Self-improvement. Develop a healthy mind and body, build strong friendships, and become someone that you are proud of. The rest is either social conditioning or cheap gimmicks.

In addition, if you believe that you are cool, fun, and attractive, you will be able to express those qualities more effectively.

I believe it comes down to a matter of audience. Most men are only supportive in a performative sense. Let's turn the question around, when is the last time you gave another guy advice or a boost in confidence?

Some of my best nights have been going out by myself! It'll be a bit nerve wracking at first, but just push yourself to talk with people and don't stand in the corner all night.

Confidence is something you have to work for, and it's hard work. It'll cost you blood, sweat, and tears. But because that confidence is so hard-won, it'll be just as difficult to have it taken away. My analogy had always been that confidence is the foundation that you are building the rest of yourself on. I suppose the most tangible examples of building confidence are going to the gym or increasing a particular skill. If dressing well helps your confidence, then go for it. Good luck!

Great post and great analogy! Cheese pizza is always going to be the one that just sits there and gets cold by the end of the party. I'm sure far too many us can relate. Use the cheese as your foundation and build up from there.

Oh I see, obviously this is an ironic commentary on the dangers of pseudoscience and the importance of only trusting data-based research. In addition, observing the effects of reducing women (or anyone else) to their base biology. Namely, how it can dehumanize them. Thank you poster. You've reminded me to always treat others in the same way that I wish to be treated. As a person.

Answer: Some guy, somewhere out there, will have a problem with you having no experience. And there's even a chance you will be rejected by this hypothetical person. So what are you going to do? Let your fear of rejection take control of your life? What about the people that are too short, too tall, too fat, too skinny, too much hair, not enough hair? Should they give up too? Having your insecurities validated feels good because it means you were right to think that way for all those years. It f…

No problem. Most people just want to validate their insecurities. To be honest I ripped this idea of responsibility from Mark Manson's "Everything is F*cked". You might like it.

Good post, maybe consider replace the word "fault" with "responsibility". Responsibility gives you agency where as fault is the consequence of something that has already happened.

Insecurity is a much bigger turn-off than sexual experience (or lack thereof). Why do comments like that get under your skin?

The point is not to wait the perfect amount of time, but to be busy enough with your own life that a few days naturally pass by before you go out again. A few texts here and there, or even better face time or something, will give you an idea of how she feels about seeing you again. It all comes with experience, you got this.

No, everyone is wired this way. In a more primitive world, pain = death. These painful memories are a survival technique. The way to overcome these feelings is not to suppress or overpower them, but to empathize with them. Okay sure, being rejected sucks, but isn't it awesome when someone is into me?

An analogy that has always stuck with me, and I'm simplifying here: "Indirectly approaching a girl is like a car salesman talking about the weather."
/r/seduction06/10/20 01:34 AM

Cold approaching is simply the confidence to approach a total stranger and attempt to build a rapport with them. A useful skill to have that will serve you well in any social environment. However, I would recommend investing the majority of your free time into expanding your social circle. You'll gain friends, social proof, opportunities to meet even more people, ect.

I would suggest on googling "how to build attraction" and apply the techniques that you think seem effective. I wish there was a clear and direct answer, but "building attraction" is the foundation of having game along with building comfort, or rapport as you called it. They work hand-in-hand to build up a person's interest in you.

I'm sure I'm not the first one to say this, but I found 'Models' by Mark Manson to be a better source of information. For a while it was the standard to go by, plus it's a lot funnier. The author comes across as just a pretty cool guy. His other book 'The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck' is just really great. Anyway, throughout 'The Art of Seduction' I got the sense that the author held a lot of resentment towards women and came up with all of these different ways to "get even".

Campus life is all about who you know. Your primary goal should be to expand your social circle as wide as possible. You'll make a lot of friends and connections in the process, as well as meet a lot of women. My view comes from the personal experience of being pretty insular in college and looking back with regret, so obviously I have some bias. Todd V, if I remember correctly, had a similar take. Put your question to google and see what others have to say.

Coffee houses will often have "talent show" events. Well, they used to before covid. Anyway, it's a pretty cool scene and will let you meet a lot of other people with similar interests.

The attraction was there, and then it faded. Stick to local girls anyway. Next time you're in her city you could hit her up and see if she wants to hang out, but start looking for other girls. Seems like you're doing fine, you just need more experience. We learn through our failures, not our successes.
/r/seduction23/09/20 09:01 PM

Dude relax. You're dwelling too much on past events. Treat every new situation like what it is, a brand new experience rich with possibilities. You got this.

