Even if you're a cool person, it just reeks of a desperate attempt to have a conversation. Even "how's the weather" sounds better or "how's your day going". 2	The start of a conversation when i was single i would say random silly things like "i just took a 10 min shower, 9 of those were spent shaving my beard". I say these things to my gf now. If youre just getting to know someone i would tell them ive made plans to go somewhere with friends (or solo), and i want them to join... "hey long day at work, going to the rotating sushi bar to wind down. Join" or whatever.
