I'll give you advice that runs a bit contrary to the general opinion of this thread. It sounds to me you are starting from a pretty good position. She's already willing to admit some feminists are crazy cunts. First, cede some ground. Admit there is an element of truth to what she says. Then ask her, is it ok for you to make broad, sweeping generalizations about all women, based on the actions of a few. Or, is that sexist? Can you pull up a story about the latest Hollywood divorce settlement and…

I don't see what the big deal is here. If I should ever got to a restaurant like this (I wouldn't), I simply would give a 0% tip. When confronted by the waitress, I would say "I already paid your tip. Take it up with your manager."

I don't want to make assumptions about your age, but you may or may not recall for a period of roughly 30 years that was exactly the official stance of most feminists, informed by feminist academia: the victim must be believed, because women never lie about rape. It's only relatively recently, in the past 3 or 4 years, I've heard feminists back-pedal on this and change the narrative to "it happens so rarely... the false allegations get more media than they deserve... etc." I've been told many ti…

For anyone who is not familiar already with the language significance of this article, watch this video by ManWomanMyth "Misandry - Men Don't Exist." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9De0sVb8bU It's the sort of thing once you see it, you will never be able to un-see it. In general, few people considered it an issue. It was always assumed that a vote represented the household, and that a husband and wife would always vote the same. This was especially true before the adoption of the secret ballot, or "Australian ballot" around 1884. Having husbands and wives both vote created unnecessary overhead in doubling the number of votes to count. More-so, it was inherently unfair to rural populations versus urban populations. Previous to the widespread adoption of the au…

Back as a young man I only got a single A+ in my four year undergraduate in English Lit and Philosophy. It was a required course called 'Turn of the Century Feminist Literature' (late 19th century). I was going through a bad breakup at the time and was out of my head, and ended doing only about 1/4 of the required reading. This was out of character for me. When it came to write my final I just swallowed my pride, wrote what my feminist professor wanted to read, and got the highest mark in my und…

I have zero problems with Frank Underwood (F.U.) He's complex and multi-layered character. In a sense, he's very much like a Dexter: an absolute monster on the surface, but the more you delve into him the more you see an unbreakable backbone of moral sense. Sure he will lie, manipulate, and even kill to further his agenda, but that is offset by so many positive qualities it's hard to judge him in black and white. He's an absolutist egalitarian, especially in relation with his wife. He treats eve…

They're painted into an ideological corner. Literally for decades the official stance has been "a woman would never lie about being raped." And for decades, they went unchallenged on that, because nobody wanted to look like a misogynist for pointing out common sense. But now with shitlords like us speaking out, their bluff is being called. They would rather ignore a story like this than admit they've been lying these past 40 years.

One simply cannot get around the fact that the word "objectification" is a made-up word with the sole intent of shaming and demonizing healthy, heterosexual, male sexuality. Feminists push the narrative that female sexuality is suppressed and maligned in our culture, but that simply is not true. For every use of the word 'slut' I see or hear, I see or hear the word 'objectify' a hundred times. A fact that runs contrary to the feminist narrative, and has been suppressed until the MRM came out of …

This is the part that gets me. If she were talking about Jews, blacks, women, or any protected minority, she could face prison time for hate speech laws. Because she is talking about men, not only is this fit to print, not only can she be given a pulpit from a university to preach this hate, but I, as a Canadian taxpayer, am forced by law to fund this hate speech in universities across the country with my taxes.

Haha, funny, but not really what I was implying. I known girls who are totally casual for first dates (jeans, etc.) but when there's a rich guy involved go full on new outfit, hairdo, makeup. It's both funny and sad to behold.

This may not be a popular answer in this subreddit, but here is how, as a man, I would like women to treat the paying for dates question. He may offer to pay, or to go dutch. Either way don't judge him. In this day and age men are just as confused as women. I am seriously of the opinion that the whole "she was asking for it" or "what was she wearing" is a red herring deliberately conflated by feminist demagogues. What I think happened: 1) Definition of rape is broadened from forcible entry to "unable to meaningfully consent". On comes a tidal wave of date rape cases. 2) Police investigators and prosecutors now find themselves in a tough position, to prove that a felony crime (in some cases, a capital crime) occurred, with zero physical evidence to …

I met a friend of a friend last night. I don't really know him too well, but he's in town for a few weeks and we were having a few drinks and talking. I had no idea he read MRA / RedPill material, but he called himself an anti-feminist. Nobody I know would have called themselves an anti-feminist three years ago. Men are reading. The message is getting out. It is okay to stand up against feminism, and that doesn't make you a woman-hater, misogynist, rape-lord. That's progress to me.