My advice: Improve your inner game. You're doing all of these things to seem more attractive on the outside and looking for advice and validation from other people. What do you think of yourself? Got an average face? Well you're the one who has to look at it every day. Better start liking it. Looks only matter to a certain extent anyway. Personality matters far more, even to people that claim otherwise. And the only personality trait I've picked up from your entire post is "helpless guy". Please…

I'm always surprised by how much of communication is non-verbal. You need to check to see if they're okay with you entering their personal space, or "bubble". If they back away or look uncomfortable, then that's a pretty clear rejection. Usually I don't pursue any further and say a quick goodbye, though it may vary in some cases. Read their body language and react accordingly. If you're hesitant to touch them, they might think you're uninterested or too stiff. I like to start with a light touch …

Learn how to flirt in person. Texting won't get you anywhere. I know it's tempting because there's little risk, but there's also very little reward. The best way to learn is through trial and error.

True, it could have just been a bad fit. The fact that you're comparing these dates against another person is a much bigger problem though and it needs to be addressed. It could be nostalgia or some other cognitive bias. Take some time to really examine why you have put this particular person on a pedestal. Read up on "oneitis" as well, that should at least point you in the right direction for more advise. Also, think how rude it is to your date. How would you like it if they were constantly mea…

Okay so your first question is approach anxiety and how to overcome it. From what I've come to understand through experience and listening to other's experiences, is that you'll never completely be able to overcome it. Emotions cannot be reasoned with or bargained with. No amount of thinking or strategy planning will defeat your fears. However, you can learn to accept this anxiety and live with it. Maybe even come to enjoy it. How do you think adrenaline junkies get their fix? They like the fear…

Getting numbers is basically a numbers game. Very few girls are willing to give up their time to a stranger who they met for like 5 minutes. Here's a tip that you'll learn after you get a bit more experience. Opening girls is not difficult. Getting their number is not difficult. Even getting them intested is not difficult. Getting someone to trust you enough to form an emotional connection is difficult. That's real game.

Acting in a responsible and mature manner is not soft. Don't ask her opinion on it, just say "I'm paying for the extra charges, does so-and-so have venmo?"

I wonder if she said the same thing about you? If you were the decent guy you want us to believe, you would tell her you cheated and break things off. You're just wasting her time. Want some advice? Date a girl you like and don't cheat.

If he didn't offer to reschedule it's possible that he's not into you. Put him on the back burner and talk to other guys.

Advice, not advise. Shave your head. It's a gradual process so you won't necessarily notice it, but I cringe when I look at pictures of myself with my messed-up hairline. Good times.

First off, stop asking boring questions. Ask her about the things that you actually want to know.
/r/seduction02/08/19 05:26 PM

Not much feedback to give except just keep approaching and work on the parts of the interaction that trip you up. More importantly, Mystery Method is older than I am haha. Most guys these days are following Mark Manson for direct game.
/r/seduction28/07/19 03:06 AM

No no, things seem great up until the misspelling. Seriously? Is there any doubt in your mind that this girl wants nothing to do with you? This makes ghosting look civilized. On to the next one.

Look up "indirect game" and leverage the hell out of it. A lot of the other advice on here will apply to you as well: Hit the gym, dress well, and pick up new hobbies. Basically become the best version of you possible. We attract what we are.
/r/seduction24/07/19 05:15 PM

So what I'm getting from this: You could walk up to the next beautiful woman you see, introduce yourself, and then walk away, and you would have had just as much of a "chance" with her as the one in your story. Hopefully that puts things in perspective for you.

Logistics meaning having things set up so you can bring a girl home. Your friend staying with you was bad timing.
/r/seduction22/07/19 07:56 PM
2

You played things well, your logistics were just shit. It's over though. If she really wanted to meet she would have reached out to you instead of "waiting for you to text her". She only told your friend that to save face. Take some confidence in the interaction and move on.
/r/seduction22/07/19 04:53 PM

Unreliability is a character trait and should inform you of his future behavior. Why would you want a relationship with someone is constantly letting you down? Move along.

Wait until you know she's back in town.
/r/seduction19/07/19 06:09 AM

Or keep your answers short and concise. Don't try to extend things into a conversation and don't respond to stupid shit like "what are you doing?" Other than that, I don't see a reason not to respond like you would to a message from anyone else you know.
/r/seduction19/07/19 05:44 AM

Texting doesn't build attraction, at best it just uses what attraction is already there. At worst you're just going to annoy her. The thing to do is approach other girls and work on yourself while she's away. You might have a shot, you might not, but you won't know until you interact in person, on a date.
/r/seduction19/07/19 05:24 AM

You answered your own question there my friend, let me paraphrase "She's cold except when she wants attention." We all deserve to be respected and to earn that respect we have to have boundaries. There are behaviors that will not be tolerated. Move on.

