Was the influence of BP that strong that you couldn't recognize that women, just like all humans, can be coldhearted and calculating? I won't lie. I bought into the whole feminism / good guy thing. Just be yourself. Talk things through. Be kind and nice. Be soft and lovable. Ask permission. 30+ years like that. And the wreckage of relationships to prove it. I just had to find the "one" who would love me just as I was, I thought. Red Pill demolished all of that. It's like I was blind and now I se…

Good read. I like how you don't blame your culture or race. AWALT is a universal truth.

If I could arrange a marriage for my daughters or son, I would do it in a heartbeat. It's unfortunate that we lost this tradition in the West.

Pick an event you want to go to, like a concert or football game, but something she'd enjoy. Then tell her for her birthday, you two are going to this awesome event. Maintain frame and solve problem.

She's not his daughter. She's a bastard. What do you expect? This is a cautionary tale, like many others. Society wants you to play the bitch. Don't accept the role.

No worries. It's good to be challenged on ideas. That's how we get better. Beast Skills... well, the name just sounds awesome.

First of all, I never said lifting would fundamentally damage your body. I said lifting big weights is not always sustainable into older years. You can, of course, lift light weights and high reps. But for most people, to really masculinize your body--get good muscles--it's not enough to do low weights at high repetitions. You need very difficult exercises. High weights, low reps. Bench pressing 150 lbs, 50 times, will build endurance, make you look better, but won't get the same results. Body w…

I take a different approach. Stop talking about it with her. Ignore her requests when they don't make sense. But add value elsewhere, without being asked. More masculine activities, lightbulbs, hanging photos, etc. All the while improving SMV.

As an guy in my 40s, I hear what you are saying. The body ages. Realistically, at 54, you're going to have a much harder time doing big weight on deadlift and bench press. Because I totally destroyed my back and shoulder years ago, I incorporate a lot of body weight fitness into my workout. You can get well built that way. (Search reddit for body weigh fitness and check out the photos of peoples' results.) The key is to mimic the heavy weights of lifting with your body. It's low reps, high diffi…

I think you can have a stoic mindset and still be talkative and jokey. The important thing about stoicism is not letting external events dictate your feelings or thinking or self-value.

Mostly an extrovert. The thing is I'm super disciplined about never talking about RP. I just had to realize that the RP also includes self-improvement.

I must remember that I'm doing this for me and I could give a shit what people think. Yes, it's a subtle kind of approval-seeking we have to fight against.
/r/MarriedRedPill19/03/15 02:39 AM

Not into it. Self-discipline must be based on internal stoicism, not external rewards. Shift your mind and your actions follow. It may be fine to use this as a temporary crutch, but overall, it sabotages the entire point of RP.

I don't think it depends on the activity. It depends on your attitude. If you are a huge gun and hunting enthusiast and display mastery and confidence, it's alpha. Take another example. Painting. I think painting could be super Alpha if you have a huge drive and passion for it and intensity. I think women react more to your frame then to the particular activity. So if you like to do it, go do it.

Agree. There is a difference between owning your shit and hamstring about why you need to pay attention to details of kindness. My marriage only got better when I started not caring about those little details of kindness and just being myself. We are being hard on you not because we are jerks, but because its easy for any of us to fall into BP behavior. We are your reality check.

Yesterday, I had a tough day at work and with a family member who just can't seem to get his life together. When I got home, my wife and kids were there, but I couldn't really talk to them about this. I felt incredibly lonely. So I called up a buddy and we went for a drink. Talked over work stuff. Felt better. When I came home, the wife snuggled in my arms. This morning I woke up ready to take on the world.

I didn't even click through and read that thread's comments. I believe a man has to make sure that the majority of knowledge and advice he takes in will lead to positive, strong change. Not whiny, BS. That's the problem with the main TRP. I do look at the main TRP, but only look at things that will lead to real improvement.

Strangely, for me, the more comfortable I feel in my own skin, the less I use the terms. These days, I don't tend to think in terms of Alpha/Beta. I tend to think in terms of whose frame or story are we living in. Throughout my life, I try to make sure we are living in my frame, not hers.