Do you think that Men have less political power than Women? Why? Women are 52% of voters and actually have the politicians attention. I would also add that women have a tendency to vote as a block in ways that men do not, and this results in as much or more political influence than the 52/48 divide. As an example, the 2008 presidential election, when Hillary Clinton lost the Democratic primary and McCain announced Palin as his running mate a number (not large, but still significant) of women vot…

Because patriarchy... blah blah blah... institutionalized misogyny... blah blah blah. But seriously. As a man who grew up with traditionally feminine features and temperament, this is a very important question to me, and indeed an important reason why the MRM needs to exist. For 30-odd years, the only group actively talking about gender-identity issues were feminists, and they essentially held a monopoly on the subject. And a lot of strange, contrived, and sometimes outright absurd notions arose…

IMO, the underlying concept is only useful in one and only one context: in contemplating your own 'privilege', which can help you be respectful of others and their points of view. Pointing the finger at other people's 'privilege' is always a dick move. That includes every single use of the 'privilege' concept by feminists and SJWs.

Go ahead and dismiss the academic reference. Sure... not like that was the meat of my post anyway. The point of including tumblr is that this attitude is prevalent amongst both the pop-feminism crowd (agreed, not good feminists) and the academic elite of feminism. Honestly, I don't know what else I need to do to point out that many feminists (maybe not every single one down to the last) across many spectrums will maintain that women cannot be sexist towards men.

Unless your reality includes feminists, by the Tumblr-load, outright saying such things that a woman cannot be sexist against men, because men are not oppressed as a class. If you're going to be investigating the suffragette movement, be sure to examine its close ties with the prohibition movement. For roughly 80 years they were virtually the same with about a 90% overlap between the two groups. Alcohol prohibition was the catalyst for women demanding the right to vote, because it was the first significant political issue that wives' opinions differed from their husbands', and women demanded the right to vote so their voices could be heard on the issue. Exactly right. We in the MRA community have to be aware that when we challenge feminists, we are not just calling into question someone's beloved (but fictitious) world-view. Often-times, we are calling into question the validity of a person's entire graduate education. Let me put my prediction hat on. Expect in the near (2-5 year) future, feminists take this up as a women's cause, as post-undergraduate unemployment rises. They will argue that rising rates of university graduates looking for meaningful employment disproportionately affects women, and demand that the government step in to provide taxpayer-funded jobs and student-loan amnesty. Obligatory link to manwomanmyth's youtube video on male invisibility. Women are almost always shorter than men. Now researchers argue that it is because the girls are getting less food and fewer opportunities to grow. Science! Feminism style. Today feminists have finally overtaken the Creationist Museum on the looney-tunes-crazy meter.

Yet one more 'argh....feminists!' moment for me. The cultural narrative I was raised with, and just assumed to be true until I started reading MRA material, was that Chinese parents choose boys over girls because the Chinese simply deem girls inferior. End of story. Nowhere (nowhere!) in feminism or our common cultural narrative is this little fact mentioned, that men in Chinese society are expected to provide for their parents in their old age, while daughters are not, and this fact alone can a…

I have absolutely no issue with the line 77 cents on the dollar on its own, and for all I know, it could be completely accurate. It's when the line is immediately followed up (as it always is) with "equal pay for equal work" that the lie manifests. People who push this line always play fast and loose with the word 'equal'. What is a feminist logic is a question I’ve spent the past six months thinking about and researching. There are not a lot of women in philosophy, and there are definitely not a lot of feminist philosophers, so I don’t have a good answer for this question. There is great scholarship talking about weather a feminist logic can build off of formal logic or if it has to reject the laws of identity and create something entirely new. There are solid arguments for both camps, personally I’m swayed by th…

Another documentary in a similar vein. I watched this on Netflix this summer: High Steel http://www.nfb.ca/film/high_steel It is about Mohawk workers who have worked through the 20th century doing steel-frame construction of high-rise buildings. Again, it is an excellent counter-story to the feminist narrative of male privilege. It shows real men doing real work, often being away from their families for weeks at a time just to bring home a paycheck to provide for them.

