I have to say that I like and agree with the overall premise of this post. You can be a good, nice guy and still get laid. I don't want to go into anymore detail reiterating things you've already said so I'll leave it there. I will however say that I disagree at least partially with the idea of being friends with girls you're attracted to. It depends on the level of feelings you have. If it's a girl you find attractive, but you're not really attached to (for instance you haven't known her long) …

Well, I'll shed as much insight as I can into what has worked for me: Short messages are best (initially anyways). Long messages are far too much work, and usually don't get a great response. Also, say something a little off the wall, over exaggerate something in their profile for instance. But don't ever ask direct questions, those are standard and boring. Don't ever start your message with something like "what are you in school for?" They probably get asked questions all day and it's lame as h…

I'll be honest, your life is only boring if you think it is. I could drop my pencil right now, and tell the story of me dropping my pencil as if it were the most hilarious thing that's happened to me all day and get people interested/attracted. Trust me it's not that you lack stories it's that you lack the proper expression required to tell the stories. EDIT: So I read through the comments only AFTER I posted this comment and realized that it had been said 10 times by 10 people etc etc etc. So I…

Thanks for the reply, I'm still hit by this whole thing pretty hard but I'm trying to move on as quickly as possible. Nothing I can't handle I'm just trying to decide where to go from here. Not sure if I want to tell this girl that I want her to be with me instead of him or not. Trying to decide if its best to move on or if I really want to make the effort. I'm good at a lot of things but talking about my feelings isn't one of them, so I'm conflicted here lol. Anyways man, what kind of feedback …

I'm glad you were able to do so. This is why I advocate working towards actually FEELING the affirmations. When you actually feel them, saying them really can make the difference. For you it took certain occurrences before you felt them. I think it's the same for everybody else, we just have to get out and find what we need in order to affirm ourselves. I think people that don't experience it drastically underestimate how difficult it is to deal with anxiety.

Well lets hope that isn't the case for anybody. Although for a lot of things I am not a big fan of just blind affirmations either. I'm not putting any words in your mouth, this is more of a side-note. But I want to be clear to anyone who reads this. I want to stress the importance of working towards these affirmations. Not just saying positive things about yourself, but working to actually FEEL these things before you even bother saying them. If you don't think you're attractive, hit the gym. If…

I think the idea of speaking freely is great in all contexts, but one of the best ways to not come off as weird, or at least lessen your chances is to be outside of your head when you do it. Look around, look at the girl you're about to talk to. Say she's wearing a weird looking bracelet. If this girl were a friend of yours that you weren't attracted to, what would you say about the bracelet? You'd probably in a joking but friendly tone tease her about it or say something weird about it. Or mayb…

Honestly in my experience so far, if you actually feel these affirmations are true, rather than just smiling and saying them then it seems to have made a difference for me. But science is a beast I'd rather not take on. It's all up to personal experience I suppose, and that's all I can speak from.

This is why I tried to tie these things together. If you were talking to my your hypothetical "girl you are close to but not attracted to" like I mentioned, you wouldn't care and it would be very easy to just be you, without putting on a face. That makes it so much easier.

I think we worry about how to say just the right thing to have the desired effect, and to put everything we say into this context of picking the girl up. It's important, to me, to remember that not every word you say is necessarily there to push the seduction forward. Not everything you say has to be a neg or a qualifier etc etc. Loosen the fuck up. I realize that me simply saying that will change nothing, but I have a general rule of thumb that goes like this: Always err on the side of goofy. A…

It's lame but every time a girl asks what I do, I say: "When you're using a mechanical pencil and you need more lead, what do you do? You push down the eraser right? Well, when you do that it makes a clicking sound. It's my job to make sure that the clicking sound is not too loud." I don't remember when I came up with it but it usually gets mad laughs. Yea I'm a dork.

Funny you should mention that, I still view sinns talk at t21c as being one of my major turning points in this field. Couldn't agree more with what you're saying. I notice a bit of that trend myself, you definitely have to contend with the fact that you are going to change in the eyes of both yourself and your friends, and with that will come drastic behavioral changes. So this is an issue I think we all have to contend with. Perhaps guys should be made more aware of this?

