He left out some of what she had to say: “When we did the whole bit with Melisandre, I realized the whole scene with [the Red Woman] brings it back to everything I’ve been working for over these past six seasons—four if you think about it since [Arya] got to the House of Black and White,” Maisie said. “It all comes down to this one very moment. It’s also unexpected and that’s what this show does. So then I was like, ‘F*ck you, Jon, I get it.’”

It's super safe cliche pro-female writing. The already indoctrinated will like the episode or be too afraid to say they didn't. (Also some sunk cost people in this category.) People who say they didn't like it can be easily disregarded as "man-babies". If you don't want to watch the show but keep up with the dumpster fire the youtube channel IdeasOfIceAndFire does decent breakdowns.

With this kind of humility and self awareness i have a feeling you're going to be fine.

She made a negative statistic (the 65%) into a positive by applying some made up armchair psychology (the 85%). This is what MGTOW should be focusing on. This is a good point. This is what i was trying to get at and you put it really well. There are real issues with what she is saying but OP and some replies were focusing on nonsense like inefficiency.
/r/MGTOW16/04/19 11:24 PM
1

Are you posting each reply one sentence at a time ? I keep coming back to rewritten and longer replies it's making this a bit confusing lol
/r/MGTOW16/04/19 11:19 PM
2

The wording isn't great no, but that's a separate point. You might find it more confusing that she spreads the percentages between two figures, but i prefer to see workings. You could also argue that if she just said 55% people would question where that came from (not that she gave any source for the other %'s). Including workings is generally seen and accepted as a good thing in explaining a calculation.
/r/MGTOW16/04/19 11:17 PM
2

Unclear is subjective, so sure. You could argue that she is being inefficient also. My point is just that you need to consider your overall objective and sometimes it makes sense to forgo efficiency for clarity and as an example including your workings can help with this.
/r/MGTOW16/04/19 11:10 PM
2

Right, if she was writing a computer program or an algorithm i would 100% agree with you but she's not. This is a tweet, trying to get across an idea (a stupid idea) and clarity sometimes is more important than efficiency in cases like these.
/r/MGTOW16/04/19 10:53 PM
2

Right but the problem is including workings isn't a sure sign of inefficiency, like i said above it can be because you want to improve clarity/explanation. The substance MGTOW should be focusing on is the accidental cheating nonsense because the points about percentages not adding up and inefficiency are nit picking and really aren't the problem here.
/r/MGTOW16/04/19 10:49 PM

For some it's a power thing. They want someone in their lives they are smarter than, can boss around and use as a generic excuse for almost anything which kids generally provide.
/r/MGTOW16/04/19 10:45 PM
1

Sometimes people do this to "include their workings" which can help with explanation, so forgo efficiency for clarity (who knows if that's what she is doing). I think the "accidental" cheating is where MGTOW should be focusing and not on OP's percentages not adding up point, which honestly sounds worse than her tweet.

It's just a confused meme that gets re-posted by the anti-intellectuals. Racking up a huge amount of debt to get a useless college degree is a stupid idea whether you are a man or a woman. Going to college and getting a useful degree can be a useful and valid life choice whether you are a man or a woman. Trade school can be good, college can be good. It's really not a man vs woman thing. Women do tend to end up in a lot of useless degree courses though.

I disagree with regards the exercise and fast food. I'd rather be addicted to exercise because being healthy is objectively better. You just neglected to mention any downside of being addicted to fast food and instead just classified it as "tasty food". That's not being fair. With regards to MGTOW i fail to see how you've established it's an addiction. You also started bringing in it's effect on other people and the world around you. The entire population is never going to go MGTOW. This is just…
/r/MGTOW03/03/19 08:07 PM

I get where you're coming from, but that is more a comparison of needs versus wants. Addictions are certainly in the "wants" category and not needs, but all "wants" aren't necessarily addictions either. You can also (which i know you weren't getting into) compare relative benefits of addictions, for example i would rather be addicted to exercise than fast food. I realise it gets quite complicated and subjective when you get into comparing addictions/hobbies and living versus surviving.
/r/MGTOW03/03/19 07:49 PM

"Costly Addiction" ? Nope. It is an addiction, but it's not costly given his net worth. He could live without it if he kicked the habit. It can be hard for a lot of men to see it as it really is, an unnecessary addiction and move on from it. Certainly cheaper than the traditional arrangements.