I just watched a great bio-documentary this weekend: Jiro Dreams of Sushi: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1772925/ I wanted to post this to /r/mensrights but it's not strictly a men's rights issue. However, when you listen to Jiro talk about his work ethic, of mastering his craft every day for over 65 years, it provides one of the best counter-stories to the feminist narrative I have ever heard. This is what the real history of men has been: not privilege, but diligence, patience, and humility.

The entire game makes much more sense in this context. TLoU is 95% populated with men (scavengers, cannibals, Fireflies) that you are brutally killing off. The original concept would explain why the population you see is 95% male, as well as why human life is so expendable. As it is, the game seems absurd that in a post-apocalyptic world with humanity's survival on the edge, human life appears to have virtually no worth.

For me, the term "privilege' only has one valid use. That is when it is pointed inward, to oneself, during your own quiet contemplation. When tracing back your life, what you've done well and where you have come up short, it is useful to take a full accounting of any natural advantages that helped you along the way. Natural advantages, or "privilege" is not a product of your choice, so it is foolish to falsely attribute your successes that have more to do with natural advantage to personal choic…

I would turn it around on her. Speaking as a man, there is no compelling evidence to suggest that misogyny exists in any significant degree throughout Western culture. Any apparent incidence of misogyny is merely women's heightened status of privilege backfiring on her. If "potential to become a human being"(not to put words in your mouth) is the criterion, a bedroom with a horny couple would meet that just fine It doesn't really, though. Absolutely I don't think it is a realistic expectation to ever see it happen. But it is both a good mental exercise, and also an extremely good talking point for MRAs. This point can be brought out in any public discourse between an MRA and a feminist: MRAs just want all legislation to be written gender-neutral. Watch the feminist object to that, and everyone will see their true colors. I agree that the lion's share of discrimination exists in the application of law, not the letter. However, enf…

I believe we have really got to start fighting the LAWS that are keeping men back as well as the the social norms. Well obviously. But you're not going to convince advocates of this proposal. But there are so many grey areas already (massages, call-girls in the local paper, escorts) and places where it is so weakly enforced, that it effectively isn't enforced. I think the only benefit of criminalizing solicitation is to keep it off the streets and out of the public eye, much like the 'brown paper bag' solution to alcohol in public (if you're a fan of The Wire).

This is what I mean by the dichotomy in my last line. It's clear, that advocates of this proposal only want to punish men and protect women. I don't think anyone who advocates for this proposal would argue that it is an effective model in any other situation. And nor is it in this one.

This whole proposal is patently ridiculous and unenforceable too, for the sole reason that engaging in adult consensual sex is not a crime (at least not yet). Where do you draw the line between a man paying for sex, and a man leaving a cash 'gift' after sex. Or a man 'sugar-daddying' and paying a woman's rent. Or buying her clothes and gifts. Or paying her mortgage? If you criminalize prostitution only on the consumer side, the prostitutes/johns will just find a way to rename/rebrand the activit…

Or would their argument magically flip around, as soon as the situation veers from the dichotomy of punish man / don't punish wom…

I am encouraged hearing your story. It gives me hope for the future. For some context, I'm 40 now. When I went through the educational system twenty years ago, there was no dissenting voice against feminism. If your teacher was a feminist, you simply had to accept it as authority. Failure to do so meant you were a primitive throwback who hated women, and a teacher would not hesitate to call you out and shame you in front of the whole class. High school was not too bad, but university got much wo…

Exactly, and there's some forms of hatred that are socially (and morally) acceptable. And there's many that's not. Here in the MRHM, we often point out the following distinction. Generally, we hate feminists. But that's ok, because that's hating an ideology, and hating the fact that some people choose to embrace that ideology. On the other side, we point out that (some) feminists hate men. And that's not ok, because you don't choose to be a man or not. It's in our general social consensus that i…

