW crowd. Then you see the woman posting a paragraph trying to prove her worth. This is a major red flag. Block and delete.

With online dating, we are encouraged to go to his place/bring him to our place within the first three dates. This is the perfect setup for sexual assault. Even if you are planning to have sex, he might decide he wants anal, doesn't want to wear a condom, and through force or coercion, rapes you. I even saw on Jezebel once (dark days when I used to read that website) someone commented they wouldn't feel comfortable with one night stands, and a lib fem retorted with, "you're more likely to be rap…

I've seen women argue that they want to have sex sooner rather than later because if it's bad, they don't want to find that out weeks or months later. That just tells me they aren't vetting well enough. You can look at how he acts outside the bedroom to get an idea of what it will be like in the bedroom with him.

Lol reminds me of this thread where men were asked, when did you know you were attractive? so many of stories were about some girl saying they were cute in middle school 🙄 they are running around with delusional self confidence because of that!

Also, f you are following COVID-19 guidance, you are living a much more of a homebody life this year, which could be very different from how you normally are. When the virus ends, and you're like, yay, we can start going on dates, and doing more stuff outside the house, but then, what if your BF, is like, what? um, all I do is play video games and watch TV every day of the year!

One of the comments in the screenshot says how OP "is his dream girl" and it has 300 upvotes. I hate that type of thing. Yeah, OP is a dream girl because she asks for very little, will do emotional labor for the guy she's dating, doesn't need a label on the relationship, will buy her own birthday gift, lets him use her car because he won't get his registered, etc. I'm glad that OP lost attraction to him over this, and I hope she breaks up, but it really annoys me that they are trying to convince…

No, I am the same age as you and feel the same way. I went on two dates with a 38-year-old before the pandemic, and it wasn't for me. For one thing, he was wearing these pants that were very popular around the early 2000s, when I was in elementary school. He would have been in college! It was a weird mind fuck. Also, I felt like he talked down to me a lot. Personally, I feel like dating an older man means dealing with a limp dick having dude who acts like he's the prize. Also, I think if you wer…

We dated when 13 Reasons Why came out. I read the book, and was interested in watching the show. We watched the 1st episode together, and he acted like he was doing me a big sacrifice watching it with me, and like it was the dumbest thing ever. He ended up watching every every episode after I left. Then he would get on my case about when I was going to watch the rest so we could talk about it. When I said I hadn't finished it yet, I would get him rolling his eyes. We never ever talked about TV, …

I feel like my friend is sort of like this. She has a great job, is extremely active, outgoing, lots of friends, very into running and hiking, etc. She has very low standards in dating, and dates men who are so beneath her. This one guy was ugly, lived with his parents in his 30s, was unloading all his emotional baggage on her before the first date. She will also post about her short term relationship drama all over Facebook with passive aggressive posts. And on dating apps, her max age is set t…

I have read posts from people (I think it’s mostly men) who say they want a relationship so they can share every little detail of their day with their SO. It’s never that they want to hear about their SO’s day as well. They just want to talk about their own. This has always seemed weird to me. They sound like they have no one to talk to, which means they are probably pretty introverted/quiet, so it’s not like it’s their personality to talk about the daily minutia. It’s like they are admitting th…

I am in the same situation. I am not in my thirties yet (28), but I have only been in two relationships. Neither lasted for over six months, and one was emotionally abusive. I think if someone were to judge me for it, it would because there was already something he did not like and was looking for something to confirm it. I do have a very low sex drive, I am a reserved person, so I feel like yeah, it probably does say something about me. I just do not see how it indicates that there is something…

I love how straight forward all those responses are. I hate how much coddling goes on whenever people on Reddit give advice on communicating. You can never just say something, it’s got to be occupied by compliments, a soothing tone, and a back rub.

I have pretty much always been single, and I’ve never seen myself as worthless, because of it, or because of any reason. Maybe that’s why I don’t date too much, because my entire self worth is not lingering on whether I have a man?

OMG, my emotionally abusive ex use to do stuff like this. I remember going over to his place, and we're going through the shows on Netflix. I'm saying things like "Oh, that's a good one" and "How about that one?" about lots of the options. He doesn't say a word. He selects "That 70 Show", a show I didn't say anything about. Um, ok. Then I say "Well this is a sitcom, so it doesn't matter what episode we pick, since you can watch any, and shows don't really get good until a couple seasons in, so m…

People on those subreddits always talk about how extremely shy, introverted, awkward they are, that they no experience in dating, no friends, and spend all their time online or playing video games, but love to criticize others for not being ~*~*direct communicators~*~. There's no way in hell they follow their own advice.
