No shit, my ex didn't know how to make scrambled eggs. Like, I'm not being picky about how I like them, he straight up didn't know how and asked. Put blue dish soap in my dishwasher. Didn't know how to do coin laundry. This list gets longer... lol. He was 28.

I think the states that have common law marriage in place did so to make inheritance in probate easier. Don't you have to prove you're common law married? I feel like, especially in situations where one of you is sick or (God forbid) dead, it would be a lot easier to just have a marriage license. If you're in it for the long haul anyhow, having that legal protection would make things a lot smoother, in my opinion. There's a reason gay people fought for it for so long. I'm only talking about the …

Yep, love that rule. It's actually the inspiration for an item on my Hard Pass List: 2. Guys with dirty toilets If I can tell your toilet is dirty, it means you don't think that taking 2 minutes once a week to clean your literal shit is worthwhile. What other harder, longer tasks do you think are also a waste of time?

These types of guys think cleaning is a big chore because they make it one. I just microwaved a breakfast burrito, and in the minute I was waiting for the microwave to ding, I wiped off my stove and a counter. It wasn't that dirty anyway, but now it's clean. If you half ass things and leave them for a week, yeah, cleaning is going to be a big chore. I think the worst thing about this guy is his piss poor attitude...

I would date someone who actually knew a martial art. I'm sure there are a lot of cool people in that community. However, most people who are into MMA have not trained a day in their lives. I'm talking about the guys who just wear tapout shirts and yell at the tv.

He is proud. They were in the wrong, so he beat them up. He won. That's what winning looks like to him, not just having the last word, but hurting someone. I don't mean to freak you out or anything... but this mindset has a tendency to show up elsewhere. You know, maybe the wallpaper in the bedroom isn't turning out how he wants, so he angrily lodges a tool into the wall. He would have won in that instance. He sure would have shown that wallpaper who was boss. Maybe you don't act the way he want…

Alright. Here goes: I don't want to date someone who gets excited over people hurting each other for money. "Oh, it's not that bad," they say. "These guys are athletes, martial arts are just that, art." Why are they in a cage, then? Why aren't they paid better? Why do they pretend to talk shit and hate each other before the fight? Which, by the way, reeks of some Wrestlemania bullshit. I wouldn't be at all surprised if atleast some of it is fake. The blood though? The eyes swollen shut? That's n…

I feel like this needs to be pinned somewhere. Everyone who shits on this sub seems to think we have unreasonable and ridiculous expectations. This was a fantastic explanation.

His shower rod is missing the rod part? I feel like there's a joke to be made here. EDIT: Just got a message mansplaining what a towel bar is, because I mistakenly said "shower rod." He included a couple jokes, though. WHAT A NICE GUY lol

I get that there is a scientific basis for liking or disliking someone's scent. I compared this line of thinking to the anti-vax thing because it's a pretty big jump to make, thinking the scent of your partner is an indicator that your child will have autism. This poster's child has autism, specifically.

Even if it's not. But seriously, is this... something you actually believe? That your body was warning you not to procreate with him by making his body smell bad to you after sex?

Oh, this is a good one. I'll share. I dated a guy on the spectrum, who also didn't tell me for a few months. He was scared I'd have the same reaction you did. In retrospect, a lot of things made more sense. But, in some ways, it made him a great partner. He knew he didn't quite see the world through the same lense other people did. He never blamed his autism for that. Instead, he sought to understand. During important conversations, he'd ask for clarification if he wasn't sure he understood. Use…

You just described a grocery store clerk. Those are basic human qualities. I'd recommend working on trying to find female friends, so no lines are blurred on your end. I wish I could help you with the therapy part, but I'm not familiar with healthcare in Italy. Keep going, though.

I am not sure what the fuck happened Here's what happened: I spent 5 months thinking he liked me as a person atleast Of the thousands of people I have met, there are very few that I do not like, just as a person. You need to figure out why you desperately needed validation from some guy you met off reddit. Why you were willing to go from "Oh! Maybe a boyfriend" to "Well... he likes me as... a person? I guess that's fine? I should keep trying." What country are you in? Let's get this therapy thin…

Girl, you need to stop. This was way too long of a post for five months of not seriously dating. Fuck, even if you had dated the dude, it was still too long of a post. So do you have the right to be salty about it? Sure. This whole thing sucked, I remember doing shit like this when I was younger. But now what? You liked him, then you didn't like him, then you went hard seeking validation, but you don't care, but you wrote this whole thing out... GIRL. STOP. You aren't even able to keep your stor…

I felt like I was doing great independent Do this instead. I'm dead serious. I checked your post history, and it's Level Up Time. I know this isn't the advice you're looking for, but forget this guy. Regardless of his intentions, or how you feel about him, whatever. Doesn't matter. You need to do some serious self work or dating is not going to go well for you, regardless of who you're with. I've been there, and it sucks. You've got all this love to give, and are desperately trying to give it to…

I'm so sorry that your dad isn't an ally here, that sucks. I'd keep sending stuff home, but stop giving away clothes and books. Start selling those instead, any bit of cash will help you. How intertwined are your finances with your boyfriend?

Him coming to you is much safer. You'll meet in a public place in a city you know, you'll have a home to go to that is safe, and friends to call if you need them. Home field advantage, basically.

I'd love to see a weekly Level Up thread. Somewhere we can all post a win for the week, a hurdle we over came, or just something we're excited about doing for ourselves. I know this is a dating strategy sub, but just a thought. Any takers?

Just "hanging out" in someone's car. Sometimes you'll go get food and then... eat it in his car. I guess guys also think this is a good time to ask for blowjobs? Fortunately, I don't know this firsthand, it's just what I've heard from girls in their late teens/early twenties.
