I understand why the picture set you off, but you have to at least understand that it wasn't meant for situations such as yours.
It's difficult to talk about, because what happened to you is absolutely beyond reproach. No one would readily suggest that picture was meant for your father.

I know, it just struck a cord with me.
I was typing a lot of this in that thread and realized that I should just make another post because my end point was totally off from the original. It really was almost me "appreciating/wishing" this happen to my father, because I feel like he might of wanted to appreciate it.
I almost feel like this post doesn't even belong here, but, my final thought/point does. I appreciate your sentiments greatly. I just hope that someone reads this and walks away with the thought that everything isn't black/white in equality. Shits way too fucking complicated and personal to be on the outside and tell other people what is justice. I'm fucking torn.
It's come to the point where I can't forgive my own father, dad. It fucking sucks. I have a great step dad now, I just wish he/I had more time to spend together. The sadly ironic thing is, he gets harassed and garnished for wages for 1 of his 4 children. He short payed and missed 1 payment when he was out of a job.
Let me say this, when my mother and he got married, I lost a great friend and gained a step dad. I respect him a lot.
I'd like to point out that you should question whether or not you should even consider your biological father your "Father". You have a wonderful step-dad? Sounds like he has earned the title of "Father", whereas your biological father has not.
Not to get all philosophical on you.

Duly noted. I wish there was something more I could say except that I believe you and respect your views. I'm sorry you had such a hard time. Your father sounds like a real piece of work, and I don't blame you in the slightest for being angry about it.

Man, I honestly wish I felt this way about him earlier.
My mom, as oblivious as she is to what he did, she knows now- I wish she would have let me know of all the things earlier. I haven't responded to his texts since I was about 23 besides the "hey, how you doin".
I want to link this to his number, but don't think I will. I feel like the cold shoulder is appropriate in this situation.

What are you gonna do? When you're young, you're sooooo easy to manipulate. We all naturally want to look up to our parents, and it's a brutal, brutal thing when you realise that you've been had.
Anyway, cheers for talking about this stuff. I think your story is needed on this forum so that people get a bit of perspective.

If it helps; you are still very young. In time, your pain will be less, and it's possible that your father will grow up a bit as well. A lot of people say that you stop maturing when you become a drug addict.
You'll always carry some wound, but pain is often what helps us grow. I'm glad you have a mother and a stepfather to love you as you deserve.
