Yeah my last paragraph was a bit of a tangent. And honestly I am ignorant of how all feminists may feel towards men. Yeah I didn't provide my ultimate conclusion. I think it's a positive feedback loop where both men and women think how men should be. These perceptions perpetuate the cycle of Toxic Masculinity, which is an external and internal male problem, but the effects affect primarily men and secondarily women. I definitely don't think it's a power struggle, but as you suggested that I did,…

Yeah what your arguing is really a premise for the way culture (American culture, especially) views men. Hidden Brain by NPR has a few good podcast episodes about the disposition of men. Ironically feminists like to think men are the soul of the problem and women should become more dominating and demand more rights, but the reality is that these same feminists also view some men as weaker which contributes to the cultural view of how maculinity "should" be thus contributing to the "plight of wom…

He seems seriously delusional. Hopefully he will seek out professional help. My father was the same way. But he's on meds now and he is better

Unless you want to develop an emotional attachment to people, you should probably stay detached and not give a fuck about how someone may make you feel. For instance, "What they say matters", "Their intentions matter", but "The way they make me feel doesn't matter." This is my tool for keeping distance from people. Toxic or not.

So you just edited your post. Uh... Just be sure about her intentions

From my subjective view this does not sound like an enthusiastic intention for her wanting you to come over. Be damn sure she intends to hang out with you. Don't show up uninvited

I guess he could be assertive about her behavior as well? I'm just not too adept on what he could say.

Honestly man if she doesn't respond to your texts, then most likely she isn't enthusiastic about talking to you. Sounds like a bitch just trying to get some attention when she doesn't have it. Been there done that. Sometimes people aren't worth a fuck. Sometimes they are not that interested and that'd fine too Edit: but yeah just see what she says. I wouldn't put much time into someone who doesn't respond. Honestly, I'm still very ignorant with women so take this with a grain of salt

I feel some sympathy should be shown for one's own neuroticism. It's left me paralyzed many times. But yeah man. Show your intentions and say what's up. Don't expect results from the interaction just have fun with her

I come from an emotionally abusive household. Looking for people's advice and what to do is the only way I've made progress. And of course... working on myself

This is exactly what I tell myself when I'm with a woman Do what's fun for you and bring her along Do and say what you feel is right (don't try to illicit elicit a response from her) Don't be afraid to be vulnerable BE UNASHAMED ABOUT IT If you disrespect her, calmly apologize and (if need to tell her) you don't intend to make her feel uncomfortable If it doesn't work out, then it wasn't meant to be... ON TO THE NEXT

And to be honest... I wasn't confident in myself to flirt until I came off my medication (which I really didn't need) and I started eating well, sleeping well, exercising, and meeting great people from all walks of life.

For me man. The way I started flirting is by touching their arm when they laugh and slowly escalating by touching other parts of their body (shoulders, neck, back). (I am a feely person) Do not touch their genitals unless you know the time is right. Trust me. You'd know. But do not hesitate when you think it is right... And if you get slapped. Simply apologize for making her feel uncomfortable. Do not over apologize.... After all you wanted to do it. Other ways of flirting is to make it seem lik…

Flirt with her and make it clear that it is a date not a "hang out." I've made that mistake before lol. This takes boldness. Women love that more than anything else.... Just make sure you are good at conversing too!