I would suggest a bar close to your place, just feels classier.
/r/seduction13/07/19 12:33 AM

The more you text, the more needy you come off as. It's over, move on. Next time text only for logistics and wait for her to initiate.
/r/seduction12/07/19 03:50 PM

I would suggest becoming friendly with everyone at the gym, this girl included. The social proof will help and you might even make new friends.
/r/seduction12/07/19 03:42 PM

This person doesn't seem emotionally or even mentally stable, so I'm sure that it really doesn't matter what you say. Good luck, I guess. Use protection.

Some guys are worried that confirming exposes insecurities over being stood up. As if no one else in the world has the same worries. I would instead frame it like this: You value your time and don't want it wasted. If more than three days have passed since I've confirmed plans, then I'll confirm (I just don't add a question mark at the end).
/r/seduction10/07/19 04:02 PM
1

All I can say is: Yup, there's some crazy shit going on in the human brain. The best thing to do is admit it and move on, relationships are built on the trust that neither of you will act on your worst impulses.
/r/seduction09/07/19 06:59 PM
1

Soft rejection, sad to say it. Next time don't say no to getting a group together, you would be the one organizing it so you'd be good for social proof. Better yet though is to plan the date in person and organize the logistics through text.
/r/seduction09/07/19 06:47 PM
2

Texting is for logistics. Confirm plans the day before and go out and meet more girls. You might meet someone amazing or it might just be practice, but it's always better than nagging this girl with texts. You can respond to her of course, just don't drag her into a full-on conversation about your relationship with your mother.
/r/seduction09/07/19 05:32 PM

Texting is for logistics, young lad.
/r/seduction09/07/19 05:27 PM

First off, freaking great job getting your shit together. From my experience, there's always going to be that fat kid looking at you in the mirror. We just have to give him the finger and live our lives. Now think about it from her perspective. Do you really think she doesn't have to put any work into her appearance to be an "8"? Give her some credit. She probably sees the same fat kid that we all do in the mirror. Anyway, you should have made plans and exchanged numbers to make it easier to go …

Awww you two sound adorable. Don't fuck it up by asking her stupid shit like that. Get control of your insecurities or they'll ruin things for you. Oh well, it's how we all learn.

Yup.
/r/seduction09/07/19 05:07 PM

It already sounds like you've made up your mind on what you're going to do: stick around and hope that she sees how great you are. It's needy and won't work, but the best of luck to you. The correct thing to do is set firm boundaries and move on. You didn't sign up to be part of this weird love triangle. Is your time and feelings worth so little that you have to waste them on someone who would put you through this? Find someone who respects you.
/r/seduction09/07/19 05:05 PM

Why is "you" and "your" the only words you spell as if you were typing on a flip-phone? Anyway, she sounds horrible. Move on.

Personally I would never get together with a co-worker. Rumors will spread and you'll get a reputation, potentially damaging your career. Even if it's a job just to pay the bills, it's still a bad habit to fall into. Meet girls in your free time. To answer your question though, re-opening is fine. Sometimes one of you has to go to the restroom, or some douche interrupts you, or a million other things. As long as she didn't reject you, try again. Just do it in a calibrated way, like you always sh…

You kids an your confangled DMs and emiticons and whatever else. I'm in the "logistics-only when texting" camp. Build attraction in person, where you can do something with it. Anything over the phone is a distraction to these girls, it's like watching a movie or reading a book. It isn't real to them. Unless it is and you're just out there killing it out there. I've been wrong once or twice before.
/r/seduction09/07/19 04:39 PM
1

Never leave the ball in the other person's court. I would say that was the only thing you did wrong. Instead of telling her when you were free, you should have suggested a date and time. You texted only for logistics only, which is good. The snapchat was fine too. Go ahead and text her again along the lines of "I'm doing this thing X at such-and-such a time and place, would you like to come along?" If she declines, then forget her and go do that thing. Good hunting.
/r/seduction09/07/19 04:23 PM
2

Sounds like you caught a bad case of oneitis. Unfortunately, my advice is to move on. Go back to square one and work on your inner game. Hit the gym like it owes you money, start dressing better, and pick up some new hobbies. Now, I pretty much have no clue how women should work on their outer game, but I'm guessing your focus should be on indirect game.
/r/seduction09/07/19 04:09 AM