For men I don't owe a debt of honor to-- I don't talk about it. And I cut them off if they insist on wallowing. I don't try to convince them. I may call them out on things, but always with plausible deniability. I never talk about red pill. For men I do owe a debt of honor to-- Same thing, but more honest. I'll usually take a little more time to explain things. For those who are true friends, they know that when I say something harsh and honest, it's because I give a shit about them.

I didn't like this article. Yes, we all know that men are suffering. But this article makes it seem that we as men are just caught adrift, without the power to reclaim our lives and our worlds. That's bullshit. If you're not owning your shit, that's your fault. Not society's. Not any woman's. Not the economy. And... [T]he time has come for men to readjust their sights. Edit: I think this expresses it more clearly. Much of TRP (incl married red pill) says to basically be indifferent to anything your wife does or does not do. But the opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference. So how can a person have ongoing desire for someone else that they have trained themselves to be indifferent to? Total misstatement. You can have desire for someone and still see yourself as valuable and not willing to put up with bullshit. True indifference is impossible. It's the a…

Not enough information. I'd have to understand more about the entire context and relationship. I will say I think that an emo guilt trip is just a shit test. And should be responded to as one. But to head this stuff, simple thank yous here and there might help.

Yes, even though this was mainstream, it did acknowledge the difference between men and women AND also that women dry up like prunes when confronted by a house husband. I also thought it was more credible because they were talking to divorce lawyers, who see this stuff all the time.

Although I'm not a Christian, I think there is a lot of value in the Bible. Proverbs 17 is amazing. 1 Better a dry crust with peace and quiet than a house full of feasting, with strife. 27 The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered. Proverbs 31 is good for women, though a bit BP with some statements. And my favorite quote from the Bible, which I tell my kids. 15 Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are…

She needs her sleep so she can be beautiful. It really does matter. And working out is important too. But this 830 schedule seems stupid. Why so early? When do you have sex?

In the past, it was well-accepted for men to have affairs on the side. Women would accept it as the cost of being with a virile man. So I've had lots of opportunities for extra-marital, and haven't done it. But I can't say I never will.

I'm not sure I believe there are five clean-cut stages. I think there are many stages upon stages. You pass through anger into acceptance, but that's only in one part of your life. The red pill is like an onion. You think you've figured out, but you peel off another layer.

The drive to have children is primal and evolutionary. This is the way we propagate ourselves and our names. You are dust, except for your children and your children's children and so on. This is also why I venerate ancestors and stand with my kin. I have a daughter. My wife and I are raising her to be feminine. The Yin to the Yang. To have values, class. To be virtuous. Gentle, industrious. To take pride in herself and her beauty. To empower, not tear down. "The Man is Honored for his Strength,…

Definitely ended the obsession with sex with my wife. Like you stopped fap and porn. Late 30s / early 40s. But it has ramped up my interested in strange pussy. I find myself more in tune with women in general, and interacting with them as if I plan to have sex with them. I do think about some extramarital stuff on the side more than before.

Why not make her earn it? Say if she is good for X of months, then you'll consider getting a puppy. But your wife has to behave, and show that she can manage the house, etc. I would have some serious fun with this.

I then though about our marriage some more and figured in all the years of marriage she's never really wanted to make me happy, which explains the lack of sex. This is going to be harsh, but she'll only want to make you happy when she thinks you have a higher or equal value to herself. Right now, she thinks you are low value. So she doesn't give a fuck about you. Think about why she is spending so much time at work. It's because she wants to make someone happy--her boss, her shareholders, her bo…

I never talk about RP with my wife. Never. First, it's an exercise in discipline for me. Second, we live in a BP-town. There is hate for the manosphere and RP. Third, my wife is very sharp and try to use it against me. AWALT. She's also an executive at a big company, with people reporting to her, etc. So she has this idea of herself as an empowered feminist, even though she loves when I lead our marriage (at home and in bed). This post got me thinking of my father. He passed away a few years ago. He was an unconventional RP guy. Really loud and boisterous. Always with a big, huge smile. Gregarious. Bold. Would talk to anyone, and even in his 80s would chat up the local waitresses. Not a very good looking guy, objectively, and grew up dirt poor, sleeping on a wooden board on a tenant's farm. But he was able to score my mom, who was really beautiful and from a great family. Since he's died, everyone always remember the…

It just freakin happens. All true. But I would say that it doesn't bother me. It doesn't even bother me that some people won't wake up. The sun rises, the sun sets. Women are what they are. They will expect what they will expect. We just need to know how to spin them to get what we want. =)

Start lifting!!! After a novice starts reading, they will quickly understand why. Clothing can be fixed in 1-2 days, a mindset can change in a week, but the body takes time. Completely agree on the need for body work. It also helps with mindset. Nothing says "Abundance Mentality" in your mind that seeing women other than your wife react to your improved body.

