Holy F. File a restraining order on this woman immediately. You have all the grounds to do so. Live in your house in peace.

50/50 or bust. Never let this woman have power over you or manipulate you again.

You should have left years ago, but it's okay, you should leave now. Life is short, go find someone that compliments you and helps you be the best version of yourself. Fortunately, your kids are older and will likely understand. In my opinion, this process is hardest when the kids are youngest and don't know what's going on. We get one life, don't live it with regrets. You still got time left to make it epic.

Whatever would hurt me the most.

Not "displacing" the children. That's what her lawyer and her argument is to keep the house. She doesn't keep the house, but she rents so she is not "displaced." The more and more I think about it, I just want her out. I might just sell the house and be done. It's a difficult decision.

Thanks for your perspective

Thank you. She has already alienated me from the kids. Since it's my property, I will have someone cut the grass and shovel the snow. How can she nickel and dime me? Pay rent or get evicted. Simple as that. Appreciate your perspective.

I'm leaning towards yes. I pay her alimony, she gives it back to me. I think the courts will look more favorably on this than forcing her to move out with the two kids. It would have to be an iron clad lease. Ie when a repair needs to be done, she leaves the house. If there's non payment of rent, I will treat her like any other tenant. Eviction notice on the 6th of the month. No free rides here. As for the carousel of men, I don't give a shit. I've moved on and have zero feelings or care about t…

Just don't get her pregnant and don't get married again. You're golden!

Start moving your money around and spending it. Last thing you want to do is give half of your hard earned money away. What a scam marriage is. What an incredible business divorce is. How sad our country's laws are on this. Good luck man, you're going to need it.

Wow man, thanks for sharing. That took some serious guts and patience, but I'm really happy that worked out for you. I'm 100% sure it wouldn't work out that way for me, so I know the path I'm taking (i.e. fighting for my life to get my kids) is the right one. I'm playing the long game, but I know one day I'll get to that place of peace that you achieved. Cheers!

Do not modify the agreement EVER. You hit the lottery that she didnt want any of your assets other than 45k. My stbxw has ruined the family finances completely. Over 200k in lawyer fees alone. Your ex wife is not your friend, she's your adversary. If you are stupid and reopen the divorce you deserve to get fucked over. Please be smart and tell her to GTFO of your house and start her new life.

If you get married after finding this sub, you're an idiot and you deserve a nasty divorce. This sub shows men the light and what happens 60% of the time. No way in hell is the risk worth the "reward." Marriage is bullshit.

Do not work!!!! Don't even get a part time. File first and explore your options. She will likely have to pay you alimony. Do not get a job, no matter what you do or you could be forfeiting that. Fuck that whore ex wife of yours, she's scum. You are now in war. What she did to you once was pretty bad but a second time is unforgivable. Sack up and leave this bitch yesterday. Good luck.

I'm going through this now with my 7 year old. Ex wife has brainwashed her completely. I have seen my kid for 11 hours this entire year. I don't understand how the government allows this to happen. An ex who alienates a child from their parent should be thrown in jail. Stay strong and never give up. Write your daughter letters, send her pictures, meet her after school with a coffee, do everything in your power to show her you care. Also, karma is a real thing. It is likely that your ex has somet…

I'm sorry to be blunt, but it sounds like you don't value yourself or respect yourself. People can only do to you what you allow and tolerate. Her behavior is absolutely unacceptable and she must be punished. You deserve better.

Listen to these men. You need to focus on yourself and become your best version before you get back out there. Join a men's group, join divorcecare, hit the gym, get with your emotions (it's okay to cry, it's actually encouraged. Feel the sadness, the anger, the pain). You will get to a point that you are clear minded and stronger than you've ever been. THAT is when you start dating again. Took me 10 months to get there, sometimes it takes guys a year or two, what's the rush? Do YOU.

Wow! This is why I love reddit. I see a shit ton of red flags too. I would take time to heal and focus on yourself. This woman has a timeline? Sounds like she wants a baby daddy and a provider for her future. Does she know you're financially stable? If she doesn't know, maybe it's real. Otherwise be very careful.

Good luck man. Same thing here. Bunch of assets, BUT bunch of debt too. My wife and her lawyer don't understand the debt part. I'll likely go to trial and let a judge rule on my future. You can't fix stupid.

She threw me our of the house with a false TRO, then accused me of abusing the kids, filed fake reports with CPS, it goes on and on. I wanted to mediate since day one, but looks like it will end in trial.

Sorry man, but thanks for the advice. I'm committed to getting my way or going in front of the judge. I've already been bent over and violated. Will never let that happen again. I'd prefer bankruptcy than let her continue to get away with murder like she has been.

Do not allow it. That's your house and YOU want to live there. That was YOUR Down-payment. Sounds like she's delusional.

The mediator is a THIRD lawyer and their fee is $500 an hour. What a fucking joke.

Good luck man. My legal is just about to cross $200k. It's such a joke. I'm going to be a spokesperson on divorce and the dangers of marriage to make my money back once this is all over.

You think I should go straight to trial? I'm dealing with a nutcase and I know it will be at least $10,000 before she sees reason, likely $20,000 each, no joke. Just makes me happy that she has to pay half, so there's some incentive for her to wake up and come to an agreement. Oh yeah, and our lawyers are each $400 an hour, so we are talking $1300 per hour. Woohooo!!!

Start selling assets before you tell her. Liquidate as much as possible and hide money. Also, get her to get a job, even if it's part time. It's critical that you show she had earning potential. Good luck!

I'm sorry you're going through this. I know it's tough to hear and you may not think it right now, but no matter what you're going through, your life is WORTH more than anything and you need to focus on yourself and your bright future. We all get in a rut at some point, but life is beautiful. Take time off work, even if it's a few days and write down all the good things in your life. Focus on the positives. Don't beat yourself up on things you can't control. You only get one life, make it epic a…

Hey man, sorry you're going through this. First off, you're not "stuck," that's BS. You're only stuck if you allow yourself to be. I would absolutely get away from this woman FAST no matter the consequences. Sell the bar, have her buy you out, or buy her out, talk to your lender and see what alternatives you have. File immediately and don't wait. Your state already screws you with the living apart for 1 year thing, so why delay even one more day? Living around someone so toxic is going to contin…