So did she simply ignore you? If she did, it's not because of a misspelled word (and if it is you dodged a bullet on that one). 2 out of 3 girls will flake on you, it just happens. She filled out the application, but never scheduled the interview. Don't let it slow you down. Plenty more candidates out there.
/r/seduction06/07/19 05:56 PM
20

No it isn't, that's an escape strategy. She doesn't know how you'll react to rejection and additionally let's you save face. Remember, a shit test is a good thing, it means she is evaluating you. Usually it's just light teasing. Very few people will just start insulting strangers.
/r/seduction06/07/19 05:14 PM
3

Start small, talk to at least one other girl. Identifying the problem is a good start.
/r/seduction06/07/19 06:21 AM
7

Pretty strange, but it's clear she's not interested. Move on and don't double text next time.
/r/seduction04/07/19 02:44 AM
1

Lol you were thinking that you were overthinking? Doesn't that hurt your brain?
/r/seduction03/07/19 10:59 PM
1

Personally I don't like to ignore texts because I just end up thinking about how I'm ignoring a text. Answer when you have the time. And yeah, setting up the time and place is completely on you. Find a natural way to do that as soon as possible.
/r/seduction03/07/19 07:16 AM
1

Do not text her. Respond to her texts sure, but you're way more likely to decrease attraction than increase it. I've even seen advice to not bother confirming before the date, just show up and expect her to do the same. Not sure if you need to go that far though, your time is valuable and you don't want it wasted.
/r/seduction03/07/19 06:47 AM
1

Normally it's obvious when things are going nowhere, but I kind of like your chances. You've done well not to over-text, probably the biggest rookie mistake. Set up the next date and leave it at that. When she cancelled on you, she asked to re-scheduled, which is huge. Both times she has basically asked you out. So good ahead, assume she's being honest, and go out on the next date. Good hunting.
/r/seduction29/06/19 05:21 AM
3

She must really hate those movies. Sounds like she lost interest, as much as it sucks to hear it. Worse is that there probably isn't even a great reason. She gave it three dates to develop feelings, nothing grew, and now she figures she'll save you both the trouble of continuing any further. Nothing to be done about it. Get back out there and good hunting.
/r/seduction29/06/19 02:33 AM

I let my guard down just recently when a girl just happened to fall into my lap. I found myself way too attached and probably fucked it up.

Cancel the date to show dominance, go out on your own, and then pick up another girl. At least then you won't be worried about impressing a girl out of your league. Or just go and see what happens.
/r/seduction29/06/19 01:17 AM

In my case, I was afraid on some level that I was unlikeable to random strangers with whom I had no investment with. Hell, there are still times I feel that way. However, I have yet to see any evidence for this. Even when I say something stupid, people still give me the benefit of the doubt. Does this work for everyone? I have no idea, but you will never be able to rationally convince yourself to overcome approach anxiety. You just have to do it. Start small, celebrate even small victories, and …
/r/seduction28/06/19 09:09 PM
2

First off, good work. Focus on the small victories to boost your confidence and learn from your mistakes. However, you weren't really rejected though. This person has a bond of trust with another, in this case her boyfriend. What reason would she have to destroy this trust? Empathy is often overlooked in game, which is insanity. Game is a negotiation, like all social interaction, so understanding the other person is fundamental to your success.
/r/seduction21/06/19 09:35 PM
1

Go back to the basics and take a hard look at your game. Approach, isolate, and escalate. If these girls are as interested in you as you think, then they will help to make this process as easy as possible.
/r/seduction17/06/19 08:24 PM
2

Hang in there, nothing feels better than self-righteous anger, but it won't get you anything in life.
/r/seduction28/02/19 04:22 AM
1

Absolutely ask her, in person, to go to this dance with you. No need for declarations of intent. Be casual, but to the point. The worst that can happen is that she'll make a vague excuse in order to let you down softly. Don't make the rationalization that just being friends is enough for you. You have nothing to lose except the slight sting of rejection, and at the end of the day you can be proud that you at least tried. Best of luck!
/r/seduction28/02/19 03:44 AM

I don't actively pursue day game and I don't rely on my social circle. Both work, but I like bars and clubs anyway, so that's where I cold approach.
/r/seduction27/02/19 05:10 AM

Woah woah, don't lie. Listen to the advice above, that's the only opening line you'll ever need. Save anything smart or funny for once she shows interest.

