If you truly study pickup and don't hate women, you're doing it wrong.

Your interpretation is predicated on the old adage "correlation does not imply causation." As such, you would be right to sound the alarm for such a dangerous pitfall. But as quarternion concurs, the study's implications weren't based on solely correlation but rather on 'women's desire to attract a mate' as the causative factor. That 'women might purchase lipstick to compensate for forgoing luxuries' may be true - but that specific phenomenon was not studied in this experiment.

First off, allow me to apologize for the unjustifiably sensationalist title - in hindsight, my assertion that women 'measure a man's worth' was out of scope with the article's claims. In the bar scene especially, the unabashed favoritism of women over men astounds me. Bars unapologetically allow attractive women to skip any and all lines, offer 'ladies nights' where prices are slashed for women, and create an atmosphere hostile to men. Commonplace is the occurance of a peeved woman intentionally spilling a drink on a man who - for fear of shedding his 'manliness' - cannot retaliate. No matter how big or small the slight, women maintain the distinct privilege of acting in acco…

Rogan underscored a muffled yet ubiquitous trend of men pandering themselves to bossy, pretty women in exchange for sexual gratification. This is a wake-up call for women who feel that their skin-deep 'assets' justify arrogance and disrespect towards men. He sums up our alarmingly muted sentiments in proclaiming "I'm not your boyfriend, I don't need to listen to your stupid shit" in order to ground her back to reality.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
