There's no reason why you can't meet for a beer or something. In my few outings those actually tended to be the most successful. If you have to take them out try to avoid going to 'dinner'. Bars later at night are the best bet, you don't have to buy them a drink, and you avoid wasting too much of your time.

Good point. I don't know where I got the notion that feminists would be against it prostituting oneself to (in this literal case) the patriarchy.

Wouldn't actively being a prostitute just about immediately null anything you have to say about women's rights to begin with?

What is the definition they are using for homeless there? I've personally never seen a homeless female in my entire life. Granted I'm not in some huge city or anything, but I've just never seen one.

"Including people with disabilities.", Sorry, Could've been a little more PC but I was just trying to be quick by assuming people without disabilities were normal.

Just in case anyone was wondering. . Therefore, it is our responsibility to create a safer space for marginalized identities including people with disabilities, people of color, LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender/transsexual, queer, intersex, and asexual) people, women, and class oppressed people. Basically, if you're a normal white male, fuck you.

Have you asked her to lay off a bit? I mean, it just sounds like you haven't even confronted her about her attitude. Just politely ask her to chill out with the comments when you, your manager, and her are in the same room.

I know, it just struck a cord with me. I was typing a lot of this in that thread and realized that I should just make another post because my end point was totally off from the original. It really was almost me "appreciating/wishing" this happen to my father, because I feel like he might of wanted to appreciate it. I almost feel like this post doesn't even belong here, but, my final thought/point does. I appreciate your sentiments greatly. I just hope that someone reads this and walks away with …

Man, I honestly wish I felt this way about him earlier. My mom, as oblivious as she is to what he did, she knows now- I wish she would have let me know of all the things earlier. I haven't responded to his texts since I was about 23 besides the "hey, how you doin". I want to link this to his number, but don't think I will. I feel like the cold shoulder is appropriate in this situation. thanks for reading, needed to vent.

Having sex with a man who doesn't want it is the equivalent of giving an unwanted gift; potentially a small annoyance to the recipient, but in the end it should just be enjoyed as far as possible, or ignored. There's no way it can be considered actually bad. All I could think of was the Oprah Bee's gift. Because that train of thought is this level of stupid.

And when you send me these articles to try to... I don't know, explain your position, show me why I might be wrong, etc. it hurts me and deeply saddens me because it makes me feel like you've never given much thought to my life. Wat? Basically, How she feels is more important because shes the woman and for you to even bring up why she might be wrong shows that that you don't 'care' about her choices nor do you respect her field of study? She seems so concerned with herself that she can't be both…

Perfect, and if his ex is close to anyone in the family try to make them keep in on the down low. There's not much she could do without knowing people there, but even people from out of town can submit stories to a local newspaper and make your life hell again. I don't know how crazy this person is, but she seems pretty well over the line and delusional. I wish you much luck on your journey, and much happiness in your relationship. She alluded to her telling him to put on a condom, and him refusing and starting to have sex with her anyway. Thats not how I read it, it sounded more like she asked him to wear a condom, he whined that he didnt want to, then she relented. Thats not rape. That's what I took from it too. Giving in kind goes against the rape thing really. You obviously want it/are game if you give in, right? I mean, there a limitations on it, but this wouldn't be one of those cases to me at least.

which is kind of insulting when you think about it. Also, super insulting in some cases where they think they are speaking for everyone, but really its just themselves. That's the main thing that pisses me off about feminism, I would honestly love to respect it, but the people that show up to represent it are truly just terrible people in 75% of their aspects. Sure, its the same thing as being extremely left or right winged, but jesus christ- realize that you are attempting to speak and represen…

I would much rather stay home, cook, clean, and make dinner than work personally. I would love to be a stay at home dad someday, but according to her I would be depriving the women of a choice- oh! And it's MRAs fault that I would even dare think in this way.

This is the main reason I come to this subreddit. There are plenty of people smarter than me here, but learning from them is helping me protect myself and my views. That great thing about it is we don't have to address the non-equiltarians with "fuck-you" articles to belittle them for having different opinions, people that are that indoctrinated do it themselves- but the bad thing about it is that people often confuse strong emotions for facts.

What I mean is that I don't like the way I'm viewing this matter because I know it's mostly not true Welcome, to the right place then. Plenty of people that input here have great links and articles to sway you to the thinking that not all men are pigs. It seems like you've been wronged in the past and were looking for reasons to hate men, which you found in feminist articles that do nothing but bash us. Now, it seems like you're ready to "forgive & forget" so to speak, and move on. That's how I'…

These are so untangible to feminism (or what I consider it). Because you are poverty huh? Gee, makes a lot of sense. Because your Uni is named after a man? really? thats the best you've got? The only one I could even agree with was probably the one about paying for birth control. Even that's a stretch.

Everytime you are about to have a conversation with her, tell her that shes not allowed to say, "You just don't get it", she can however attempt to actually explain herself. Or--- You could walk up to her, and when you sense the conversation is about to go that way say, "I'd love to explain it to you, but you probably wouldn't get it." I personally think the second one will get her down from her high horse and the first one is taking the highroad by bypassing what is making you both frustrated.

This depends on who they are leaving, people in good homes have divorces too. Your comment irks me because you talk as if they never get the child. People always have to worry about child care if they have children, you're comment implies that people don't worry about their children when they are not around.( this goes both ways. ) when I have a child I would hope that I prefer them to be with their mother, divorced or not, instead of a nanny or program, etc..

Private Hell? You got your own room and shit? We are in this together. I'm paying attention now so when I do get married I can possibly at least have a fair custody battle for my possible children. I was thinking about this, in my own mind I came to the conclusion that the woman who has made a false claim should serve the time(the male would have received) AND be on the list. But, I know next to nothing about laws and loop holes so its just wishful thinking.

I disagree. It SHOULD be an issue, why is this any different than an older couple? Sure, they are on TV, but if its 'reality' than this is just horrifically saddening. I'm sure some teenage girls are out there trying to get pregnant just for a shot on the show, I know it seems dumb as hell, but there are people that dumb out there. Why wouldn't they make a TV show about the 1 of 1000 that do make it? It's supposedly 'reality', therefore they should have next to no interference with the couple. T…

This is a very plausible case, I wouldn't suggest going after money from them but a better situation for the kids, that way you have a better chance of wining you case. It make no sense for the kids to wait outside a gate when they could be sitting next to their classrooms waiting for the teachers to open the door. It semes ridiculous to me that she called the cop in the first place, you didn't do anything illegal and you talked to parents. I'm sure they didn't feel harassed, as a parent you thi…

You're literally either 13, or just have never had a relationship before. Dude needs to man up? He just realized that everything he did for his entire life is getting up and leaving him. How dare you insult him, obviuosly not knowing what its like to work for emotions and a house. Women don't always get the kid, especially if they are unemployed and the man doesn't make a ridiculous amount of money. So man up and face the fact?