There's so many varied levels of hatred. For sure, both powerlessness and fear are prime motivators of hatred. But I think hatred can easily exist without either. Let me clarify our context here. I think we're both agreeing on the following statement: (Some) feminists hate men. We're not talking about a kind of hatred where they would actually go out and do physical harm on men. It takes an enormous amount of hatred to go that far. Sure there's Valerie Solanas who shot three men, but she's the e…

The problem is that so many young women feel so powerless that they hear the lesbian feminists demonizing men and they jump in on the action. I have to disagree. I don't think powerlessness is the root of feminists hatred for men. I believe everyone hates. It's inherent to human nature. Hate is natural. It's not strictly a circular argument, because preferring a larger penis ≠ wanting a larger penis for one's son. To put it another way, I'm not rich and really don't care about being rich. I'm not in favour of co-opting the term, because 'patriarchy' is actually a proper word, with a proper definition. It is the passing down of inherited wealth, property, and titles to a (usually first-born) son. As postpatriarchalman described it, patriarchy evolved as a means to increase wealth and power of societies. I prefer to call it a strategy, though, not a system. Calling it a social strategy infers that there are many competing social strategies, but in the ancient world patriarchy turne…

I think men are every bit as capable of getting subtle hints as women. Worst case scenario of a woman misinterpreting a hint and making a move: a polite rebuke and some nervous laugher to shake it all off. Recruiting agencies generally take this role. They offer pre-screened candidates for managers to consider. They are gradually replacing the role of internal HR, leaving HR to the above tasks of insurance, benefits, etc. It's in the recruiting companies best interest to only present qualified candidates, since every candidate is a reflection back on the recruiting agency.

Logically necessary? Absolutely not. The stated aim of both feminism and MRA is full equality between the sexes. We may, however, fundamentally disagree on the definition of 'equality'. This comes to mind. I think it was on TIL a few weeks back. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_I_of_France That's sort of hyperbolic, but it proves the point. Privilege is just not a useful term at all. It is only a polemic word used by one perceived 'class' to gain some kind of moral superiority over another perceived class. Human life is complex and nuanced. Whatever little insight that is gained by the notion of privilege is far out-shadowed by the overarching amount of class hatred and ignorance it creates. In real human life, a king can have less actual privilege than a potato farmer. It all depends on the circumstances of their individual lives.

Back to our original context, rolling back VAWA would certainly solve a lot of problems for men. I'm not proposing--and I don't think you would find many libertarians who would--to eliminate basic laws for assault or battery. Those need to be more consistently enforced, equally, for all people regardless of sex, orientation, race, or political affiliation.
/r/MensRights20/03/13 07:48 PM
1

A man who assaults a gay man in the most rural parts of Mississippi is not going to face justice the way a man would in NYC That is exactly the problem. We don't need a host of news laws to make it illegal to assault a gay man. We need the laws already put in place (assault, battery) to actually be enforced.
/r/MensRights20/03/13 03:40 PM

I think it is morally wrong, and inherently foolish, to pass laws specifically to protect gays. The law should protect everyone from violence, and threats of violence. It should be applied evenly and undiscriminating. The modern liberal outcry to offer special protections to certain classes, sexual orientation, races, sexes, special interest groups is exactly the reason we have atrocities like VAWA on the books. It shouldn't be illegal to assault a woman (or a homosexual man); it should be illeg…

I have to strongly disagree with this. There are inherent qualities in both libertarianism to make it more friendly to MRAs, and in socialism/progressivism to make it more friendly to feminism. It is not just a straw man. Feminism relies on the power of the state to force equality on people, whether they want it or not. It demands laws get passed to ensure CEOs are hired at a 50/50 male/female ratio (even if only 5% of candidates are women). Feminism's abuses are the very same as socialism's abu…

I believe the non-agression-principle is the core idea that binds all libertarians together. And why is this not considered discrimination based on sex?? It is the official dogma of many feminists that it is impossible for a woman to be sexist against a man, thanks to a redefinition of sexism via the (feminist-dominated) school of sociology that defines sexism as 'prejudice plus power'. Even when a woman has power, such as a university professor over a class of students, it doesn't count because all women as a class are disadvantaged compared to all men as a class. So to many feminists,…