Yup. Gotta be careful with any signs of aggression or violence in this world. That said, you can be creative with this. Once, I was not happy with how my wife was coddling my son. I almost cracked at work this week. Two pieces of background. First, my career is not nearly as far along as it should be. That's entirely my fault. It's because of my anger issues and failure to be assertive. These are things that I've been turning around since starting RP. We also don't have anything overarching in our culture that serves as a rite of passage from boy to man so they have that title definitely bestowed upon them. This is huge, especially for those of us with sons. I never really had a demarcation in my life when someone said to me, ok now you're a man. With my son, I'm trying to do it in stages. Even if porn has some dread value, there is much more value in having dread through another living, breathing woman. If my wife and I are at a bar or restaurant together and I start talking to a woman, my wife will literally make a beeline from wherever she is to interject.

Thanks for the comment. I think the video is about more than just addiction. How many guys who FAP look at just one fantasy girl. No, they have tons of windows open. Bouncing around from fantasy to fantasy. I'm saying that if you love a really good Scotch, why settle for a shitty imitation mixed drink. Now, as to Single versus Married. I think we need to have an abundance mentality, even in Marriage. I still think it makes sense in marriage. No Fap makes me always look to escalate. If she is rel…

She's on birth control. She leaves her pills out in the open, and I monitor it. (Originally, this was to track her cycle, because it actually is labeled, "Week 1" "Week 2", but I also just like to make sure she is taking it.) Another way to get the semen into her is if she swallows, but getting blowjobs is for another post. It's something I haven't been as successful at.

Hah. Funny thing is that host wife with big tits is putting out all these signals that she is horny. She posts on Facebook today about how she met a Spanish fitness instructor on a product demo, and that he invited her to join his "spinning" class. Her husband needs to step it up.

I agree. No Fap subreddit is a bit cultish. But I'm talking about No Fap as a pathway to RP. No Fap is about self-improvement. Because it just makes my drive so much stronger and intense. One thing I've found too is that No Fap gives me no choice. I either have to escalate for my wife, or it's on me. I just feel like just rubbing one out - getting lost in a fantasy and jerking it. Now see, I spent too much of my time in fantasy. [EDIT Typos]

Hey, if it works for you. Never had a problem with lasting. All of the no fap theorists are correct. You get more energy. You are more confident, and way, way more horny. The women can SMELL you. It is true. This is it for me.

I've only been here for a little while as well, but it's a good solid place. Great positive reinforcement for changing your life. People have good advice. One thing I would do is avoid the whiny and/or political threads in the main Red Pill thread. When I first start reading RP stuff, I went down that rabbit hole and it was really unhelpful.

I agree it's an easy read. I think that's because it's so logical. It's as if someone bottled up Spock and had him explain women to you.

Is this really being an asshole? Being an asshole is throwing someone else under the bus. Being an asshole is not coming to comfort your wife when she's in the hospital. I think this kind of banter is just being cocky. That's why I'm totally comfortable using this stuff.

Yes, kick the boat, rock the boat. Remember, you have a life vest called manhood. She's got nothing compared to that. [EDIT: I see everyone else said the same thing, which is nice.]

What about opening it up only on the husband's side? The thing that got me thinking about this was my sister-in-law. Her husband cheated on her. She was upset by the cheating. But she was ready to move on, and even said something like, "He's a man. I sort of expected him to mess around once in a while, just don't embarrass me." (He had cheated in a very public way.) So my sister-in-law is ready to resume the relationship, but then he drops the bombshell that he wants to get divorced. ("We don't …

To be honest, I don't know. It's something I really have to think about. And it does play back into the wife. To push my career forward, which is ultimately good for my marriage, I need to grow a set at work.

One thing that's good to remember. Honor codes only work between men. Women don't operate on honor. They operate on value.

It's striking that balance that I find very difficult. I do want to appear like a team player, but I also don't want anyone to take advantage of me. It's in those rushed moments, that I feel like my judgment is not great.