You honestly sound very confused about your life and worldview. I'm not judging you, point out anywhere in my posts where i judged you, as in i said what you are doing is wrong in someway. It sounds like you float around changing what you say/think depending on who you are talking to, basically telling people what they want to hear. Some people on this board, for whatever reason, do take the literal meaning of the words in MGTOW without really understanding what MGTOW is about. So they see Men Going Their Own Way and assume this means literally just that, doing your own thing. If "doing your own thing" includes advocating for marriage or suggesting a man is lucky to be married, that's not MGTOW. Like i said above, if how you are currently living your life makes you happy, keep at it. Looking to an acronym for validation in …
/r/MGTOW25/02/19 03:53 PM

If you are happy with your current world view and your life and how you live it, great. You don't need to identify with MGTOW or any other acronym to be happy. But your comment history is a long way from MGTOW. Reddit compliments are free, that's beside the point. It's the state of mind and actions that matter. But like i said, who cares if you are MGTOW or not ? If you are happy doing what you do, then that's the important thing.

The whole argument of "they could if they wanted to" or "if it wasn't for discrimination of lack of positive role models" etc etc. is complete nonsense. Great people (of either gender) rise through the shit to the top because a part of what makes them great is perseverance and self motivation. If people actually think that the only thing stopping women from being great at something is lack of positive role models they have no idea what makes people great to begin with.

Exactly. If you think that you are depriving some woman of something and making her desperate by being on your own for valentines day you are delusional. That is honestly red pill rage/borderline INCEL thinking. MGTOW isn't about "depriving desperate women" of something, it's about focusing on yourself.

Including the OP. The OP is focusing on depriving women of something instead of going his own way and focusing on what he is doing i.e. not being that cuck. /r/MGTOW14/02/19 10:02 PM

It's just a drug you are born with a genetic addiction to. You don't actually need it and can learn to exist happily with out it. If you can break the habit and go clean, the world is a different place.

There are several things on your list, like working out for example which people can do because they are motivated by women. You can re-channel your energy into self improvement and do these things yourself instead. It will feel better and mean more.

And always will be, it's human nature. The problem right now isn't that we have more simps or less red pilled men. The problem is women have a vote and too much say in society. The lunatics are running the asylum.

I didn't know that. It's good to learn new words. The problem is that even if this is the real meaning, the way the word is used and understood by the majority of people becomes the real meaning. I don't agree with it, but it's the reality.

If you are still in the mindset that getting into a relationship with a woman is some kind of an achievement you are still doing it wrong, whether its at 30 or 50. Focus on yourself and your hobbies, if somewhere along the way people want to join in that's great.

The majority of large corporations human resource departments are female. This isn't new but it's the first step of a company going woke. The predominantly female HR department then starts hiring more people like them and pushing internal indoctrination (gender/sexual/racial diversity etc.) Then some key positions start being filled by women/male feminists and you have a company going woke.

This is step 1. Pyschological association classes "traditional masculinity" as harmful (see what they reference as traditional masculinity btw). The next step is classifying it as a disorder and eventually medicating it. This isn't fixable or avoidable either in my opinion. Society (western anyway) is going to fall over before enough people realise the path we are on.

The sad thing is this isn't just "some" men, this is your average man, the majority of men. Flying across the world to get access to women is going your own way now ? That sounds more like jumping through more hoops to me. If you expand going your own way to doing whatever you want it loses all meaning. Are people donating to twitch thots also going their own way, they are also doing what they want right ? I don't care either way, but MGTOW is gradually migrating towards TRP/PUA (even slightly incel) as the sub grows larger.

I'd agree with raising the bar for voting, currently being a certain age and having a pulse is too low. I don't agree with fractional returns as low as those seen in certain areas of the military or other areas (you can draw some similar comparisons with medicine). It's not rational to waste scarce resources for identity politics. There are lots of jobs women can do, wasting time and resources on jobs they aren't suited to is hard to justify.

It comes down to scarcity of resources and how best to use them. Lets say you train 100 men and 60 of them turn into viable soldiers but if you train 100 women 2 of them end up passing, that's not a good use of resources. (Making numbers up for comparison.) It's not a case that women can't (an absolute) do certain jobs, but the cost of training a large enough number of them to filter out the comparatively smaller number (vs men) who can isn't a good use of scarce resources. Having an example sho…

I'm not sure how much of this is a specific agenda being driven vs porn sites/producers reacting to viewing statistics and reacting to what people are clicking on. It could just be a self-propagating thing were its popularity is driving more of it which is making it more popular. Some people (not everyone) get desensitised by regular porn usage and need weirder and harder stuff to get aroused, leading to shit like femdom.