An interesting article. I'll read it through entirely tonight. Just skimmed it. From the quotations all I can see here is mental gymnastics, or failure to stick to convictions when they turn out to be inconvenient. I don't see anything that could be a valid moral stance for anyone. Yes, I would agree with this. While I would not state that Feminism is directly responsible for the act of a false allegation, it has provided the legal base that empowers anyone wishing to make one. Both of these causes stem from the same goal: to put more rapists in prison. This might be long. Every responsible citizen in a law-abiding socie…

I am a great advocate that issues of gay/lesbian rights are ultimately very beneficial to the MRA cause. While gay/lesbian rights traditionally fall under the aegis of feminism, I believe that as we fully embrace the legitimacy of gay marriage, issues like divorce will need to be addressed. I agree with your sarcasm (that's sarcasm, right?). The liberal conscience really goes into overdrive when it comes to the fate of girls in the third world. Having never been to Africa myself, I suspend any judgement on who 'has it worse' there, girls or boys. Westerners' talk of women in Africa always strikes me as paternalistic and smugly superior. I never fail to be amazed at the social justice hero who drones about the evils of colonialism and the west imposing its culture on indigenous peop…

To expand on your point, battling hypocrisy takes more than vigilance, it takes principle and abstract reasoning. It requires analysing two different actions (one, you're doing it, another, someone else) abstracting the common element from both, identifying the wrong in one, and recognizing the same wrong in the other. Abstract reasoning is not a quality all people share equally.

I actually ventured over there for the first time this week, just to see what it was about. After checking posts and comments, my gut feeling is it's not so much trolling and not so much actual hate for women, and more iconoclasm. Violence against women is a real sacred cow in our society, a genuine taboo. In our modern, hyper-relativist culture, it's hard to push any boundary that genuinely offends. I think a lot of people posting there are posting there for pure shock value, to break a taboo j…

Fantastic, concise summary of the entire wage-gap phenomenon. Is this taken from the FAQ? Men, in contrast, often take jobs with less desirable characteristics in pursuit of higher pay. They work long hours and overnight shifts. They tar roofs in the sun, drive trucks across the country, toil in sewer systems, stand watch as prison guards, and risk injury on fishing boats, in coal mines, and in production plants. Such jobs pay more than others because otherwise no one would want to do them. This…

If you would truly like to understand the issue fully, I highly recommend this presentation from former feminist and acclaimed author Warren Farrel from his book, Why Men Earn More. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cb_6v-JQ13Q&feature=relmfu It's an hour long, but you'll well understand by about 10 minutes in. Privilege is an interesting concept in and of itself, but the word should be used roughly 1/100th the times that it is currently tossed around. The only proper response to 'check your privilege' is 'check yours'. 999/1000 people who have ever used this phrase are middle-class and living in a first-world nation. Genuinely poor people living in third-world countries don't talk this way.

I guess I'm just going on a gut reaction here. Speaking as a near-40, 20-year vegetarian, extreme introvert, literature buff and computer programmer, who has been in a couple of relationships but never really chased women, the phenomenon of Japan's 'grass-eating men' hits very, very close to home. I've read of it. I'm not sure if I would like follow that as a paradigm as a positive shift in gender sexual power dynamic. And besides, that's Japan. When it comes to sexual norms in general, North America is about as close to Japan as we are to Pluto.

Unfortunately, the only historically successful means of doing this has been war. And I, for one, am not willing to go to war just to tilt the sexual power dynamic. Not worth it.

