I work in a shop of 15 guys...2 have SO's. Us single guys are always laughing at the shit they're bitching about. We're not that young either. All of us but 2 are hover around 40. A couple do have kids but have full custody. I make sure to point out to the younger guys the stories they hear from the attached guys and REMEMBER them.

I regard to getting your car fixed, most of the vehicle manufacturers have made it so hard for the technician to make money that many good ones have left for other industries. We have a very hard time finding people with any mechanical ability. Or even follow simple instructions. Mechanics are usually paid by the job but when the manufacturers make a crap product or are run poorly, they save money by cutting the labor time. They get away with it because the techs work for an independent dealer. …

I was voluntarily homeless for a couple of years cause I didn't need space. Only reason I ended up buying a small house was so my dogs had a place of their own. I had the money to do whatever I wanted but just didn't see the need for one at the time. Still isn't much in it.

Many don't make that much, I'm one of th highest paid in my state and make 40. Some places in Texas before the oil price crash were up to 60. If she's working at a dealership the companies have the labor time set at less time than it takes for most people. The manufacturers steal time to cover the losses from faulty designs. I've got a yard full of 89-96 Ford trucks, my favorive vintage and the most reliable. I've worked at as Ford dealer tech for 20 years and the are the cheapest to fix and insure and with rust so common here, no point in driving a nice one all the time. Besides I'm always hauling wood, scrap, etc and don't want something real nice. Not to say I wouldn't love a new Raptor, Ford pisses me off so much I'd never give them a dime for a new vehicle.

Chihuahua's can be great dogs. I have 5. My oldest won't be around too much longer I'm afraid. She's 20 and I've had her since she was 2. Rescued her from some people that were going to put her down because her skin allergies were so bad she didn't have any hair left and her skin was in horrible shape. They were too cheap to take her to the vet. I also have her daughter that's almost 14. Her granddaughter is 10 and great grand daughter is 6.

You really have to watch some schools. UTI and I think WYOTECH turned out shit candidates mostly. A lot of the programs don't even have you touch a car, if they did it was more like hot rod stuff. Most of best techs I've worked with had little schooling. Reading comprehension is KEY. Most of the time the pinpoint test the manufacturer wrote will get you headed the right way. They're always adding stuff to cars that there is no training on, just read the manual especially the theory and operation…

Most shops are short on techs. It's not the greatest job by any means but it's pretty easy to get started on a lube rack and work your way up. I'm a high school dropout but am a Master certified dealer tech and made 105k last year in the Midwest. I'm not normal through. I have a tendency to go overboard learning things on my own that I'm interested in. But anybody who can fix stuff correctly the first time without breaking more will make good money. There's more to describe but that's the gist.

Get more. I have 5 chihuahuas, from 5-20 years old. The younger ones play some but the older ones mostly sleep. My 20 yr old one can sleep for 14+ hours straight, without any bathroom breaks. Where they stay during the day has tile plus puppy pads just in case I'm real late.

I'm also a tech and deal with the same issues. The conflicting warranty procedures that don't get figured into a time study were a pain, but I studied the policy manual and now use their own rules against them to get "actual time." I'm a high school dropout and am on par to make 120k this year, but I like to work at least 6 days a week doing almost all warranty transmission work.

In Michigan it isn't. Almost a traffic tickets are civil infractions. Reckless driving is a misdemeanor, but they don't like giving them out because it then has to be proven in a regular court.There is no statutory limit for speeding that automatically makes it reckless.

Good Luck! My uncle is one of the oldest people alive in the US with type 1. I think he's 62. His eyes and feet are still great.
