Yes they are still banned. And worse, the IFC (the governing board for fraternities at UVA) are proposing changes and restrictions to how fraternities operate going forward.

I'm a UVA student and to be honest I would have felt uncomfortable voicing any dissent during the initial reaction to the article. People were so outraged that I would have been attacked as a rape apologist if I voiced any skepticism.

Unfortunately, I'd have to agree with his advice. Without going into too much detail, I had to pack up and move half way across campus and I lost ~$10,000 because I made out with a girl in my dorm room and her RA blew it up into some big situation. She went along with it initially, but then she became unresponsive, but that didn't stop the administration from fucking me.

I almost don't even want to settle down because of that. No way am I gonna marry some girl who's had more guys inside of her than...well, over 20? Wtf?

I was thinking of doing the Big Lebowski, but that's just, like, my opinion.

Funny, the girl who falsely accused me of sexual assault several months ago had the last name Costello. Not the same person obviously, but just ironic for me.

Unfortunately, I don't have a smart phone yet. Hopefully I'll be getting one later this year.

I want more than a friendship, but not sure if I'm really looking for a relationship with any of these girls.

Not too much you can do stuck in the office or lab for 6-8 hours a day, but point taken.

Limiting alcohol, sure. But cutting it out completely? Not something I agree with. I would just have some relatively nice liquors and some ingredients to make good drinks. 1 recommendation is to get some 1800 Tequila. It's great for tequila shots, which are fun, and it works for making margaritas and other simple, but nice drinks, like a tequila sunrise. My best is the mojito. I have a pot where I grow mint, so I always have some on hand. Then all you have to do is get soda water, limes (which a…

What I got from that: The integrated man simply does not care anymore.

for every human anyone has ever befriended or loved was once a stranger This I liked a lot. It made me think of people who I am close to and who they once were before I was close to them. Definitely something I'll keep in mind when approaching.

To be honest, some of the "nice guy" things actually are nice qualities for a person to have, but you've just spun them into bad qualities. Doing nice things for people and helping people out with favors doesn't make you a push over, it just makes you a pretty awesome person. Also, complaining about getting rejected, especially by a girl you like, is completely fine and natural. I'm just saying it's a fine line and there's some overlap.

It's almost a bit of a paradox. The more you care about getting the girl, the less likely you'll get her.

Warning, this does go off on a bit of a tangent, but I found it pretty introspective so I decided to post it in its entirety I do agree with your point about the passive mentality. I don't expect to just sit around and magically have an amazing girl walk into my life. I go to the gym and work out. I work hard in school. I dress well. I go out and meet people at parties or social events. So it is clear I am putting forth effort, however, I am still single. Why? I like to think it's because I have…

Your section about "The One" is depressing. You make it sound like no matter who you end up with, they're a lousy option. I get that the general seduction community mantra is to avoid focusing on one girl and to expand to as many girls as you can, and that fine and dandy for me now at 19 years old, but I will continue to believe that there is a girl out there that will make me completely lose interest in other girls because she is a perfect fit for me.

When I want to initiate grinding with a girl, I usually approach from the side. I'll put my hand on the small of her back and lean in and ask "Would you like to dance?" 7 out of 10 times I'll get a yes and just slide my hand that's already on her to her waist on the opposite side, step behind, and get going. Note: I would not call this dancing. It's grinding. Dancing and grinding are not the same thing. It pains me when people use them synonymously ,but when you say "would you like to dance?" at…

I wish I could have a better relationship with my dad. I really do. But we're just such different people. We were raised in 2 completely different cultures and it just makes it hard to connect on a lot of things. We just never seem to see eye to eye.

First off, nice job. However, you probably know the dynamic of the lunch better than I do, but it was a little concerning that you were giving her so much attention. You did say her friends weren't being too inclusive though, so I guess there's not too much else you could've done. The hug thing has been addressed. Also, next time you write a FR, please just make up names. Unless her name really was Z, which would be awesome.

You're confusing socioeconomic status and social status. I think when they're talking about "status," they are referring more to socioeconomic status, or being "upper class." They say that your money doesn't matter. They go on to say in the article that social status is a determining factor (along with wit, charm, charisma, etc.). In PUA, demonstrating high value is raising your social status, not your socioeconomic status.

I know what you're saying. It is kinda depressing that it's all just a numbers game. It makes it less special in a way. It just makes it seem more calculated and cold. But at the same time, like other people are saying, you gotta meet as many people as possible to really find the perfect girl.

Well, the soaps are designed to kills 100% of bacteria, but the companies have to advertise as 99.9% because they can't guarantee that 100% of bacteria will be killed every time.

I'll be honest and say that I have not yet tested the full routine yet. I did test the part about the peripheral vision, and it worked, but I didn't go the whole way to K-close (I really wasn't trying to). I just came up with it after reading the book and thought it would be nice to share. You can completely ignore it and never use it if you don't think it'll be helpful. I'm pretty damn confident though that it would work and I'm gonna definitely put it to good use when I get back to college.

Hey, at least you tried. Pushing yourself to do things you're not comfortable with is how you get better at anything.

I've been friend-zoned by 2 girls I really liked in the past year and they both have texted me first on multiple occasions to start a conversation

I would like to say a big "fuck you" for making feel so inadequate. But seriously, very well done. Congrats and thanks for sharing

Wow. This stuff is so good. My only regret is wishing I had discovered it earlier. I keep thinking if I had discovered the community, and this subreddit, months ago, how different things could have turned out with some people. Well, no point in wishing what could've been. Only thing that matters is making the most of the present and future. Thanks for posting this stuff, it helps!

Not trying to be a downer, but sounds like some good luck to me. I can't tell you the number of times I got buzzed, exploded with energy and just spontaneously ask girls to dance only to have them walk away, give some BS excuse, or hide with her friends. Conversely, there have been very few times when it actually does work the way you described.

Dancing is pretty easy. As long as you put forth a good effort, you don't have to be good. If you're bad, then it's funny. If you're good, well then...you're good. You can't really go wrong if you're confident in what you're doing regardless of how good you really are.

So extremely true. I've been working out for about 7 months now and I just made this connection earlier today while at the gym actually.

But at the same time, unless girls are there with actual boyfriends, there's a reason they're going out to these places. It's not so they can stand around all night looking pretty but telling everyone to eff-off. They want people to approach them and engage them.

I think the philosophy for that is that it's ok to be with a lot of women so you can figure out what you like and don't like. So you know what you really want from them. And also, the more women you're with, the more likely you'll find someone you really like. Not saying I subscribe to that 100%, but I think that's the rationale.

Standing out in a positive way can also be pretty indirect. You could just stand out by being different. Not necessarily better or worse, although you could argue that being different is standing out in a positive way with regards to creativity.

Just be as direct as possible. "Excuse me Miss, but you're gorgeous, but I have to get back to work in 5 minutes. Where do you want to grab lunch tomorrow?"
