Be tall, blond and good-looking. Norwegian girls love that.

I pick on him for being vain, but I am too, so I can't say much. He has put on some pounds and it is hurting my sexy time :( McNulty: You know what they call a guy who pays that much attention to his clothes, don't you? Bunk: A grown-up. Words to live by.

Is there really not a lot of literature on the subject? Mystery and Style harp on this alot, The Pick-Up Artist reality show even had makeovers as their first task. Kinowear wrote a bunch of stuff on mimicing the looks of a rock star, Jeffy is all about the transformation, a lot of the boot camps (including RSD) include fashion advice, Flawless Natural mentions style makeovers in the vision of self, etc etc. I feel like we haven't been reading the same material if you haven't seen this. And it's…

Flake and blur are rarely a problem, considering the fact that I'm not looking for anything serious. There are obviously points where they'll want out because I can't give them what they need, and I respect that. I have never field-tested lingering after a #-close and I can't really see what it would accomplish. That said, a #-close is a strange situation - she's interested, but we aren't spending more time together? Doesn't come up too often in night game, and when it does in day game, the girl…

There are plenty of girls who are well aware that they are just another notch, and that I'm just a notch in theirs. I see no point in pretending that I'm looking for anything more when I'm not. Considering that I've never heard this tip before and always leave immediately following the number-close, I think it's pretty clear that the girls can be plenty interested despite the fact that I'm not interested in anything romantic.

I have never heard this, and it's not something I think I'd do. The girl knows that she's being picked up, she gave out her number to a stranger. And isn't Mystery's usual method of number-closing to say that he has to leave, but that he wants to keep in touch? How do you stay for five minutes after getting the number, without escalating to something more?

It's not about saying the right thing, but about not saying the wrong thing. I have talked myself out of so much action of the years that I've learned to just shut up, log off and meet the girl irl. Text/IM long enough and you're bound to misstep/have her misread.

Everyone needs rejections, so I recommend getting them out of the way early. Play "10 rejections" as soon as you get to the club/whereever. The goal of the game is to get 10 girls in a row to reject you (by not giving their number, not responding to a kiss, etc). I don't think anyone's ever gotten to 10.

Do what I do - hook up with a girl who's kinda kinky, meet her at a bar, be charming to both her and her friend, wait til the girl you know leaves and then make out with her friend. That's what I did last week, and it.. well, it ended with both of them leaving without me, but the move is solid.

I think that by contacting her repeatedly or always responding quickly I could come across as lacking alternatives. It's just little things like saying "I gotta go, fun talking to you but I have whatever plans" when you feel like she's interested.

Turned a facebook-close into an fclose just the other day. Initially, she wasn't interested at all. I really had to work on it, push/pulling and keeping an abundance mentality. Eventually, she asked me for my number and started texting me, and that's when I knew it was time to close.

You shouldn't be making that transition verbally, you should be making physically. You could always use the Mystery gimmick of asking "Do you wanna kiss me?", where she either says yes (and you kiss her) or she says no (and you say "Oh, I didn't say you could, it just seemed like you wanted to). Personally, I can't stand this approach. You should be crashing and burning anyway, otherwise you aren't being ambitious enough. Also, "kino escalate herp derp" is the correct answer and you seem to know…

When you think you're turning on the charm, you're actually saying to yourself that the girl is different from your little sister or your best girl friend who you've know your whole life or that old lady on the bus, and that makes you nervous. She isn't just "some girl" anymore, she's someone you're trying to pick up. You have this thought in your head about how she's qualified herself simply by being cute, and now it's your turn to win her over. All of this is making you nervous and self-consci…

I agree, but I don't think that getting a healthy, romantic relationship should be first on the list. If we're looking at a complete overhaul into a confident, attractive person, he's going to have to talk to a bunch of new girls and learn that it isn't as hard as he thinks. Those girls need to be approached as targets, not as potential friends. He wants to be attractive to women, not just the one woman he'll spend his life with.

I plan on writing more later, but I just want to add a quick thought: Kissing/dating/fucking a girl isn't being "more than friends" in the sense that you are being friends and getting physical. It's a completely different relationship that needs a completely different approach.

Very simply because I loathe working out. I do plenty of things to keep my body looking good (grooming, style, etc), but I just can't stand working out. You do make a point, though. If you find something that makes you feel good and confident, then that's a great way to build up self-esteem. That said, I try to make my confidence stem from less superficial things. I like to think that if my self-esteem is based on a solid self-worth and the feeling that I am a good, fun, interesting person, then…

Good point, there are plenty of situations where questions can be deflected or answered with questions, and as long as you're keeping it interesting and interesting, that'll work fine. If I ask a girl what she does for a living and she says "Guess." - that's fine, we're having fun and it's all good. If she were to start this long-winded "My parents are this and my cat is sooo funny and did you know my name is Hawaiian for "cool breeze off a donkey's ass"-speech, I would be bored almost instantly…

What he was saying seemed to make sense, but every example he gave was ridiculous. A vagabond has value by asking a goofy question? You should answer "Whats you name?" with a diatribe, lest you be judged as "This average looking guy probably lives a boring life"? When you introduce yourself to a woman, shake her hand, look into her eyes, smile and say "hey, my name is.. - and you are?" and keep holding her hand. Sexual tension. Thats all you need. I hope no one reads this article and starts bori…

I always test the waters with religion and politics, just so I know where this is going. Last week, I met a girl who was more than ONS-material, so I try to find out what her views on religion and politics are. She was an atheist and she didn't care much for politics, so it was all good. Things I steer away from are family and ex-boyfriends, they kill the sexual mood.

