Well for one thing (and I haven't finished it, so maybe they changed it up) they seemed to focus solely on fixing weight. They acknowledged that buying cheap clothes can also effect appearance, but gave no advice on that. They gave no skincare advice, no therapy advice, etc. For me, I would have polled the femcel community and asked if they had interest in getting advice and if so on what. I'd give out advice based on what they wanted. ETA: I love that you're open to having a conversation and no…

But they did flat out say lose weight, several times. This was a bad episode. Were femcels reaching out for advice? I'm confused why they even thought this episode was necessary. One of them even said this episode was probably tone deaf... bc she doesn't know what it's like to not be pretty. That in itself is a lie. Even Beyonce has admitted that she doesn't feel beautiful everyday. And the one that said IS ugly. Her personality is ugly. Botox only lasts so long. Maybe stop defending them. Is th…

Do you honestly think telling a 17 year old to move to another state is realistic and sane advice? And Gen Zs are the ones challenging society. That age group (17-24) are historically the people that challenge the norm.

Yes, be prepared to walk away if he refuses. It's tough bc you're at the point of desiring intimacy, but true intimacy comes with safety. Actually, be prepared to walk away at anytime. This is another stage in the vetting process.

This behavior had consequences for millennial women too. There was a huge jump in the past 5 years of women choosing to be Single Moms By Choice (SMBC). That's the elder millennial demographic.

I remember as a kid, like middle school aged, I never even saw boys as crushes until I started seeing it from my classmates. It was all chill and innocent until it wasn't. I dunno, this might be too deep, but it takes me back to cringey adults asking preschoolers if they have a girlfriend/boyfriend. Are we taught that this is what we're supposed to do, so we do it? I guess it's that and puberty.

This is a good point. The interesting thing with him is that he's always pretended to proudly like fat women, but I've never seen him date one publicly. I was so young and dumb.

Yes, like I enjoy a compliment, but it doesn't need to be followed up with how I should feel about the asett being complimented on. Who said I didn't love my body (brains, money, education, wardrobe, etc.)? Wasn't me. And certainly not from this guy. This man went from looking like Big Tigger's twin to, well,...sometimes black does crack.

The best advice I ever read was that... it's not that you only attract LVM, it's that LVM approach every woman. The question is, are you going to be a woman that settles for this type of man when he approaches you.

I'm a transplant and I love it. I totally agree. When I go back to the Midwest my family and high school friends think I'm a liberal nut job. Once they even asked me if I felt safe posting protest pics that my employer could see. I'm good with greetings. I struggle when it comes up in the middle of a conversation. In the example I gave I might be giving a presentation and give credit to the team I'm presenting to and then go on with the presentation. I don't think quickly enough on my feet to not say you guys. What would you say instead of "what do you guys think?" I'm also not from the south and y'all feels very unprofessional.

Ikr! His answer did not disappoint, lol. I also believe that in the beginning of getting to know someone in a dating context, spontaneity should be the exception and not the rule. It's one thing if after dinner he says let's get ice cream. That's perfectly fine, but he needs to show that he can problem solve and be creative... and capable of planning a date.

I'm better. Every now and then I get these thoughts that my therapist called passive suicidal ideation. I never want to take my own life or make a plan, but I would be okay with not waking up in the morning, if that makes sense. Thanks for asking! I appreciate that.

Girl yes. I was dealing with this man that was laid off from his job during the height of covid. I tried to be empathetic towards his broke @ss and then one night I was in a really dark place, like having suicidal thoughts and he barely responded. Ok, so I have to ask.... what about pubic hair on a man? I used to date a guy that only trimmed his pubic hair once a year and, while we never had sex, the idea of performing oral turned me off thinking of hair that could possibly get in my mouth (I've had that happen) or worry about a musty smell from it (which is really a different issue). I guess I have some unlearning to do too. Thoughts?

No, but there's a podcast called "the dark side of" and each season they do a new topic like the dark side of holidays, fashion, air travel, etc. They did a season on dating and it was mentioned there. However, they always list their resources at the end of each episode.

My ex and I broke up over this. He said if he got tested he'd end up resenting me once the tests came back fine, knowing I made him get it. This man openly admits to having sex without a condom and says he only sleeps with clean women. That relationship became DOA. I just assumed he had a highly diseased penis at that point. He was truly ignorant and I was gobsmacked.