I get that, but if the HR department is full of people who aren't going to listen to you and will see this as "sexist" you're just shooting yourself in the foot. A lot of HR departments are not your friend. HR departments tend to be mostly women and you don't want to red flag yourself as "not a team player" or "sexist". If you know the people in HR and feel like they would listen to you then this might be ok, but generally try and stay off their radar.

Bragging to other people makes people feel better even if it isn't true. It's one reason social media is so popular. People portray the perfect version of their own lives to the world while secretly hating the fact their lives aren't as perfect as the ones they see on social media. Human brains weren't ready for social media.

My take on this is he damaged her property (kicking the car) that's not ok. She punched him in the face, that's not ok. His response was not proportional, he raged out, also not ok. The initial grab and throw her against the car was probably enough to be fair. There's a lot wrong here.

Older women/previous generations weren't somehow better, at the core. Society had systems in place which kept them from running wild. The more freedom you give them the more their true nature is exposed. It all started with giving them a right to vote.

This is a very important point regarding finite resources. A similar argument was made around female doctors by a doctor in the UK and how resources are wasted training doctors who retire early or focus predominantly on less important fields. http://archive.is/wD91h

As a man who respects women Don't need to know anymore about this person. No one, not because of gender or age or any other superficial trait should be automatically afforded respect. Respect is earned.

They can have all the opinions they want, i never said they can't have an opinion, just that in the current environment that opinion is valued more than it should be. You got the vote part right. I also don't believe every man should have a vote. The bar is currently set way too low. In general i don't believe democracy in its current form works, the average person has very little understanding or even interest in how a country or society is run.

Democrats have dug themselves a big hole here. They made an enemy of him by very publicly trying to destroy his reputation. If he gets confirmed they have a long time enemy with a lifetime position on the supreme court. If he is not confirmed they have made him a martyr of sorts for men across america, galvanising the worst parts of modern feminism and social justice. I think they (dems/feminists/sjw) lose either way on this one.
/r/MGTOW05/10/18 07:48 PM

Part of the problem (and not all of it) is some people here will see it as something which women/feminists protest for and so are automatically against it. I can sympathise (but don't agree) with this view, in that i don't like seeing them win either. I'll repost my opinion from the other thread Personally in favour of (early term) abortion. But i think the father should have a say in it, at least to the extent that if he doesn't want the baby he shouldn't be legally or financially liable for it…

This is why society needs to be arranged in such a way that the simps aren't encouraged or incentivised to white knight or promote feminism. e.g. roll back the right to vote, limit purchasing power so advertisers/producers aren't beholden to female opinion etc.

I don't get why some people here are hating incels. Isn't that basically admitting that you need women's validation as a man to have worth? This sounds a bit mixed up to me. Incels believe that you need a women's validation as a man to have worth, that's why they are angry, they still think they need women and it's some kind of achievement to get one. MGTOW don't care if you are a virgin or not. Seeing people rage that they can't get women is the issue. I think you have MGTOW and incel mixed up,…

Men are good at things, women are good at other things. For some reason in recent history people (mostly women) started to belittle and denigrate what women are good at. There is no universal truth that the old (pre-feminism) role of women in society was a bad thing or not respectable or not worthwhile. We are not equal and we each have roles we excel at. In the modern world women can't be respected (even by other women) unless they are acting like and doing what men are doing. People are happie…

Figure out and understand, honestly, why you want to have children. It's another form of brainwashing but it's ingrained much deeper into instinct. What is good for the species isn't always good for the individual, and i put the individual first.

"•They’re too emotional and walkout/ give up too easily." it requires, dedication, obsession, sacrifice and the ability to accept and learn from failure to be great at something. This is why at the very leading edge of almost any profession women are rare.

You can arrange men into a spectrum of how much bullshit they are willing to put up with for sex/companionship(lol, male friends are better). The men who don't care that much about sex or were affected the worst early on (divorce etc.) are the first to drop out of the system. But the more hoops they want us to jump through the less men are going to want to keep playing.
/r/MGTOW02/10/18 03:32 PM

This is one response to the current climate, protect yourself more and in more ridiculous and costly ways. The other response is to just stop playing the game, because the prize for winning isn't worth it. Personally don't even see it as "winning" anymore, it's a trap.

That's fair, but the physiology isn't the same in the brain. Google it, there have been some studies into the differences. It's unfortunate that due to, probably funding/political or social pressure, that more studies into these differences aren't done as it's likely some of the differences we see across race and gender are things we could adjust.

