I think it’s region specific. Like if you’re a Christian from the southern states(Kerala, Tamil Nadu )they have heavy gold criteria which stems from Hindu ancestral practices But if you look at the north eastern Christians or from Goa, dowry doesn’t exist. Depends on the region. Also isn’t the Hindu property act different caste to caste ? Some of the societies have maternal inheritance rights other are predominantly patriarchal in that respect.
