Read that book I mentioned... it really helped me. The guy covers many issues you might be having: Why are you struggling with the decision, how do you know when is time to give up, how to have that difficult conversation, how to make sure you move forward, etc

Four years ago I would have said : "She does not believe in counselors or therapists. She is always right, it is all my fault, and is her way or the highway" Today, after many fights, she is starting to accept some fault, and counseling is an option. But I am exhausted and I want out. I cannot accept that I had to work so hard so that she gives in so little. Four grinding years so that she can accept basic common sense. I am done. I still love her at some level, but my life will be far richer wi…

I am not a shrink, but I had a lot of arguments with my wife (soon to be ex). Sometimes it helps me to think my wife as a kid - as a very immature kid that needs help. To think of her this way calms me down and makes me feel in control. With this mindset, you could approach your wife and tell her simply: "I think we have communication issues, and that a professional counselor can help us solve them. I am looking for a counselor, and I hope you will come with me. Until then, let's try hard not to…

This is what happens when there is a lot of anger. You might need some time to cool down. A good counseling session might be great (it depends on the quality of the counselor).

It might help. An empathetic counselor should be able to understand both sides and help you navigate these difficult waters - including how to avoid future communication problems. You need to be more proactive in a direction - fix it or leave it.

Your feelings are showing a healthy amount of self esteem. More concerning is the fact that she locked you out. Get an attorney ASAP to understand your situation from the legal perspective.

In the USA that is how it works. Pension plans are split. Inheritance are kept by the party that received it, unless it was somehow shared.

This is what you do: find out the details. Find out exactly how much you would have to pay her and for how long. Do the homework. Otherwise, worries will be just worries. 'Lean into' the problem and look at it closely. How much does it cost you over the next 10 years? Is your happiness worth that much? Can you imagine that life? Is it better than the current life?

If it is the question the concern, I would read 'Necessary Endings' By Henry Cloud. It really helped me with the decision, understanding the reason it was difficult to break up, and how to move forward. I heard it in audible over the weekend, and I was filling the following week.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