Here is the advice that I give to my female friends. It's not strictly an MRA position, but I find it has a good balance between the two extremes. This applies for first dates, and maybe second / third dates. First, if a man doesn't offer to pay after the date, the girl should default to splitting the bill. Some girls expect that an hour or two of their company has an implicit monetary value. Ultimately, this just cheapens all women in the eyes of men. We're 2012, and the sexes are equal. Second…

I can feel the sense of frustration in her, and I can empathize with that. But the author is young, and like many people her age absolutely fails to grasp the principle of the free market. Ok, being 'that guy', Cleopatra lived in the time of Julius Caesar. You can call that time Ancient Egypt if you like, but I think it much more accurate to call it Hellenistic Egypt. I'm going to play Devil's advocate here and suggest that calling women the gatekeepers of sex can be construed as a sexist statement. Same old feminist ideology never changes: Men outperform women (ex: alleged wage gap): Cause must attributable to institutionalized sexism, or cultural / learning bias. Implying that cause might be related to biological differences, or personal choices / habits is decried as misogyny and must be categorized as hate speech. My example doesn't have to be so extreme. It's just the first thing that came to mind. But the principle holds up. Would it be less offensive to your sensibilities if I describe it as a 'm'an begging in pathetic supplication in desperate hopes he can have sex with a v'agina'? Because that is technically a little more accurate to the definition, and it avoids the collective slur to women, which was unintended.

I think we read in different circles. I see the term 'mangina' and 'white knight' used a lot in the mra articles I read, but I rarely ever come across derogatives like bitch, fag, or pussy. I won't discount your experience if you see it often, but I honestly don't run across it myself. In the few instances I have, those people have been reprimanded by the community very quickly. It's not really my strategy. I don't like to throw the term around. I'm only explaining what is my understanding of the term, and I definitely don't speak for everybody. 'Mangina' is definitely a slur, but it has more to do with describing a man who has sold out other men to get what he wants (in typical cases, pussy), than it is describing a man to be effeminate or feminine in any way. I think of it more as a 'm'an, siding with the v'aginas'. Is that more clear?

The concept goes a little deeper than not conforming to a specific conception of masculinity. Take, for example, the passing of VAWA legislation. The feminist lobby organizes en force to put together a specific set of legislation and push it onto the desk of legislators. Because of its wording, this legislation deeply hurts mensrights. Legislators (mostly men) don't want to strike down the legislation, because that makes them look like they hate women. That's the way it will be spun, anyway. So,…

You make a good point. Take an upvote. Can you suggest a better label to apply to men who work against mensrights because of their need to garner female approval, in the hope it will improve their chances for sex? 'mangina' is insulting. On the other hand, it is a clever play on words to describe exactly what we mean.

Despite your downvotes, I have to thoroughly agree with your sentiment. Feminism's power lies in co-opting the central control the government wields. I view MRA as an essentially libertarian movement. It is not our goal to write up legislation to dictate how men and women should be treated in society. It is entirely our goal to remove legislation which discriminates against men.

I think MRA as a community does a pretty good job at policing itself. Most of us do not tolerate elements of hatred or bigotry, and we call out people pretty quickly who just have an axe to grind and do not contribute positively to the discussion.

They did that in Ottawa back in 1995, I believe. I remember because my girlfriend at the time celebrated it by going around town topless, often. God bless her soul.

I might be completely alone on this one. But when I think of the question on why 'women can't go topless', I have a completely opposite perspective from what seems like the traditional wisdom. *** warning this post is graphic *** I don't think it has ever been men who demanded for morality reasons that women need to cover their breasts. I think it has always been women who demand that all women collectively should hide their breasts when they are not breastfeeding. It's not a question of moralit…

I have to agree with devotedpupa on here. Insulting people is not a tactic we should stoop to. I've lost my temper a time or two on flamewars, and it always looks bad. In activism we should strive to act and behave like Ghandi. Always stay dignified and polite to your adversaries.

I'm not sure if resorting to ad hominem (name calling) is really called for. I am simply, and politely, asking you to point me to a school of thought that poses a contrary viewpoint to evolutionary psychology, one that convincingly debunks it, and one that brings with it the same rigor of science and peer review. I have met people who despise evolutionary psychology, but never anyone who can supply me with an alternative. If you could, that would be very helpful to me. Until someone shows me an …

I don't spend any time talking with PUAs. It's not really my thing. But I do pretty thoroughly agree with evolutionary psychology. Do you disagree with the premise that men and women choose sex for different reasons, and place different priorities on sex? And that in most sexual encounters, it's the woman's consent that presents the highest barrier? Because I can't think of any way to refute that premise that makes any sense to me.

