Thank you. “Guys are just guys and many are losers” is going to be my new mantra when I feel them getting me down.

Oh no :( thank you for sharing that tidbit of info.

This reminds me: I teach public speaking and one of my students made the claim that there aren’t many women in blue collar jobs not because of sexism, but because women just don’t want those jobs. Why don’t they want those jobs brad? Could it be… cultural misogyny and the fact women are socialized to think they can’t/shouldn’t do those jobs? How about the sexist hazing that occurs on behalf of male coworkers in those fields? He’s going to get a lashing in his feedback.

Yes! This is my new non-pickme requirement for dating. The moment I feel uncomfortable, I’m out.

Absolutely. I’m child free, but I have two pregnant friends right now. I’m surprised by my own excitement to meet the little babes because I generally don’t like children. Looking forward to being the cool “aunt” and teaching them life hacks.

I have definitely been 100% alone at home, with no one to observe me, did my makeup and did not post on social media nor snap chat nor get on old. I 100% did my makeup for fun.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/05/21 06:36 PM

Your full second paragraph essentially, that women should not fool themselves into thinking that “wearing makeup is empowering, art, a hobby, or that you do it for yourself. None of that is true… [makeup] is 100% buying directly into patriarchal expectations.” And more of the same in the replies. Seems as though you think the issue is pretty black and white.

You yourself seem to be engaging in a makeup bad black and white fallacy without much nuance.

I meant the “playing keep away” comment not as “I want to give in to sex demands” but like... I like to have sex. I want sex. It’s worth waiting, but it is annoying to hold off on my own urges because they are deceitful. I am totally going to wait things out from now on, but I’m definitely going to be frustrated. Adam and Eve, here I come lol. That last para was totally me though. I nurtured my drug dealing ex after his felony and lost some of my 20s. :/ learned a huge lesson! Never again.

I agree with all of this. I’ve been having a hard time not viewing dating as a game—my own dad taught me at 13 that dating is a game and... lordt, the undoing. My therapist works for her paycheck. I don’t trust myself to date yet and I’m currently working on my boundaries so when I’m ready, I can make the best decisions for me. I respond way better to “it’s about loving yourself” rather than “it’s about making a man respect you.” I could give two shits about their respect honestly. Edit: and by …

I will probably get downvoted for this on here, or maybe even deleted, but so be it. I do think it is fucked up, not because that means we should have sex right away, or because I don’t think we should give away our vulnerability easily. I think it’s fucked up that I have to play keep away with a man to maintain his interest. I have to refrain from being my naturally very loving self for months. I know that it’s about vetting, but I am mad that we’ve gotten to this point with men. I’m going to d…

100 percent this is my philosophy. Scrotes that complain about FDS as an "echo chamber" of angry women completely ignore that we are individual angry women with our own morals, philosophies, and experiences learning better ways to keep ourselves and our sense of integrity safe. FDS is about radical self love and venting frustrations, not the hateful rhetoric that the scrote-net love to portray.

THANK you. I was actually about to post a rant about how I appreciate the ability to customize your Snoo Reddit alien bc now I KNOW for a FACT that the shitty comment I just read came from a neck beard. For example, just saw a whole cluster of men complaining about rEd FlAgs on Am I the Asshole and Relationship Advice. I always had a feeling before that these were men, but now their bearded Snoo gives them away. Oh, and they hate seeing red flag comments because the abusive behavior that posters…

No one wants to date someone with a mental illness. I have a mental illness and I definitely don’t want to date someone who has one because they aren’t romantic. They’re something that should be properly treated through therapy and other necessary means. From what I’ve seen, FDS isn’t ableist or against people with mental illness. The philosophy is to stay away from men who don’t even try to take care of themselves mentally, physically or otherwise. Signs of an untreated mental illness are signs…

Hey now, stop that negative self talk. It sounds to me like you recognize what habits you need to change. I also suffer from depression and anxiety, this post hit me hard. I’m going to take a walk about it and do one productive task. Cut yourself some slack and start slow. You’ve got this!

Yes! I was open with my friends from the get, mostly because I am lucky to have supportive friends who knew I had been having a hard time with a scrote. I really emphasized it to one friend who I thought could use it and recommended it to her. Just like me, she saw it as a revelation. It's awesome because now we will have some awesome discussions together based on posts as we navigate the scrote-filled dating scene. If you're reading this, hey friend!

Read the handbook, like others have said. But also remember not to beat yourself up. I started getting into FDS after being in a situation that I wasn’t proud of, and it can be easy to drown in “what if” and regrets. Some of the readings can sound harsh and judgmental. If you’re the type to take things personally (like me), some advice can come off as shaming. Just keep in the back of your mind that regardless of tone women have created these resources to help you heal, grow, and learn to protec…

I think you’re right, but I don’t think it’s just about looks. I’m convinced the guy I just got out of a situationship with had the whole damn package already built in his mind - what she would look like but also her career, her hobbies, her five year plan. I’m pretty sure he had the template of a girl and has been looking for one to fit his box. Pretty fucking gross. Or maybe I’m just bitter that he “didn’t want a relationship (with me).”

