Some ppl are just more shy than others and take steps at a slower pace or approach social situations from a different perspective. It doesn't mean you need to run to a psychologist for help. I had the same problem in my freshman year of college. I had acne, even though it wasn't a grotesque amount, it crippled my confidence.
