I can relate to having a father that encouraged masculinity and independence from me. I have a brother, but he was never particularly helpful, so I became my father's honorary 'son.' I was the child he called on to help him build or fix things, and I was also the one he placed high academic and career expectations on. I spent much of my childhood as a tomboy and viewed feminine things as frivolous and idiotic. Breaking free from that mindset was incredibly challenging. Another commenter mentione…

I firmly believe in the six-month rule—the idea that within six months, a man knows whether he wants to marry you. If he doesn't see a future with you by that point, he's wasting your time. My parents are a testament to the 6-month rule as well; my dad just knew my mom was the one and proposed to her after only six months of dating. They've been happily married for 21 years now.

There are many women interested in these things, just don't be quick to judge a book by its cover. I'm someone who wears sundresses and pink a lot, but I'm also a Math Major who loves Virtual Reality, technology, conservative politics, and the like. The most ideal place to find women with similar interests would be college, but if that window has already closed, the internet is a wonderful way to meet people as well.

I would never give up on waiting for marriage, I'm just recognizing that it isn't ideal to regard men in an arms-length manner. It simply isn't desirable.

I'm really interested in reading the whore/virgin spectrum article but am having trouble finding it. Do you have a link!?

flirting always felt “cringy” to me, like I was trying to imitate a cliche harlequin protagonist I'm the say way right now! I know that flirting is an art and would help me a lot, I just have that mental block —it doesn't feel like me.

I've been on a plant-based diet for 10 years and I still try to make meals for my omnivore family. Since I can't taste things, I just let them do it. I will say though, that after years of not eating meat, I developed an intolerance for the smell of it cooking. When it comes to foods that are very fragrant like bacon, pork, eggs, or beef, I can't even stand in the kitchen without dry heaving. What I can make my loved ones is very limited because of this.

I honestly feel the same, I just don't want my future husband to see me that way. It's controversial now, but it's not weird at all, most women used to feel the same way before the 70's. Men were even banned from the delivery room in the past, but men pushed back against that. There's even an old ABC interview where you can observe people's attitudes on the matter. Men were largely pro men-in-the-delivery-room, and women were mostly against it.

This is so lovely! I've had a similar path in life where I viewed femininity as weakness and pushed against it with everything in me. There's something so freeing about finally embracing it.

Drink Yerba Mate, try CICO, and focus on losing only 1-2 pounds a week. It's slow but 1-2lbs a week comes out to 54-108lbs a year. Trying to speed things up and restricting more will only lead to binging so take things slow. Also, I am a curvier black woman too and while losing weight absolutely helps, you can actually attract any race of men that you want as long as you're really feminine, welcoming, present, and friendly. Something as simple as a kind smile and a compliment can make any man fa…

There's literally no "racist non-sense" from the interviewee in the article? It's just the journalist doing backflips trying to twist it into a race thing.

I so badly want to, I just want to block it out and act like the whole thing never happened, but it feels like that would be dishonest. Is it? Like if a guy asked if I was a virgin, would it be immoral if I omitted that I've sent pictures?

Perhaps that’s true, but there’s even studies showing that women of my race are the least desirable overall, especially in Europe. It’d be very difficult to find a LTP there, it’s also difficult here in America (only 33% of BW will find a husband), but at least being traditional and religious over here puts me ahead of some women.

Here in America I think I’m very average, i’m not pretty or or ugly, maybe to some people, but i think in Russia an American 5 translates to a 3 lol. There are many beautiful women there and i don’t fit the standard. I haven’t traveled there yet, but i do have some Russian friends and my city has some beautiful Eastern European Cathedrals I’ve seen.

Personally i prefer very traditional Orthodox Christian Men, which is why my first choice would be Eastern Europe. It’s almost perfect as i’ve already studied Russian in highschool, but realistically i wouldn’t be desirable there.

Thank you for your perspective. Out of curiosity do you think it’s worth it for traditional American women to find a good spouse abroad as well? The American dating culture seems very unnatural and draining for all.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
