Do you know if the police and prosecutors over there generally answer questions regarding ongoing cases or if the charge is available for the media? They arrested and then charged her for killing a man. There isnt a whole lot more to say about it. Her family will obviously try to paint a certain picture and the fact that most everyone now knows what goes on over there makes it easy to sympathize with her.

This is a topic I know a little bit about and I have never heard patients bring it up. Usually they are equally unhappy with the lack of care. It is not unrelated that as it has become more common to have zero kids, have kids at a later age and have fewer kids that the focus has slightly shifted towards caring for family members and even disabled family members (I doubt that has a meaningful effect). It started with using women in employment as a metric of a society. You dont almost double the workforce in a relative short amount of time without there being some consequences. Income disparity was soon discovered so then it was decided a 4 year degree (not needed for most jobs) was the best balancing tool. Even if it didn’t, the idea of entirely reforming the entire education system to benefit less than half of its recipients and disadvantage the remaining students is completely stupid. The fact of the matter it is that there has even been a court case in Scandinavia where a man and a woman were hired from the same ad, started the same day and had the same jobtitle. The court accepted the argument that the woman should be paid more due a longer career and more education yet less was asked of her and she delivered less. This is just one reason why university graduation rates matter and why it is dangerous to accept that degrees alone validate a salary difference.

As this continues the impact of allowing degrees to be a valid reason for hiring (for jobs that dont legally require a degree) or for a salary difference cannot be ignored. I see two possible reasons. Women are smarter and then the same must apply there as has done with physical capability where requirements have been lowered for women. Regarding teacher salaries. Teaching is the profession that maintains the gender gap in education. I personally find it highly suspect to claim they automatically deserve a better salary considering the results. Based on the 2018 PISA results for Australia 50% more boys than girls were below the minimum proficiency level in reading.
