This is what I said, too. If someone asks me what I make, I respond with my gross pay. Honestly I think OP is childish, doesn't understand finances, and is carrying on about nothing. I don't really care if she breaks up with the guy or not, but I reckon he is being truthful and she's being ridiculous tbh.

Idk, I'm going to go against the grain here. If someone asks me how much I make, I tell them what I make before taxes. When I've had this conversations, that's what I expect from the other person as well, otherwise I would ask 'How much do you take home?'. I actually have to think for a minute about how much I make after taxes. If this is the only time there's been a question of him being untruthful and you haven't had any other issues, I would chalk it up to a misunderstanding.

These men are so sad snd emotionally constipated. Rather than sitting down, having a real conversation about what went wrong, how they can learn or grow, it's all about trying to put on a front, worrying about some 'sales psychology,' stonewalling and being adversarial. There's nothing about healthy responses to difficult conversations, being able to be vulnerable etc. Your lack of emotional depth is probably why she's breaking up with you in the first place, so good on you reinforcing her decis…

Demand they radio for another officer, scream and make a scene so passers by will film you, resist arrest, do whatever it takes to avoid being moved to a 2nd location. Maybe if you're a white woman. If you're black, brown or Indigenous this has the potential to go very badly for you.

Totally agree. Would love to see a ban on these types of posts. We're just amplifying their voices which invites more of them to message in hopes of getting posted.

God I hate these types of posts. So some loser is cluttering up your inbox bc he's not allowed to post to the sub, and now you're posting his words to the sub for him so we all have to see them. And he gets to sit back and feel pleased with himself that he's gotten you to spray his shit all over all of us.

I'm not a fan of polyamory, but this argument doesn't hold water. We've had to normalise women having financial freedom and wearing pants, being openly queer, interracial relationships and a lot of other things that were (and sometimes still are) considered subversive.

Totally agree, and I've said it before as well. I hate seeing the screenshots of some shitty thing some shitty male said. If we're meant to be cutting these losers off, why post their words to expose more women to them?? It's the opposite of being woman-focused and giving them the attention they crave so much.

Eh, I don't take dating advice from men with face and neck tattoos. He looks like he's made some bad life choices. And I don't need or want someone I'm dating to pay my bills. Like what? That's so weird, do you get your water bill and hand it over? Wtf. Take me out to dinner, on a date, and that's lovely. But unless we're living together I'm not expecting my partner to contribute to my living expenses.

This sounds like performance anxiety. I think we need distinguish between performance anxiety, which is normal especially if they're with someone new or inexperienced, and PIED, which is decidedly not normal. A majority of my partners were quite inexperienced when we started dating and they can get a bit in their own heads or get a bit of nerves. I think it's understandable.

Yeeessss. I regret giving them my data and photos for them to collect. And to think they're keeping track of who I'm swiping on, who's swiping on me, our conversations etc etc all for their own purposes. Giving away our information for these corporations that are just as happy if we find love or are raped by men on their sites, as long as they get our attention and money. Actually they're less happy if we find love, since we'd delete the apps then.

I'm literally putting pictures up and waiting for likes. This gets me, too. Checking the apps and feeling disappointed if I haven't had anyone new 'like' me, or I haven't gotten enough 'likes' from some fucking rando I wouldn't glance twice at in the street. But here I am, like a clown, hoping that they 'liked' my pictures and thinking about how I could make myself more appealing to them. No. No. No. No.

And that doesn't say anything about the quality of those relationships or how long they lasted. Out of that 39%, how many of them are relationships with toxic or abusive men? Or a 'committed' relationship that lasted a few months? This is the reality of the promise that's being held out to us.

This is exactly it--why even invite this bullshit into your life?? Nobody, NOBODY in my real life would EVER talk to me this way. But I'm going to go onto an app and open the door to let some fucking loser disturb my peace like that? And for what? I rather be single forever and ever than deal with this shit. And what does that do to your own self esteem and your own sense of self-worth to be talked to like this and accept this kind of treatment over and over again? And it's so normalised that if…

Right?? And people will say that there's no other way to meet people for dating. Like, are you a complete shut-in? The guy I'm seeing now, I met during lockdown through online games. If you're a halfway attractive woman, there's no way to *not* meet men, for better or worse. Can you tell me more about the guys you know that work on the apps? I'm curious about what kind of person is drawn to work in that industry.

That's exactly it--and in the case of ladies' nights, it's not just access to women, but access to women that are more intoxicated and more vulnerable due to cheap/free alcohol. For the apps, I reckon the women on them are also more vulnerable--they're the ones willing to put up with disrespect and possible violence from absolute strangers in the hopes of being picked.

Except we are allowing them into our spaces when we post shit like this. Now instead of reaching one user through DMs this jackass has the attention of the whole sub and more than a hundred comments on his poorly thought out screed.

