Security is absolutely the most important thing. Consider that in a pregnancy, the woman assumes 100 percent of the risk. She's the one carrying the fetus to term. She's the one that could die in childbirth. Then when the child is born, most often than not, women are still assuming the majority of the risk for that child. She's more often than not the one who feeds it and raises it until it can protect itself. She's the one keeping care of the household. She's the caregiver, the nurturer (or at …

Notting Hill! Julia Roberts says it to Hugh Grant. I used to love rom-coms. Now I can barely stomach any of them.

I hate "are we still on for X?" How about, "hey, I'm so excited to see you tonight for X!" Or "really looking forward to seeing you today!" As an insecure introvert, when I hear "are we still on?", I actually hear "hey, I'm not really into this and I'm hoping you aren't either." I often feel like a vampire: if you want me to go somewhere with you, you have to ask me to go with you. I'm not coming unless you invite me!

My love of rom-coms (rom-cons?) is completely destroyed after FDS! And that's probably okay 😊

I just rewatched this one. It used to be one of my favourite rom-coms because Ginnifer Goodwin is just adorable but...yeah, seeing it through an FDS lens, I was mostly just furious. Her character made such good strides towards being independent and self-assured but as soon as the womanizing dick said the "right" words, everything was a fairy tale again. Women don't need LVM to validate our existences. We are queens.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/03/20 02:46 AM

No, her father is a LVM, and I'd even argue a negative-value man. I'm so proud of Megs for cutting him out of her life.

Had her own career and didn't need a man's money. Cut out so many toxic people in her life. Smart and sexy.

It's nice to read a HVM story that isn't about him buying presents. I feel like, while presents are great, simply buying a woman's affection doesn't count for shit if you're still an emotionally cold, lip service kind of guy.

I hooked up with this guy a few times who was fun but he never once made me orgasm. When I mentioned that to him one morning, he looked at me confused and said, "But we had sex for an hour last night?" Yes, we did and not once did he put his hands or mouth on my genitals. What world are men living in that they think the mere presence of their dick is sufficient to cause a woman to orgasm? I've also lost track of the number of sex partners I've have who think rubbing my clit like they are trying …

Literally all FDS is is telling women that we should have standards. That's it. Anyone butt hurt about the very basic concept that we should value ourselves and our time is substandard and mad about it. Want to be with us, men? Do better. Bring more to the table. Like the cash to cover the bill.

I feel similar pain. I work in a kitchen and the number of LVMs trying to score a last-minute Valentine's Day reservation tonight when we've been fully booked for weeks makes me want to laugh-cry.

Or have had too many sex partners or not enough. Who are indecisive about where to go for dinner but hate women who are "pushy". Wants a woman who stands up for herself but not too much. Literally all these men want is a sex doll.

The wedding pic is her with her dog! I highly approve of her and the dog moving on. She's also giggling about her husband on Twitter and saying he still thinks she should work out like J-Lo. UGH!!!

Giving unsolicited gifts is a technique called "loan-sharking". Predators like to do this because it puts you in their debt. Nice people give gifts without the expectation of reciprocation. Trust your gut; if it feels bad, it probably is. Also anyone who won't accept the word "no" is low value and should be avoided at all costs.

Whoa! I was not expecting this story to turn out how it did at all. He lost me at "I cry at chick flicks" and then he pivots to "when I was 12, my dad murdered my mom"?! Thank you for sharing this. I went through a world of emotions. I really like what he has to say about forgiveness.

This is exactly it: we here at FDS have recognized it is not only okay but necessary to have standards! The only people who disagree with this are those who don't think women should have their own minds.

I'm not gonna claim I have any answers; I've got 10 years on ya and still make the same mistakes I've been making since I started dating. But I'm not gonna beat myself up about them anymore and I'm gonna stop tearing myself down. I've always been a self-deprecating martyr in a lot of ways and it's not worth it. I'm not saying don't be picky. By all means be picky! I'm saying the whole terminology around virginity is gross, disempowers women, and turns us into objects to be acted upon. We aren't "losing" anything, we are choosing to have sex. Or not have sex.

Definitely had a dude DM me after I made a comment about cutting a male friend off who was being creepy. The DM demanded to know exactly what I said to the guy, implying that I had not been crystal clear in my boundaries or was maybe stringing the creep along. Once I dispelled the DMer of that notion, I demanded to know why he was asking me at all. "I'm just curious about people," he said. "By why me?" I asked. "Why are you messaging a complete stranger to question their actions at all? That is …

I've been on Tinder for all of two weeks now and I'm fully ready to pull the plug. The messages have been borderline worthless. I'd say 30 percent immediately ask for an outside contact number. The majority are just looking for a hook up. Most guys haven't put effort in beyond a "hey what's up". And the one guy I have good banter with got quiet and disappeared once I suggested going on a date. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I put humour and effort into my profile. There are at least a dozen things in there they could as…

Most of what I know is found in the Wikipedia article about it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silphium. The references section had some more readings about it!

Silphium is an ancient plant and abortifacient that was literally picked into extinction because so many women used it to end pregnancies. These women need to read a book.

Legit question: how do you convince other people of this? (Or can you even?) I have a pal who is obviously living in Mixed Signals Land and I am tired of playing therapist. Edit: on second thought, I don't need advice. This friend is OBVIOUSLY A FUCKING DUDE and uses me for therapy. I told him that if the woman he's hung up about isn't FUCK YES, she's HELL NO and then he very quickly got off the phone with me. It drives me crazy that so many men expect us to do their emotional labour for them, to feel their feelings for them. Buddy, I got enough shit on my plate; stop offloading your trauma onto me.

Or maybe you should give this group of women the benefit of the doubt when we recount our real, lived experiences. We aren't exaggerating or hating on men; these are things that have happened to us. These are standards we are setting for ourselves and that all women should set for themselves. Women are human beings: treat us with respect.

I had a male friend who would not stop turning convos sexual. I told him very straightforwardly multiple times that I was not interested in those conversations; I didn't want to read his Tinder profile or talk about his sex life or lack there of or anything like that. He would say he understood but continued to turn every conversation into a treatise on his sex life. So I told him he was disgusting, that I was baffled as to why he didn't respect me enough to respect my boundaries, and blocked hi…

I hate the whole, "I'm just being honest" thing. No, you're just being a fucking creep! Do you text your male friends about wanting to stick your dick in them? Then don't text me about it.

Glaring red flags: he makes you feel like garbage about yourself--he verbalizes how you're never pretty enough or thin enough or smart enough and he's doing you a massive favour by spending time with you. Subtle red flags: he makes you feel like garbage about yourself--he never says anything nice about your appearance or your brain or your personality. He just..doesn't think you're important enough to waste the breath.

It's curious that you ignored a man's wishes and continued to repost his personal story despite he specifically saying NO. I wonder... do you treat women the same way? Ignoring the very clear things they are saying because you feel entitled to whatever? It's almost like you're someone who is living in their own little entitled fantasy land and thinks other people are merely pawns for their own amusement and not living, breathing entities with their own agency. Hmmm.....

As a Canadian, I focused mainly on Canada and US examples. And I mainly focused on things from the last year. I could have written about a million more issues but I considered my primary audience. Hi guys. I'm the one who wrote the article. I expected nothing less from all of you. I'm sorry you feel so threatened by women talking about how poorly women are treated. I'm not sure why you hate women so vehemently. Obviously you've has bad experiences with women in your lives and now you take that out on all women. One day I hope you can find some love and empathy for women. Without us, none of you would exist. Take care.