I come from a small, friendly town and he's actually from a bigger city. It's because his comments are condescending. He very much so has the mindset that women are incapable. I used to travel across the nation for a living. My last car had 225k miles on it, all put on by me. I know how to drive. I can navigate in any weather. I can safely drive on the curviest of roads. I can back out of a parking space. If he were being considerate, he would simply say "hey, I discovered this great vacation sp…

Truer words have never been spoken. I used to date a guy that had just retired (i.e. he wasn't good enough and his contract was not renewed) from the NBA and I realized quickly that he was so used to being catered to and having all of his problems handled for him that he could not function as an actual adult in the real world. Everywhere we went he would always have to comment and ask if I saw that girl checking him out (he missed the groupie attention). He once spilled his coffee on his jacket …

This is interesting. From the research I've done, single women didn't make a wage large enough to support themselves. It's why there were houses and dormitories for unwed women. This started after WW2 though. Largely before then dating wasn't really a thing or important. Once women were getting jobs and being paid less and forced to live in housing with other single women, men started asking women out for a meal (bc they were paid so little they could not afford 3 meals a day!). Men started the …

I'm sorry you've had to experience this from the one man in your life that is supposed to unconditionally love, support and protect you. My dad was a lvm, but great at hiding it to the outside world. He died on my 22nd birthday. I never got to get out how much he negatively affected my adult life, but I imagine he's in some purgatory hell and he knows. This is a good point. I was writing from the context of exes being from single family homes, albeit part of the problem. I also recognize that many of the women I'm my mom's generation were raised to be pick me's. That's a good point, but is it morally correct? The truth is, I'm okay that they didn't come after her. I wish we did less of that on the sub. I don't think blunt rudeness encourages women to stop responding to the LVM. I think it encourages them to not share the whole truth on the sub. Whatever happens should just be consistent across the board and with the rules, even if they would have said something simple like "this is great and remember never reach back out after a breakup, queen!".

Yeah, that kind of happens in the level up group. So I'm getting two for a couple of reasons. One is that the school offered a dual degree program and two because it will help me advance my career. One is an MSN, nursing leadership track. This is great, but can be used for any kind of leader, including clinical managers. I want to go the administrative route, so I'm finishing up with an MBA to set myself apart and to be seen as a serious contender for senior level leadership positions.

Sure. I'm all for sharing if it will help empower others. Maybe I'll start a thread and update it as I go through my journey. So far all I've done is have a tough conversation with myself about grieving the path I thought I'd have and start forging forward to pivot to a new one. I mean really the only thing different is the husband. I've done everything else. Then I made an appt to talk to my OB. She's amazing. I actually pay out of network to see her. That appt wasn't available for 6 weeks. I s…

I was a little put off by the Roastus Scrotus Deletus because if that would have been posted on this sub the woman would have been put on blast for speaking to him again after the break up and replying to his text asking for a hookup.

Yes, this was disappointing. Experts usually site other studies and she did not have a lot of data to reference. I've also never heard an expert use "yadda, yadda, ya" when explaining things. It was also a red flag that she noted none of her colleagues followed her lead.

I had this male friend that was tolerable and then one day I got a promotion and instead of telling me congratulations he said that he wished he had big boobs to help him get ahead in life. He was raised by his mom and grandmother. I think he was always praised and told he was a king. I have like 10 other examples of him not shutting up. 🤣 P.s. I interviewed with 2 customer females and a gay guy.

That's a good point. They ask that for any case. If someone has ever been robbed, they are dismissed from a robbery case. I guess in this case they probably asked the potential jurors if they had ever experienced domestic violence. Side note- I can't understand how so much evidence is considered circumstantial. In this case they had a witness testify that he sold the gun, used in the murder, to the boyfriend and they found bullet casings in his trash, but since they couldn't find the gun it was …

Yes! I went on a date over the weekend and decided to not have a second date. Today, during a zoom my coworkers asked how my date went. I told them and the other single female, who's now dating a guy for about 4 months and has moved in with him, said "we just want you to be happy". I clarified that I was already happy and would remain so with or without a man. I got half pity smiles and half fake "that's right, you go girl" type responses. 🤦‍♀️

That's exactly right, and no disrespect to her, but he seems like the type of guy that thinks he's too good for her. Like he's always trying to get the prettier, smarter, ____er woman.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/03/21 12:20 AM

That's it really. She got pregnant and then he proposed. That's not really how a HVM operates, ya know? I mean pregnancy happens outside of marriageall the time, but if he were HV, he would have taken precautions to ensure she got pregnant after the wedding. When a man proposes after the pregnancy the woman never truly knows if it's sincere or not. I dunno. Am I wrong? It feels archaic typing it out, but it also feels disrespectful.

Yes! He seemed off to me years ago, like way too arrogant. I ended up coming across a blog that talked about how his then girlfriend kicked him out of the house and threw all his things on the lawn. He and his wife have been arguing since before they got married. Why doesn't anyone ever mention that he got married after his girlfriend got pregnant? Why does he still have followers this morning? People have been canceled over less. I actually saw women on Facebook defending him!

No need to get defensive. We're all here to learn and grow. You put easier in quotes and then defined easier. You also said your beauty provides you no real privilege.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy23/03/21 04:39 AM
34

I would definitely never say your life is easy or simple, but pretty privilege is a thing and you probably benefit from it by getting jobs and promotions easier, getting better service at stores and restaurants, not being ignored when you want/need attention (think ordering a drink, in a meeting, etc). Just like with any privilege, it's important to acknowledge that you benefit from it and recognize that other's do not.

