The "I see a non-alcoholic beer he might like, I buy it for him" is the kicker for me. Unless he really is a teetotaler that is some controlling shit.

Sounds like the way my marriage went. Many times I was told that I hang the washing wrong or the way I mop the floor is wromg. I do not know why this is like this. So many men complain of the same thing. I guess women wanted us to help with chores but now they are unhappy because it is not up to their standards?

Then they were not real friends to start with, forget about them. The husband of a marital friendship told his wife that he has his opinion and she has hers but he is not going to choose sides in ny divorce ... We are best of friends now.

I initiated. It makes things easier as you can plan and make sure all is in place before making the step. My daughter is doing fine. But, if you just want to divorce on religious grounds maybe talk to her?

So, why do women resort to using sex as a weapon. This seems to happen in so many marriages. Is it some inborn strategy? Do they discuss it with each other and give it as advice? To answer your question... I have had more sex after divorce than in 15 years of marriage

I would not have coped with my divorce if I didn't go to therapy. Never been before and probably never after but... My divorce was bigger than me and therapy helped me untangle my feelings and hate.

The fact she said she loves you but not in love with you is long for "I have checked out". My ex said the same to me and I have seen this being posted on this sub numerous times. I am sorry brother...

Been in this exact situation. During one therapy session the therapist said we should say the one thing that would not make the marriage work. I said if physical contact and intimacy does not improve, I am walking. After the session,my ex wife told me "I can forget it because that is not who she is". I realized she is not prepared to ffix things and she has checked out. My friend, I am sorry but I think you are in the same situation.

Thanks! She is playing the victim. I have only been good to her but the internal demons she has and is not prepared to fight, has brought us to this point. I, myself have changed so much over the years. She has made me "mush" and even now, she makes me feel like I am at fault for everything and she makes me want to apologize. We have been to 5 therapists already (all initiated by me) and we still cannot make it work.

I am keeping the house as the liability is too much and I pay on my own. She is moving out end November, giving her time to get a place of her own. She told me she will leave stuff for me and I told her to take everything as I do not want anything of hers. I think she knows she does not have space for her shit and want to palm it off on me, hehehehe

Not directly... She never wants to go with on social events (pre covid) and it ended in a fight because I needed her to be with me there. Most of the time she did not want to go because she did not like that one or did not want to see people. She embarrassed me soooo many times by the way she acts and the things she said at these events. One time, we were sitting with a friend of mine, his wife an another couple. She just blurted out: " I hate other women and chatting with them. I would rather b…

Our divorce laws are not as strict as overseas fortunately. Obviously it favours the woman but we are married Out of Community of Property with procurement which basically means we started at 0 balance when we got married and all assets acquired after the wedding date are then split evenly after liabilities have been deducted. She is not one to make the court case hell. She will also just split all evenly and I will pay child support as she has a job that pays almost as much as mine. Edit : Mayb…

I am at that point. She is currently in a terrible mood about something and I am just ignoring it. I am also at a point that if she flips about something, I just smile and make light of it ... she HATES that! I am not one for exercise. I eat healthy and I do mountain bike but off-road so only over weekends. I do eat healthy and I am not overweight. I am thinking of joining a club or something, just to meet people.

Respect? Love? Appreciation? None of that. And you know, she fucking manipulates me by taking away cuddling, hugs, physical warmth and sex when I have been bad or she is in a mood. I'll reach out to you!

Exactly! I also get treated like a child. Do not sell yourself short and let her walk over you by having the ""I want nothing" attitude, a lawyer will eat you for breakfast.

When you said : "the goalposts will always be moving, you can never possibly do enough and if you do the definitions will change" it clikced! That is exactly what it is. She is constantly moaning about stuff (cleaning and dishes) but when I ask to do tasks, she tells me that I will only do it wrong and not the way she wants to. Thank you!

Hey man, thank you for your words. And I feel you ... for me it is the constant "hope" that she will just reach out to you and touch or give a hug. And, it is a need, not an urge or horniness ... a NEED! I will most certainly reach out to you!

I will get the book, thank you. Your string analogy is a good one. During the last therapy, we both had to say what our "Final Straw" was. Hers was I needed to do more around the house. Mine was I need physical affection and feeling loved. I came to the table... She did not. She told me AFTER the therapy that if that is my need then she is sorry, but she is not going to satisfy it. Needless to say, I also felt a fuck after that. I told her the other day we are like brother and sister living toge…

Man, I feel you. But, being in something toxic is also not good. My wife and I attended therapy and I said all I wanted but nothing has changed from her side. It feels to me she is irritated and frustrated with me the whole time and I cannot do anything good in her eyes. I have a kid so not as easy as your situation. I also have no more friends left. She sucks the fun out of everything. My advice, write down the bad times and the good times. And see which one is more. Everyone deserves to be hap…
