It can be a cope, but it can also be a response to people who think men cheat because their partner isn’t hot or successful enough.

Nope. I’m a working professional. My degrees and accomplishments are under MY last name. I have a colleague who is in the process of changing her name to her husband’s and it’s been nothing but a hassle for her. No thanks.

For me, if I don’t want to go to an event, or if I don’t feel comfortable there, the conversation seems 100% stupider than it would if I did want to be there or if I was having fun. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Even the title of the book pisses me off. Like it or not, if you publish a book called Why Men Love Bitches, you are normalizing women being called bitches. Also, who cares what men, as a group, love? Last I checked, we are about decentralizing men’s desires and prioritizing our own desires. I don’t need advice on how to fit myself into a mold that some man will like and appreciate… I’ve spent a lifetime learning how to do that; it’s called living in society.

I have never seen FDS argue that physical characteristics make a man LV or HV. All FDS says is that women should date men we find attractive. We don’t need to be shamed for not finding certain features attractive. LV or HV is really more about how a man treats the people around him and whether he has his emotional/financial/intellectual shit together. Is he a good partner, son, friend, colleague? A short man or a bald man or whatever can certainly be HV. BUT if a woman rejects a man because he i…

I watched this movie over Thanksgiving and I had the exact same thought. There was a really small plot point that his real/non-catfish pictures were terrible and did not highlight the best parts of him, but I don’t think the movie did nearly enough to flesh that out. Instead there was WAY too much uncritical leaning into the “nerdy/unattractive Asian guy” angle that was just flat-out racist!

When men sing about women, it’s about how great it is to TAKE pleasure using women’s bodies. When women sing about men, it’s about how great it is to use their bodies to GIVE pleasure to men. So… who is really empowered?

What really gets me is like… if I was planning to trick someone like that, I would NOT be able to enjoy the date. First of all, if I have such a low opinion of the person that I plan to trick them into losing money, why would I want to voluntarily hang out with that person for hours on end? Even if Top Golf is fun, is it really fun to be stuck with someone you clearly don’t give a shit about? To me… no. Second, if I knew I was going to trick someone like that, I would DREAD seeing them. I would …

What these people don’t get is that I have accepted this possibility. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’m not entitled to a relationship. If it doesn’t happen then it just doesn’t happen. Anyway, I would rather die alone than get dragged down by an unfulfilling relationship. Women generally live longer than men so we’re probably going to “die alone” regardless.

TBH, as someone who grew up in a religious community/area (but not in a religious household, thankfully), I do not believe that FDS or even feminism can be compatible with the religion I am most familiar with, which is Christianity. And honestly, when I am vetting, I eliminate religious men. ESPECIALLY Abrahamic religious. Because guess what? These men would never, ever, EVER believe in a religion that teaches men to keep silent, be a helpmeet to their wives, let their wife be the head of the ho…

I think that if two people are exclusive and both are committed and invested in a relationship, it is generally the right thing to do to let the other person know it’s not working out. It certainly may take a lot more than 3 dates to get to this stage. Of course, this goes out the window if there are any concerns about safety.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/10/21 07:18 PM
109

If you are like… 3 dates or fewer (totally arbitrary but basically the stage where you still don’t really know each other or have anything invested), ghosting is fine and in many cases better than having a conversation. I really don’t understand these people who hate ghosting at the 3 dates or fewer point. I mean, if someone stops messaging you, that’s rejection loud and clear… it’s not like you’re in limbo. You don’t need them to spell it out for you because everyone knows that a person who is …

If a man is so “dense” that he can’t pick up on basic signals of attraction, he should not be dating. If a man cannot function in a social setting, he should not be dating. If a man fears rejection, he should not be dating.

If we, in this community, can collectively wake up to the fact that sexism is a pervasive, insidious form of oppression that affects nearly every aspect of our lives and every relationship and interaction we have, WHY can we not also accept that the same is true of racism?