Thiiiiisssss ⬆⬆⬆ I say all the time that the goal was and should be WOMEN'S LIBERATION, not equality. The idea of equality still places men as the default and women as trying to 'catch up' to the standards set by men within the structures and systems created by men. But the standards set by men are straight trash, why would I want that as a goal for myself and my sisters?

Do it, sis! It's nerve-wracking the first few times, but getting to the point where you can look at your hairy-ass legs, shrug, and put on some shorts or a short skirt bc that's what you feel like wearing? chefs kiss I've been rocking hairy legs and pits for years (including at work) and I love it, it's so liberating.

Agreed, just trying to explain where the animosity is coming from. I spend time on there watching the trainwreck and feeling thankful to be single, I just get that from their end it can't feel good to be a cautionary tale.

It's a sub for mothers who are mostly very unhappy with their lives and the men they've reproduced with. They're often held up here as a warning of what can happen if you're not careful about who you marry and have children with, which makes them defensive and causes them to treat us as their enemies.

Unfortunately it doesn't matter. As long as there's $$$ involved there are plenty of women that are happy to throw the rest of us under the bus.

This is exactly why I'm not on dating apps any more. Not only are the men trash, but these companies don't give one iota of a fuck about women's safety. They know that rapists use their sites as hunting grounds and don't do a damn thing about it. And I'm going to give them my attention? I'm going to put my profile up as bait? No fucking way

This is really such a thing. I've started listening very carefully when they tell me about the horrible things their ex said/did/thought about them. They normally frame it as an injustice done to them, that the ex didn't understand or appreciate him, but I've learned that eventually the penny will drop and you'll realise the ex was totally spot on. Crazy how these dudes have whole ass relationships fall apart, the woman has done them the favour of making sure they know why, and they still carry …

At this point, the performative wokeness is a red flag for me. Any dude that talks a big game about being an ally to women, being a feminist, puts BLM on his profile--who are you performing for, and why can't you let your actions speak for themselves? Because his actions (especially in private) are usually horrendous. But their manipulative selves definitely know how to get the 'one of the good ones' points in public. (Which, not incidentally, also makes it more difficult for the women they do m…

No, it's not common for men to have 100 sexual partners over their lifetimes. Come on, now. Don't be a hypocrite. We can talk about patriarchal and misogynist views of women's sexuality without resorting to lies and made-up statistics.

I know TwoX is the biggest example of this, but it really is all the 'women's' subs. On xxfitness, there was a post where a woman was talking about her experience of a man harassing her at the gym. Of course some fucking dude piped up to defend the guy, tell the woman she was overreacting etc, and when I jumped in and told him off, my comment got removed (his did not, despite being downvoted to oblivion) and a mod note was stickied sing that men were welcome to express their opinions. What a fuc…

This is a bit old, but since you didn't receive an answer--essentially, with a joint account, both parties have access to it. So, if one person decides they want out, they have full legal right to go into the account and empty it out before leaving. Generally, divorce courts look down on this as hiding assets, but even in that case you're still stuck with going to court to get back your own assets. Best to just keep your money separate, maybe have a joint account with a small amount in it for sh…

When I go out on dates, I always try to take a second before getting ready to check in with myself whether or not I really want to dress up, put on makeup, shave etc. A lot of the time I do, because I enjoy the process of 'prettying up' for its own sake, not necessarily just for the guy (or girl). But other times I just don't feel like it, so--I don't. And I don't think I've ever shaved for a date. My profile pics (when I had one) were mostly just me, as I am in real life, not particularly done …

I talked to a 38 year old on the phone once (im 18), the difference in maturity was staggering, its insane. It makes me think of older men who date younger women and it must be SOLELY bc they wanna fuck / they are abusive and want to control their partner bc it cant be for anything other than that. There is legit nothing to talk about that would interest a person in their 40s coming from someone my age. U cant build a healthy relationship on that. It is extremely creepy to pursue a younger girl …

You're welcome. We all need to hear this because we're constantly drowning in the opposite message, that we should be constantly striving to be as 'fuckable' as possible for as long as possible.

I was in my last relationship for 10 years and he always made sure I came first. Even though we're broken up now, I love that I had that because it's made me take it for granted that whoever I'm with should prioritise my pleasure the way I prioritise my partner's. If I'm not into it, it's not happening.

This is the issue with even interacting with this type of man. They don't change, they just become more sneaky about hiding their bullshit and being manipulative. If you know you're not down for casual, why even engage with them?

I saw that post on DO30 as well. Like WTF!? How is the onus on the woman to communicate that she doesn't want to be BITTEN DURING SEX, rather than the onus being on the man to make sure she's okay to have him INFLICTING PAIN on her? Even if you've communicated afterwards that you didn't like it, she still fucking BIT HER DURING SEX. She still had to experience that pain that he inflicted on her. And I say this as a woman that does like being bitten during sex--but I'll ask for it. And the woman …