Inner Game or Natural Game doesn't contradict the framework of the MM. We still need to go through the attraction, comfort, seduction phases (even if stage 1 is just "assume attraction"). Agreed, in fact I would say that inner-game helps one to gain thought processes and ideas that will lead to the concepts of structured game coming naturally. I'm all for that, but I don't want people to forget that the roots of the natural-game trend are in the ideas and concepts of structured game. I don't thi…

I guess I have to agree, I can see how somebody could certainly work on both of them at the same time. What I meant to be getting at is that.... Well for example, how many times have you heard somebody tell of their journey in pickup? How many times have they started with "at first I was obsessed with mystery method (or some other very structured game) and then I saw the light...[insert inner-game stuff here.] I have seen that a lot. This gives the listener the idea that if the person had just d…

I know exactly what you mean. I tend to type way too much so I'll try to keep this short. If your emotions are dependent on your success with women then you are making pickup your lifestyle. This is a bad idea. You have to start focusing on multiple areas (fashion, fitness, music, tv or whatever you are into) and get hobbies based on those things. Make yourself a life full of what you want it to be full of. Pickup should be merely one item on that list, and shouldn't determine your mood your who…

I would agree on a lot of what you said, however I find the question of where to put our confidence (structured or inner) unnecessary. I think they are both a part of the process, and may or may not be necessary for an individual based on their level of social calibration when starting out. As its been said many times in comments as well as in my original post, if somebody is already well-calibrated, they will not need structured game much or at all. However, somebody who is not calibrated and i…

Agreed. I am the first to admit that there is a point where structured game becomes irrelevant but in the beginning it helps so much to set a framework. It gives a person a little guidance on how to flirt, and allows them to experience some initial success to build on. Seems like this type of game is being overlooked in favor of a natural game that so many guys aren't ready for.

It's funny, I actually hate the game. I feel like it gives people the wrong idea and sets a standard that nobody is going to live up to. I think it's a great read, but I would never recommend somebody starting out in the community read this. I did, and I have regretted it ever since. It's something I would say a person should read later down the road.

Sounds like you're taking steps to correct this. What are some things you are interested in. What kind of music do you like? Do you like sports, if so what kind? Also, something as simple as updating your wardrobe or trying a new hairstyle can make quite a difference too. I know the general trend in the community is leaning towards inner-game, but the fact is that inner game (seems to me to be) a hell of a lot easier to build from the outside in, as opposed to the inside out.

Like I said, even a bad smile is leaps and bounds better than no smile, but spend a little time in front of a mirror and practice if you're not sure how to maximize the appearance of your smile. I actually find a VERY light smile to be the most effective. The reason I put that in there is that I have a friend who THINKS he's terrible with women, but they gravitate to the guy. I was thinking about what it may be, and I noticed that when I talk to him I feel comfortable with him because he always …

That's the same mistake I made. I mean if you were to ask me to give an example of an occasion where sarcasm is NOT used to convey the idea that the other person is an idiot, I am not sure I could think of one. It tends to come off as really condescending.

Exactly, glad you got that I wasn't sure I was clear. Thanks for expanding a little on it.

I guess my only qualm with this is that for me personally, I tend to come off as being an ass hole, I mean it's REALLY tough to use sarcasm without sending the message that the other person is an idiot for one reason or another. I mean 99% of the time that's what people use sarcasm for. So this is why I say that it's best to probably just avoid it completely. During the beginnings of an interaction/relationship the person doesn't know you and does not understand your use of sarcasm, so it seems …

Read chumptas post a few posts down, that's generally where I stand on the subject. It's important in a situation like that to be non-reactive, and the cuteness attitude I touched on (and which was very well explained by chumpta) helps you to be much less reactive in situations like this, or even to laugh it off. You don't want those people around anyways, you have standards for women/relationships.

Exactly, I agree 100% Even when I use the most jokingly funny sarcasm I can think of, I can feel that it still comes off negative. My biggest problem in that area is that I use sarcasm SO much around friends that when around other people I don't even realize I use it and have to actively work in order to not use it.

Thanks, I wanted to make clear that it's VERY possible that I over-do the sarcasm, I use it a lot without even realizing it and often regret it. You live you learn i suppose.

First of all: Wow, I'm blown away, props to you for pioneering the audio thing. I have to say I'm impressed with your bravery in doing these approaches. A lot of people wouldn't be able to do approaches like these. Props to you for taking that step! If I had to make any critiques, I would say these: The Good: I'm very jealous of your voice tone. You have a very enthusiastic voice ton, very welcoming. I can tell women respond very comfortably and well to that. I am working on voice ton but having…

I would say that allowing her to talk on the phone would convey the message that you were too nervous to say anything about a behavior that was clearly rude by any standards. This leads her to think that you think she's better than you, which makes her believe that to be true. I would say that the best course of action would be to have said something along the lines of "I can't talk to you anymore" and when she wonders why, respond with something along the lines of "you're cute, but if you aren'…