So much wrong going on here. But let me talk about one thing, which is health. Without your health, you are nothing. Put the gaming controller down and go for a walk. If you start feeling the burn, stop and rest. Then walk again. Walking can get you back at least into basic shape. You'll be surprised that as your general level of health increases, the pain may go away. Also read John E. Sarno and his books about psychosomatic pain. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_E._Sarno Why am I giving you …

At work, I have a real weakness of being too nice and too willing to get things done. The result is that co-workers (especially women!) sometimes try to dump more stuff on me because they know it will be handled, and done well. For years, I would just take it and then it would boil up and I would explode in anger. Not healthy, hurt my job prospects. I'm getting better with the anger and saying no, especially when I know what to expect or have time to react. But the particular difficulty I'm havi…

Check out Learned Optimism by Martin Seligman, if you haven't already. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1400078393 It's a Cognitive Behavioral Technique that uses the acronym ABCD. For example: Adversity: I set a boundary, and my wife gave me a huge test. Belief: Her test means I didn't set the boundary right. I did something wrong. Consequence: I replay it over and over in my head and get emotionally wrapped up. Disputation: Her test is just her being a woman. It has nothing to do with the way …

My wife also needs a kick in the ass every so often to work out. Here's how I've been trying to handle it. First, I work out in front of her. I started doing a Calisthenics workout in the morning, right when I wake up. Pushups, bridges, etc. I've noticed that when she sees me working out in front of her, she feels more motivated to work out herself. Second, I've slowly pushed her into social circles with other women who work out. I set up dinner dates with fit couples. So she's picked up a frien…

If there is anything the Red Pill [has taught me], [it is to] pay attention to what women do, NOT what they say. In fact, it's a good rule for all areas of life. [Edit for clarity]

This is the wrong question. Saying "what sorts of things do you keep from your wife" presumes that she actually wants to know. In fact, most wives don't want to hear about your problems, your whining and your insecurities. Want to drive her away? Tell her everything.

Totally hear you on this one. Running a business + Getting in Shape + Fixing Old Demons + Fighting off Bullshit... it's a lot to handle at one time. I think the advice of taking it slow is right. If my energy level is low, I sometimes respond to wife's shit by simply silence or walking away. If she asks "did you hear me?!?," I simply say calmly, "I heard you." Nothing else. Silence in response to a shit tests puts less pressure on yourself to reply. I don't think it's the best in the long run, b…

Should you be mad at her for what she did? Or should you be mad at yourself for being a beta? Women are women, aren't they? They will do what they do. So I'm not sure you can blame her. Better to continue to improve yourself. If you don't want to be with her, then it's time to leave.

That's interesting. Something that just occurred to me is that compartmentalization is related to the rationalization hamster. Women just rationalize the anger straight into life, like instinct.

Thanks. I hadn't thought of these visualizations. One thing I've found is that the best strategy is the simplest. Because in the heat of the moment, you have to be able to pull it out like second-nature. The house with rooms is just the easiest for me. I'm going to try some of the ones you mention though. Maybe in combo with the house.

What is she interested in? MMSLP talks about making sure your wife has a "talent" so she can entertain herself. Otherwise you become her main form of entertainment. I would encourage her to develop a talent that helps with the household and makes you happy. A cooking class would be a great way to get her out of the house and learning a valuable skill that she can serve you with. One caveat--Is she bored sexually? If so, that's what she might be saying when asking for "inclusion." And if you're n…

She asked, "When are you going to be my Captain?" The subtext seems to be you haven't been her Captain and she's not happy about it. I'm new to RP, but I have a lot of experience with submissive women. This is a classic line from a frustrated self-aware submissive. And maybe talking it out is good in that particular situation. But most married guys coming to RP aren't in this situation. The average marriage involves a woman who has been socially conditioned by our feminized society to reject a d…

I am relatively new to RP, but I think the best way to change the world is to improve yourself. Here and there, you can help others who are ready to see the truth. However, other than voting for traditional-minded politicians, most of politics is out of your control. I also come to this from a non-Christian perspective. I have been deeply influenced by Heathenism and Stoicism, which seem to me to have a lot of similarities with RP. There is no almighty God that will save you. Only you can save y…