Exactly. Sometimes after I say "sounds great, plan something", they will literally start asking me questions that is basically me planning the date. Nope. Honestly, I cringe that I even say "plan it" after they say they'd like to take me on a date, but it's the only thing I can think to say. Why can't they be more direct and say "I'd like to take you to dinner. Are you free Thursday at 7pm?" When they call their homeboy they can ask them if they're free to watch the game at x bar Sunday at 4.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/01/21 08:55 PM

Yeah. I've always disliked this statement because it subconsciously makes people feel bad for being lonely when they're alone and already feeling down. Like make is acceptable to admit when you're lonely and prefer to not be alone. It's a valid feeling and they usually go hand in hand.

I was dating a guy and we got to the point in our relationship where I felt comfortable sharing with him that I had been raped. His response was "how could you let that happen?". I asked him to explain what he meant and he said "I've talked to girls about this, you can just push them off. I mean, were you enjoying it?". I was so pissed AND I still had to drive him home (🤡). I have no idea how it got a 4 star review. It sounds like it was written by a man or a pickme-eisha. The last chapter was the worst. His wife is literally having a dangerous baby delivery and the husband describes having sex with her and in the most explicit way.

To clarify, I never stated that anyone deserved to get murdered. I explicitly said I was against that. I was strictly referring to a dating choice.

Absolutely. I'm here (in life) to learn and grow, not to dig in my heals until my death, just for the sake of digging my heals in. It reminded me of a time when I was dating this guy that I thought was so cool. I was 17 and he had a driver's license and a nice car and could go anywhere he or I wanted. We always had to make "stops" on the way to wherever we were going. I always stayed in the car and one day I had a gun pointed to my head. I left him alone after that, but I sometimes wonder where …

I thought lil bow wow was already canceled when he pretended to be flying on a private jet. Too bad all the rappers and music moguls that bright him up didn't teach him HVM qualities or even set him up for financial success.

Yeah, I honestly felt sadness for her. She needs a hug and a wake up call. I was appalled when he referred to spending time with his own kid as babysitting.

I'll have to search and see if they're is an app that only allows chat with matching and allows the guy to message first. Edit to add: Thanks! I am the prize! Luckily my delete and block game has gotten stronger.

I completely agree! I actually wish bumble would change this.

Yes, unfortunately this is one of the few where you both have to match to message. I tried POF and I was literally getting around 100 messages a day and I'm fat. I had to delete it.

Hah, are you saying this could be made into a movie bc it happens so often? I've been noticing (thanks FDS!) that LVM love to answer questions about themselves, but rarely, if ever, ask a question about us.

I was recently talking to a friend and I mentioned the term low value men and she asked where I had heard that from. I tried to blow it off bc I didn't want to get into it, but she persisted saying another one of her friends used the same term (hey friend!), so I was like oh cool and went into explaining FDS and HVM vs LVM and her response was "low value men need love too". I said not from us and she changed the subject.

Thank you. She's really is great. She does a good job on calling me out on my bs without making me feel guilty, but makes me want to do better.

These are specific to me, so please everyone don't come at me with the hate about how I shouldn't be doing this. I know, it's why I'm in therapy. A lot of it has to do with showing off my body before a guy gets the chance to know me for my inside beauty. When I do this I only allow relationships to stay at the surface. Examples: wearing tight leggings to the gym (not saying this is objectifying for everyone, but it is for me bc I know what kind of attention it attracts). When I'm getting to know…

I used to hear "I'm sorry you feel that way", never changed no matter how many times I told him he can't apologize for my feelings, only his actions... he had to go.

It's tough bc guys have been taught not to approach women at the gym or grocery store. I would love to be approached in those places.

I think we should all be honest with one another. I referring specifically to women posting about a breakthrough they've had and they're proud of themselves and there will be comments in there telling them all of the things they did wrong along the way. Personally, I think this is the time to give kind, truthful feedback instead of the kind that comes off as bullying. We're all in different levels of the FDS spectrum and as people are growing we don't want to make them feel rejected. It's like w…

This comment gained some traction on another post, so thought I'd repost it for all to see. Maybe instead of saying: Why did you... Try: Have you considered... Current: Why are you even.... Try: What made you....

I'd love to see thr data that women in their 20s are out earning men of the same age. Women started getting higher levels of education to compete with men who had lesser degrees. I.e. a man with a bachelors= a female with a masters. I think that's why you see more of us in higher levels of education.... bc men can get away with it, at least currently.

I definitely feel you. I recently lost a little bit of weight and I am exhausted from all the comments of men objectifying me and calling it a compliment when I call them out on it. I can't imagine how tiring this is for people that have been experiencing this their whole lives.

In his defense, he didn't say that and it wasn't in his profile (or else I would have immediately swiped left), but he was giving off "good vibes only" energy, so I brought it up first.

Yes, I think so. At one point he asked me which organizations I volunteer for, so I told him and then he asks if I've made a difference. I replied that I hope so and he said see that's the problem, you hope and you don't know. So then I felt like I had to defend my choice of the word hope, explaining that with volunteering you don't always get to see ROI, especially not immediately. It was just a bad conversation overall. He even mansplained to me how nursing works after I told him I have been a…