Good job my man (or woman!) Remember what Yoda said though, to pull or not pull, there is no close. Although I guess f-close is pulling... Whatever, it sounds cool.

You've created little to no emotional connection. A pet theory of mine is that women are masters of abundance mentality. In many cases, there is a list of guys that they can call up and have sex with. Sure you've put your name on the list, you might even be on the top, but lists are boring. Instagram, Tinder, the contacts in your phone: All lists.
/r/seduction27/02/19 02:14 AM
1

Approach girls outside of your social circle. Since you have mutual friends you're both afraid to take risks, and risks are sexy. As for the rejection, yeah it sucks and it's never going to not suck. I guess we all just get through it the best we can. Get out there and crush it!
/r/seduction27/02/19 02:01 AM
7

Why not just invite him out to go do something? Some simple rules: Start at 7 pm or later, don't go to a movie, and don't talk about liking other guys (had a girl do this to me years ago and I missed every hint she threw at me.) I would leave the declaration of feelings for another time, but you do you. Get out there and crush it!
/r/seduction26/02/19 02:37 AM

I'm of the opinion that game is for everyone, and so is most of the advice out there tailored for "guys". Some of the things that helped me were The Three C's of Pickup (Confidence, Congruence, and Calibration), body language, screening, and physical escalation. The fun of learning a new skill is putting it to the test and enjoying the results.

Escalate physically, just a light touch on the elbow or shoulder. Use it to punctuate your laughter when either of you makes a joke. Or slightly push her away when she says something you can disagree with. For whatever reason, physical touch builds trust between two people, if used appropriately of course. Do some reading. Obviously there are smarter people than me that have written extensively about this very subject.

Mark Manson's "Models" is a classic, I wish I had read it much earlier in life. His new one is good too "The Subtle Art Of Not Giving A Fuck"

Talk to anyone who seems friendly and strikes you as interesting. A quick two minute back and forth is usually a good start. Obviously use your judgement and keep talking with them if you want to, there's plenty of potential friends out there. However, what I like to "practice" is warming the other person up to a longer interaction. My approach anxiety disappeared as soon as I established a kind of positive feedback loop somewhere in my brain. Every person that responded positively to me just ma…

Building attraction and developing a rapport is not needy. Other behavior, such as seeking a person's approval in place of permission, is needy. Letting someone treat the way this girl is treating you, and then wanting a date with her, is needy. Value yourself and move on.

The "books" are correct, and on some level I'm sure you know it. Though I wouldn't wait two days to text "get well soon", either send it or don't. The problem with waiting two days is that you are spending that time counting down until you are allowed to send a text. Move on man, she likes the attention, but doesn't want to put the time and effort into dating you.

Get more girls. For some, gaining an abundance mentality means having an actual abundance. If she texts you back, great. If you never hear from her again, well you can't win them all.

It would be kind of weird if she took this as a sign of confidence wouldn't it? Sure you could take the time to fix this and become comfortable with prolonged eye contact at a distance, or you could work on maintaining that same eye contact while talking to a girl. Body language is important, but really only the first step.

I've never had much success with coffee dates. The girl doesn't come in with much investment since it's "just coffee". Even when things go well, it's still the middle of the day and you both have things to do. The best possible outcome then is another date instead of pulling her back to your place. Excellent framing though. Convincing yourself that you're the best is almost as hard as convincing others haha.

I wouldn't immediately conclude that you "fucked up" by telling her you liked her. There's a lot of missing context. Showing that much intent is like showing your hand in poker, it puts it all out there on the table. Personally, I would physically escalate and even have sex before throwing around all of these feelings, but if she's likes you back then there's no problem. The depression is a whole different can of worms though. I've been there, and the worst part is that I didn't want any help ge…

I've always tried to take a step back and evaluate the motivation behind the shit-test. Would I say this to make someone leave me alone? It's difficult because these tests are inherently pushes. Look past that though. What degree of push? "You're short" vs "You're too short". One of those you can misinterpret or exaggerate, the other is just mean. Is there any pull? "You're too short... But it's kind of cute." She's still pulling more than pushing, and more than that she's giving you something t…

This was also the part of his story that gave me the most pause. Very likely it was a shit-test. She gave our OP three options: (1) Show intent (2) Stand your ground (3) Back down. I think we all agree on which option she was hoping he would take. Thinking that women aren't playing the game is a tragic mistake. Probably was best to stand his ground, it was a reasonable question after all, but that's a whole different topic.