Don't agree with the first statement. There is a much wider distribution of IQ among men than women. Can women be good/reasonable mathematicians(insert other technical subject here), yes. Can they be the best, no, i don't believe biologically that they can. I no longer believe sexism or being sexist, in it's modern meaning, is a bad thing. The world is drunk on the myth of equality. I don't believe in discrimination, but raising people to believe we are all equal is setting them up to fail. Then when they look for the reason they find discrimination and oppression an easy answer. Do whatever makes you happy and work towards your own potential.

For most cases i'd agree with the "Not that a woman can't do the job" but when we start getting into super bleeding edge mathematics/physics/technology i'm not as sure this is true. In some cases the not wanting to, or not being motivated to is synonymous with can't. It's like "if i was interested in science i'd be a great scientist", being interested in it is part of the process. We aren't all equal, between or within genders etc. We all can't do everything. Intercourse is energy intensive, biologically speaking, animals wouldn't do it if there wasn't a strong biological drive and a huge hormonal treat at the end. The drive to reproduce is more complicated since it's also affected by upbringing and society making you think that's what your life inevitably should be about. Atheist, but gradually seeing the benefits of religion to a society. I don't believe in the supernatural stuff, but religion, if used correctly could be useful in keeping the masses under control. Artificial wombs will almost certainly exist at some point in the future, at which point it will be interesting to consider whether we actually need 2 genders (yes i know, 2 genders, shocking). The divisiveness created by having 2 genders may not actually be worth it at that point.

Depends on your expectations. I don't get annoyed at my cat because it can't hold an intelligent conversation, and likewise, the solution isn't more education for my cat. Society has pushed the idea of equality, but we aren't equal and don't have equal potential. This is a common pattern. If the majority don't fit the definition of something good, instead of working to meet that definition take the easy way out and try and change it instead. It's similar to the body positivity movement, instead of working on yourself and getting fit and healthy, change the definition of healthy. The bar is constantly being lowered in the interests of inclusivity.

I've seen that defense used around here and you're missing the point. Going on your own doesn't mean anything goes. For example, being a cuck, a simp, a beta is not part of MGTOW. It being harder makes sense. It comes down whether your logical/rational mind can overcome the animalistic/emotional side. Extra calories required per day while pregnant in last 2 trimesters is about 400-500 per day, which would be about 20-25 pounds. Some women use pregnancy as an excuse to gorge themselves. You see some women get pregnant, they basically look the same but with a bump, post pregnancy they are back to normal and then some women blow up and never lose it.

I've got to the point where i'm ok with this, in the sense that i don't care. They are explaining rules to a game i don't play. I don't care who's winning or losing at that game or what the rules are, have fun.

It's like heckling an NFL player by shouting "hey you're terrible at getting the ball into the basket". They don't realise we aren't playing their game anymore, so we don't care what they think.

Why ? We aren't even close to being short of people, we're pushing in on 8 billion. We didn't lose a world class scientist or engineer. If some random person commits suicide it really doesn't matter.

3 years on and you're writing poems about her ? That isn't healthy, focus on yourself and move on.

Weird definition of lucky, sounds like a lot of wasted time/money/energy enabling hypergamy.

Exactly, pump and dump enables hypergamy, where do you think they get their 100's of partners from.

Or just don't invest any time/money/energy and don't think about them at all.

Sandor Vs Brienne kind of killed off Sandor being a badass male character to enable Brienne to look badass.

It means deep down you're still a slave to them.

I think some people have invested so much time into the books/show at this point it's become part of their identity and gets really hard for them to see it for what it is now. It's like trying to red pill someone who's stuck in a traditional life, it's too much for them to consider it might all be bs.

I enjoyed S1-4, started going downhill from there for me, and S7 is where it became unwatchable from the overly feminist agenda. I'm not the same person today as i was when i watched the early seasons (much less BP), so it's entirely possible it was a combination of the show getting more feminist and me becoming less tolerant of those storylines/characters. Which probably also explains why some people on here still like it, that and sunk cost.

If you are heavy into the technical and mathematical side of things the profession isn't what it used to be, if this is from an UK/Europe perspective. There are still some pockets of heavy technical work, but for the most part this isn't what actuaries do or are good at anymore. The really good technical people are the minority and are somewhat looked down at. (e.g. very recent training video's from the official UK body which has a female actuary call a male actuary a geek because he's intereste…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
