After laying about the house all morning, i decided a trip to the mall would take some boredom off the rest of my day, so i drove over and hit up my local gamestop. After walking over to the xbox section, i happened to notice this tall, frat-looking guy hovering over this petite gamestop girl. As i pretended to look over some titles, i tuned in to their conversation and see what he had up his sleeve and closer inspection revealed he had...absolutely nothing. His hands were in his pockets, his posture was slumpy, as if he was trying to "play it cool", and his conversational threads ended one right after the other, since he was asking nothing but questions. I mean, literally question after question. He was offering NOTHING to the conversation. I cringed with each one, because after every reply from gamestop girl, he replied "oh, that's pretty cool" or "oh, that's pretty nice". After about 2 more minutes of this, frat-guy left, and gamestop girl left to the back room. In my head i thought "damn, i missed my chance", until i heard a cutesy voice next to me that said "can i help you with anything, sir?"

It was the same girl, to my astonishment. Thinking on my feet, I used the two games i was holding as an opener, asking her about her opinions on both of them. Lucky me, she was actually a gamer and not just a hired gun. We kept chatting about our own game interests for a few minutes before i told her i had to meet up with some friends in a little bit. She gave me her name and told me i should add her on facebook before i said my goodbyes and strode off with a farewell smile.

Unfortunately, checking her facebook, i found out she already had a boyfriend, but i thought of it as good day game practice, and i learned a new opener to use!