And not all prostitutes are coerced. I am pretty sure the majority of prostitutes in North America do so by choice . The comic presumes that all prostitution is by coercion, which is not true at all. And as for coerced prostitution, that is clearly rape, and I don't think you will find many (any) MRA's in favor of that. B) I'm not clear what you are saying here.

And it also hurts /mr to imply that when one man commits an act of violence, all men somehow share in the culpability. I think the reason I got drawn into MR is that I'm tired of having lived my whole life as a committed non-violent, vegetarian intellectual, and yet still I should feel like I am personally responsible for all of the violence ever committed in the world just because of my anatomy.

Thank you for posing these questions, even if you haven't received one of the warmest response in this thread. I would like to address your concern: By the time you adopt these policies you are a mirror for the group who you actively fight against because you narrowly define yourself to solely advocate for Men. Because of that, any posting here doesn't favor of equality, it advocates (exclusively) eliminating female-gender privilege. This is a very good point. To answer it, I need to draw on the…

I think AntiFeministMedia is getting excessive down-votes for his wording, but I think the core idea is fine. By "putting women in their place", you can think ying and yang, opposing forces. If you remove all resistance from one side, the other side will run amok. Men need to put women in their place in the same way women need to put men in their place. I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt here. But he should be more careful with his wording. That is exactly the kind of line a feminist troll …

My favorite part comes when you reverse the genders in this situation, in situations where the wife wants more physical intimacy and the husband has lost interest. In these cases it is always positioned as the man's fault, and that he is not living up to his marital obligation by pleasing his spouse, and the wife is given moral carte blanche to find her satisfaction elsewhere. Everywhere I look, this attitude seems to be reinforced by popular culture and media. Of course, it's white knight males…

I had to go re-read the article to make sure we are talking about the same post. In what conceivable way can this article be deemed misogynist? Nothing in the article is even about women. It's about men, and male sexuality. Just goes to show that a feminist will label anything they dislike or find offensive misogynist, even if it has nothing at all to do with women. That word gets thrown around way too much.

The other enormous problem with big-tuna's wish of being able to withdraw consent at any time, is then there is nothing at all to stop any woman from declaring any act of consensual sex an act of rape. Withdrawing consent is a key goal of the feminist agenda. With that right, women would literally have the power to jail any man at will, with no proof other than his word against hers. And in our courts, that will always favor the woman. It is a power with such tremendous potential for abuse. And …

"Better 1000 innocent men go to jail than one guilty man go free? Is that your point?" Funny you should say that. I was just thinking to myself a few days ago, after reading another piece on FRAs and getting myself into a rage: Better 1000 guilty men go free, than a single innocent is imprisoned for a false rape charge. I was raging then, but I stand behind it now.

I care. In your last two posts alone you managed to put a dent in years worth cynicism and gave a huge bump to my respect to women in general (which feminism has been tearing at for years). It's encouraging to see that MRM and feminism do not have to degenerate into a gender war.

Ok, I'm going to pull a Godwin's Law here. I admit it. I'm shamed. I apologize in advance. To the average 1930's German citizen, a Nazi probably came across as a very nice person. Confident, outgoing, sure of himself. To the average sourthern white man, a KKK member might come across cordial, polite, a true gentleman. You don't get to experience the full effect of feminist hatred first-hand when you are a woman (and more-so, a feminist).

If there is one useful thing you can learn here, and tell your feminists colleagues about, it's that misandry is a word, and it does exist. It is so pervasive, we are conditioned to not even see that it's there. In the (radical) feminist world-view, women have been an oppressed minority throughout (patriarchal) civilization. The MRM has a different world-view. Ours is that men have always been the disposable sex. Sure the top 1% ruling class has always been directed by a stern male voice. But th…

No. That is exactly why MRM is named precisely as it is. It is a movement, nothing more. It is not "Maleism" It does not aspire to become a political ideology, or overrun Washington with lobbyists, or redefine the meaning of the word "man" and the word "woman" as academic feminism has. If feminism had named itself the Women's Rights Movement, it would fight for a handful of identified rights, achieve them, and then gradually disband itself once those goals were attained. One problem with feminis…

Otherwise, you are complicit.
