5th year college student here. I was in the exact same boat as you. Here's what I've found to works for me. First, you can't have the mindset that "this conversation with this girl will change my life forever". It's a simple conversation. Just like any other with a dude or your grandma. You start a conversation because you are genuinely interested in knowing/sharing something. Not because you are trying to pick up a chick in class and trying to be this smooth dude. Example: A few weeks ago I was…

Use her friends as practice opportunities! I'm not saying spit game at her girl friends, but use them as an opportunity to practice conversing with ease! By default you now have more friends that are girls, and it's a win win situation: you have numerous opportunities to talk to new people, and your girl will appreciate the fact that you and her friends are getting along!

Good job. You saw someone else's mistake, internalized it, thought on your feet, and opened. Any progress is progress.

Thanks man I really appreciate it! :) I tried to make sure that we were touching in some way throughout the entire date, first just legs next to each other under the table, then arms on the table. Then when our thighs were touching for a little while I kinda just went for it to be honest. It should've been obvious to her that I was trying to have some sort of contact the whole time, so when I put my hand on her leg it wasn't "Why is he touching my leg??" but rather "Oh, he's touching my leg now"…

We all make mistakes, the only thing is that you have to learn from them! Don't be disappointed that it didn't work out, be glad that you made errors. Now you know exactly what to fix next time! When all of a girls friends are looking/talking about you and the girl, I think that's usually a good sign. They want her to get with you. They're jealous of the attention she's getting. They have nothing else to do but talk about their friend that's getting hit on by the only (and therefore attractive) …

You should be happy to know that I have another date tomorrow night with another girl I've already F-closed who's sleeping over again. I think you're totally right though, and I'm trying not to put all my eggs in one basket. Summer is two weeks away so if things are still moving slowly with "Lunch" girl after finals then we'll go from there. Truly trying to keep an abundance personality. I think I needed to hear it from someone else too.

Trust me, if you take what you want, they love it. Or at least she did.

I like this. It's innocent and playful yet I'm sure it yields results. I think I will be using this in the near future :)

There are tons of great bars on State Street. And there's definitely an abundance of college girls/young professionals out on the weekend.

You gotta walk before you can run! Maybe just go out and watch how other guys at the venue are approaching girls, have zero expectations.

If I saw a girl at a party whom I hadn't seen before, I would definitely take notice if she seemed really confident and social. It would make me wonder why I haven't met her before...

Ask them about themselves and their work- "Anything out of the ordinary happen today?" "Are you almost out of here?" Or if you recognize them/they recognize you- "You again!" "You're still here?" If they're wearing their name tag, call them by their name. It makes it obvious that you're paying attention, and everyone loves hearing their name said. When you leave, make eye contact and smile, and tell them to have a good one. (This is mostly for cashiers and the like).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