That you should not be flattered if an ex comes back. It’s not because you were so unforgettable or the best he could ever do (although, these things may be true… but that’s not why he’s reaching out). He’s reaching out because he’s bored and wants attention, and he thinks you’re pathetic enough to indulge him. It’s an insult. That moment he reaches out is the most interest he will ever have, so just leave it there. That message is the pinnacle of anything you will ever have. The instant you res…

“Chasing begins in the mind.” This blew my mind just now. Such a succinct way of putting it. I have gotten much better about not chasing men in real life. But, I am so bad about building them up in my head. I always thought it was harmless fantasizing, but I really can get all excited about a man I don’t even know just because he’s my type. I start imagining future scenarios immediately. I don’t really know how to stop myself, but it does really help to frame this behavior as chasing a man rathe…

I had to unfollow a certain subreddit that is against work because there was so much pro-sex work content on there, almost certainly always posted by men, and always about how manual labor is selling your body just like sex work, implying that sex work is more legitimate than manual labor. I’m not so sure you can’t get a restraining order. Based on what you’ve described - being, quite rationally, in fear for your safety, due to his throwing/breaking things and his attempts to break the lock - you might be able to get one, depending on the laws in your location. If there is a DV resource center in your area, definitely consider calling them to discuss the process of obtaining a restraining order. Lol for real! At my job, we have a department meeting every week... the only personal milestones/achievements that get recognized in front of the team (other than work-related stuff, like completing a project) are engagements, weddings, and births.

Yes! It’s easy to get confused, because in some cases, a man being successful in his career can point to really good traits - he could be hardworking, tenacious, ambitious, intelligent, savvy, responsible, and able to provide for a family. But, none of it means anything if he’s not a caring and committed partner. Vet, vet, vet.

In a thread like this, you will see women give a million reasons why, in their particular case, they changed their name. And that’s fine. But let’s be real - 99.99% of men would NEVER do the same. Not if their name was hard to pronounce. Not if they hated their dad. Not ever.

I agree. I have no issue with the term Karen because it refers to a specific and unfortunately common behavior wherein white women leverage racial privilege and stereotypes specific to white femininity to intimidate/harass a person of color. This absolutely happens. I do take issue when men grab onto the term and use it to denigrate women in general... men love to find reasons to tear down women and get women to shut up. But I see the two issues as separate. Karen is a real racist phenomenon. Wo…

One of my biggest pickme regrets is seeing men coming back as a compliment. I saw it as a sign that I was irresistible and irreplaceable, but now I know it’s the exact opposite. It’s an insult both to you and the women he dated between the relationship with him ending and when he reached out later. It’s an embarrassment. I have a colleague, who I otherwise liked, tell me he didn’t vote in 2016 because he felt both choices were bad and he didn’t like that HRC’s stance on gay marriage had evolved over time (AKA she wasn’t trustworthy). Stuff like this is why I regret wasting my 20s on frantically chasing after male validation by doing everything possible to be conventionally attractive. Women are sold this LIE that if only we are attractive, our lives will be awesome. It’s not true. Yes, being attractive comes with social perks, and in some ways, health and attractiveness are intertwined (example: it’s great to be fit and a healthy weight). But, attractiveness alone will not get you what you want. Plenty of men are willing to …

Rape is an expression of power/control. Of course it is about sex, because the method of exerting power/control is through forcing another person to engage in sexual acts against their will. To say it is only about sex ignores reality. The gratification comes from the power inherent in forcing another person to endure it, not simply from the sexual activity.

These men who really, really, really care about “closure” do not actually want closure. Their so-called desire for “closure” can be translated as one of two things: 1.) They want an opportunity to either insult the woman in the most sexist and grotesque terms possible to make themselves feel better about being rejected OR 2.) They want to harass the woman into explaining herself so that they can make all efforts possible to gaslight her into changing her mind Is it nice to get closure? Sure. And…

This is blaming women for the actions of a man. And it doesn’t even make sense. He cheats because he’s an asshole. Maybe it’s easier to delude yourself into thinking you’re better than other women than it is to admit that you wasted time with an asshole. But, it is what it is.