She might be having sex with other men, and they can’t have that. Doesn’t give the same ego stroke. Just got out of a situation like this and I’m pretty sure he got off on how much I clearly wanted a relationship with him. :/

I had thought there was something wrong w me as all of my friends get married and I am single. Starting to realize it’s because they acted as live-in maids for 5+ years before engagement/marriage. No thanks.

This was such a refreshing opinion to read! I was a bridesmaid for the first time in Feb. The wedding was such a fill in the blank template of everything that is wedding-popular right now in my area. All of my friends are spending tons of money to throw what is essentially the same wedding and to wear the same dress... what is even the point. Lmao plus they are hiring a (likely expensive) photographer to document everything, but all of their “special moments” will be indistinguishable from other…

I stuck with my LV ex through his felony. Five years of emotional support; he paid me back by emotionally cheating on me with some festival hoe. Never again, and no more dudes who go to music festivals.

I honestly do not see it as a red flag. If it was a normal occurrence that you “conveniently” forgot your wallet, then yes. But as someone who loves you, he should be willing to bite the $80, especially if he makes more money than you. Someone who doesn’t have an expendable $80 at hand? Yikes. And I’m not even one of those women who values the materialistic parts of dating. As one other commenter said, I think what he is proving is an unwillingness to stick his neck out for you.

I was searching for this thread and found another thread of a man asking if he should buy his girlfriend a $30 ring off of Amazon... I wonder if there is a connection. Anyway, people on relationship advice were like “maybe shoot for something more expensive like $50” lmao. Or “price doesn’t matter as long as the metal holds up.” I then proceeded to read similar posts for an hour and get more pissed. I wish a man would. I’ve been back on Hinge lately. It’s absolutely ridiculous the amount of men who put no effort into attracting a woman. Being a jerk is one thing, not even trying and still expecting success is another.

This article read like, “let your partner coerce you!” The only other thing I have to add is this person seriously said sometimes “all you want to do is catch up on last season of GoT.” This was written in November 2019. Someone obvi isn’t hep to the vibe that season 8 was almost universally hated.

My pal is in the middle of divorcing her LVM. It's amazing the promises they will make to keep you around. Wouldn't you know? This useless, porn sick, couch potato became the husband of her dreams over night. She also didn't fall for it and said NEXT, goodbye. I admire women like you and her -- ya'll are prime examples of take no shit! Love to see it.

When it’s not people recommending communication or reviewing five love languages, it’s thinly veiled misogyny in the form of the woman “clearly overreacting” (see Am I The Asshole - some of the comments on that -husband eating cookies that wife made for a friends bday- post had me fuming... then again I sometimes go to controversial to remind myself what kind of men to avoid).

I can tell from your posts that you’re in a lot of pain right now. You really should not blame yourself. As you said, he’s a manipulator and an asshole. His family sounds shitty as well. I’ve also let undeserving men into my intimate life. It hurts when they show their true selves. Know that taking time to yourself away from others can be good for healing. Read your favorite book, watch your favorite show or movie, catch up on journaling. Find things to fill up your time and the feelings will ea…

Super red flag. Especially scenarios that when you show any sign of emotion/concern for the relationship, you are “now acting just like crazy ex gf.”

I definitely agree that she‘s awful, and I’m sure she was stirring up some nasty shit before the video started. But I hate reading comments from men who seemingly want to gleefully punch her based on her gender (although they keep this hidden). I took a curious look at pussypassdenied a few weeks ago and, unsurprisingly, men would love to lay hands on a woman with the excuse of eQuAL RiGhTs. That being said, I would also want to slap the woman in this video.

Absolutely disgusting. I’m detaching myself from a FWB situation that drove me crazy (I cared for him deeply, but I was clearly just a consistent hook up). We had a rough patch last month (not over his ex), and he immediately slept with someone else, although we were “exclusive.” A few weeks ago he tried to propose a threesome with her and that’s how I found out about it. Sickening. This sub is saving my mental health from continuing to be dragged around by him.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 11:52 PM

My immediate thought is leave him on read. I’m not sure if men think about it this deeply but if you never open the message, that leaves room for excuses like “maybe she lost her phone” or “maybe she deleted the app” or something similar. Opening it and not responding is a clear “I saw this and I’m ignoring you.” Then again, I’m always super tempted to respond even if my immediate impulse is to leave him on read.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/05/20 11:43 PM

This all feels so much like reading about myself. I found this sub literally three days ago and it’s so refreshing to read similar experiences and recognize that a) it seems to be universal that scrotes pretend to be boyfriends to get pussy, b) that’s not my fault, and c) there are strategies to make sure I’m not fooled again.
