I would have begun talking about how delicious they looked.

Buried the lead a bit… YOU SAW FIVE RABBITS? That’s cool. Any cool birds? What other animals?

I’m a SAHD, 13-14 weeks in since I filed. I don’t know how I’m supposed to be doing it. I’m 45m, with a 4 and a 2, no shared bank accounts or access to the marital funds. My mom has loaned me the money for legal fees, I’m looking at moving back into her house possibly or she’s offered to help with a short term rental space. For 4 years, my wife has worked the same job that she had for years before we had our first. She brought in over $100k. I tried to be a SAHD and also do freelance, run my pho…

How long ago was the divorce and when did he share his regrets? Seems like he may have taken a good step to see his role in what probably led to the divorce, and he regrets his actions and treatment of you. But, that may not mean he wants to try again or to get back together. It could just be him accepting that he could have and should have done things differently. What do you mean when you’re asking how men process divorce? I’m not clear on what you’re looking for in that. Can you expound on th…

Thanks. Yeah, I’m just trying to stay moving and not stagnantly sink into depression.

I see where you’re coming from. I think what I’m asking about is more about trying to grow my in-person community by putting it out on Facebook. I have close to 1k connections, some are close friends who already know, but many are potential friends who may have gone through something similar and/or are able to fill a new role as a positive and supporting friend. I’m struggling with the issue of finding active community and individuals who are good fits for me as a 45m going through a divorce. I’…

Yeah, I’ve set an audience that doesn’t show my posts to her close friends and family. Normally I would follow the DGAF mindset, but some of her family are those who want to jump into comments and just troll because they DGAF.

Do it now. If you’ve mentally made the decision, there’s no point in not doing it now. You’re not going back, so why stay where you are? I literally just took my ring off yesterday after a talk with my uncle about how I didn’t know when was the right time, and admitting that it felt like such an emotional hurdle. I filed just over 10 weeks ago. My wife hasn’t worn her ring for at least a year and a half, probably two. My uncle helped me combine the two sides of my thinking, that I decided to fil…

45 here, starting over, definitely feels like the woman I’m divorcing is not the one I married 14 years ago. Hormones and pregnancy stuff really switched things up for us. Different version than yours, but same outcome.

Yeah… grieve, but take care of yourself. For your family, and yourself. You deserve it.

I’ve jumped full into mental health therapy and improvement. I’m back in CrossFit once a week for the free class right now until I can do more. I didn’t have a problem with drinking, but I’ve completely avoided it lately since even a single beer hits me with an emotional dip the next day. I feel better without alcohol of any kind right now. I’ve been helping teach both kids some skills I’ve learned in therapy like breathing techniques, coping skills, and how to recognize and name their emotions.…