To me, religiosity in a man, especially for Abrahamic religions, is a red flag. Abrahamic religions are fundamentally misogynistic (and before anyone gets into the “it’s just the culture not the religion itself” argument - ok fine, the nearly universal cultural expression of Abhrahamic religions is misogynistic). Why wouldn’t a man get deep into religion? Religion favors him. It tells him he’s the head of the house, the moral authority, the decision maker, the person who can sit in judgment of o…

Honestly, I feel like there’s no reason to judge women who DON’T WANT to get married and are with men who also don’t want it. The clownery comes when a woman wants to be married but accepts some man’s endless excuses about why he can’t marry her. Now, we have no way of knowing if she wanted to get married but got worn down by her partner’s refusal - it’s possible, considering they did get engaged. Conflict of interest isn’t so much the issue here... it’s violation of confidentiality (she is telling everyone what her client told her in confidence and anyone who knows her ex-bf will know exactly who she is talking about) and lack of candor to the court/professionalism (she is saying she’s going to “rip off” the husband which indicates that she not going to handle this case in a way that respects the laws).

Tbh, I agree with this except for calling women “roasties”. That is a term that was dreamed up by degenerate men to degrade and shame women. Let’s throw out all the terms men use to describe women... those terms do nothing for us. Using them and legitimizing them only benefits men who hate us.

I always just think about female celebrities - they are some of the most beautiful, successful, popular, sexy, wealthy women on earth, and they routinely get cheated on and dumped. 🤷🏻‍♀️ We are so trained to believe that if only we are [inset any number of ridiculous standards women have to adhere to] we will be worthy of a long-lasting and loving relationship. But there is NO formula for that.

Glad you’re out of it, too! IMO, a good man would never even ask for nudes because it’s such a risk for the woman. Sending nudes is just one of those things that this woman-hating society brainwashes girls into thinking is fun, sexy, and empowering when it’s really the exact opposite.

As nice as this sounds, it’s almost certainly fake... at least if it’s in the US. Example: defamation of character involves saying something untrue about another person. There are other factors to consider, too. But posting nudes, while disgusting, isn’t saying something untrue about another person. Also, one of the reasons why “revenge porn” is so hard to prosecute is that the courts have to establish that the boyfriend (in this case) took the picture and uploaded it to the internet with the in…

But, personally, I could never respect a man who is cheating, and I could never give anything up to a man I don’t respect. I would not want him anywhere near me. Thank you for taking the time to reply and share your story... I am so glad you got out. Yes, abuse in relationships is hard to see clearly/understand both from the inside and the outside. I’m sure there are specific instances in which a guy may correctly point out that his girlfriend’s friend/s are toxic, but 99% of the time it’s because he is insecure and wants to isolate her. For me, when I say marriage, I mean a formal commitment. It doesn’t have to be an expensive wedding, a church wedding, or anything else. It could simply be a matter of going to the city hall. And, you’re not a forever girlfriend (in my opinion) if YOU don’t want the marriage. The forever girlfriend wants to be married, but her partner refuses.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy16/05/20 11:51 PM

How long were they together? She wasn’t a forever girlfriend if they were together two years or less, in my opinion. The forever girlfriend phenomenon is when a relationship drags on for years... like, 5-10 years... and the girl wants to get married and the guy doesn’t.

Sooooo often, the guy who “isn’t ready” for years and years when he’s with his forever girlfriend will propose to his new girl within 6 months. Being a forever girlfriend just sets you up to be devastated when the relationship ends, because it WILL end, either when the forever girlfriend finally gets fed up, or, even worse, when he meets the girl he actually wants to be with.

IA, and also, it seems like psychopath men hurt cats while building up to humans. You rarely hear about a psychopath hurting dogs. Why is that? I think there are two foundations of FDS that seem related but are in fact different. Foundation 1: Achieve financial independence so that you don’t have to settle for a LVM or NVM just to get the help you need to pay the bills.* Being financially independent lets you be more choosy about your partner AND gives you freedom to walk away if he starts showing red flags.