My buddy and I have our own system in regards to pickup: 1 - not worthy of an approach 2 - worthy of an approach 3 - worthy of an approach, girlfriend material It makes more sense for us because it's actually relevant to the pickup-situation, without getting into the whole "SHE'S what you call a 10?". Also, let's not forget that people who say they are picking up an HB9 don't necessarily believe her to be one - they just see everyone else talking about 8s, 9s and 10s and think that they have to …

I'm racking my brain trying to think if I've ever really met a 10. I still think my first girlfriend was a 10, but other than that I'm not sure. Doesn't seem to be one posted yet in this thread, but I'd love to see what people consider a 10.

Exactly my type, but she's always been popular. She's a model/actress, and most people who meet her seem to agree. I think this speaks to how hopeless pictures are at showing how cute a girl is, I have no doubt that most guys in this subreddit would in approaching her consider her a top tier girl.

I think the ratings on this site are fair. A girl's charm, confidence and sexuality can't be seen in pictures (at least not compared to IRL), and that is what pushes a lot of 7/8s over to 8/9s.

I'm having a hard time deciding, to be honest. There are plenty of people who can pick up girls who don't know the theory behind it, and that is what I think is important when becoming a PUA. That way, when you hit a slump, you understand why and can work your way out of it. I guess the phrasing I would like to use is "They don't know the first thing about Pick-up (c), but they seem to be able to pick-up just fine despite of this." That in itself doesn't make them a PUA, who I think is someone w…

It's interesting to see guys mention 9 and 10-girls because they think that approaching anything less is embarrassing, while the same time calling every girl on here a 6-7.

Let's make sure we use the same words - I'm not saying that they don't know the first thing about pickup, but that they aren't a good PUA. I think that term means a bit more than just someone who gets laid a alot.

There are people who get laid alot who don't know the first thing about pickup. Through some sort of pre-selection, guys can fall ass-backwards into high quality girls. I wouldn't say that these guys have everything it takes to be a good PUA, even if the lays they are getting are what PU is about. I like to think that a good PUA is a guy who can use game to his advantage, not just rely on power/money/celebrity. A good PUA should have the perseverance to go out every night, hit on 10 girls, get rejected by all of them and still go for number 11. A good PUA makes everyone feel good - his wing, his target, her friends, anyone around him. He's having a good time and putting people in a good mood. A good PUA meets his own goals, be they fcloses, good relationships or whatever. He pushes himself and his own limits, and he challenges himself. All that said, anyone calling themselves a good PUA needs to be abl…

I don't subscribe to the idea of fooling a girl into falling for you or being embarassed by my interest, I much prefer being honest about my intentions while being completely unashamed. If I tell a girl that I dig her (a word I use a lot, because all it says is "Yeah, you're not bad..." and none of that "I saw you across the room and just had to talk to you"-drama), she'll realize that I am straightforward, not afraid to put myself on the line and that this is a situation that I am totally comfo…

I can give you a quick FR from last night to give you an example of this. It's nearing midnight, I'm at a party with a bunch of people I don't know. I'm dancing, I catch a girl's eye, I straightline for her and introduce myself. I sit down next to her, put my arm around her and say "You're cute - well done." We talk for a few minutes, I escalate by the book and a few minutes later, with her arm on my thigh and my arm around her, I tell her "You can either kiss me now or kiss me later". You can g…

I agree, well said. Using class 3 as an entry point to a kiss makes perfect sense, while going through several of these motions without kissing just seems strange. If a girl is letting you do any of these things, you should be going for the kiss straight away while she's still into it. There's nothing worse than not pulling the trigger and boring her, especially if we're talking pickups under 10 minutes. If it's a date there'll usually be several chances to close, but if you're doing a straight …

My experience in Europe vs the US is that you can don't need Overt Class 3 kino (to get extremely technical) before initiating the kiss, and that as long as you have the easy kino down and the vibe is good, then the kiss will be well received. If she's comfortable being kissed on the cheek and kisses back, if you get to "my hand on her thigh (eventually all the way up her thigh) and hers on mine, holding hands", then the kiss won't be a problem at all.

Carlos Xuma's Secrets of the Alpha Man is a great read. It's all about inner game, but it talks a lot about pickup as well. Definitely a great guide to congruence. I also dig Way of Gun by Gunwitch.

Not sure what you mean by diving. There is nothing negative about laughing at yourself and others, the attitude shows that you don't take other people seriously, but at the same time know that you aren't any better than anyone else. You're also just a guy, but you know it and have fun with it.

Dig the post, good on ya and keep going. That said, I have to ask you to lose the "too expensive" part of it. It's not like that is the only line that works in that situation - if they're already smitten, you don't have to use that line. Mention something cool back at your place (the new Arcade Fire-CD, your stamp collection, etc) and get them there. "Drinks at my place" is the easy way to play. I usually hang out in places close to where I live, so it's never too far away. Music is also an easy one, find something you both like and head back home to listen to it.

Cocky/funny relies on making fun of everything, including yourself. You have to be able to laugh at yourself, or you'll come off as aggressive instead of playful and fun-loving.
/r/seduction13/08/10 08:19 PM

If people find you arrogant, I doubt the girls are avoiding you because they don't want you hitting on them. They are probably doing it because you're overdoing the cocky/funny and making people uncomfortable and insecure. Try toning it down and focusing more on making fun of yourself. If the vibe isn't there, you have to calibrate to fit the situation - you can't just "be yourself" because you've found an attitude that makes you comfortable. Especially when it's one that is tip-toeing the line …

Downloading a bunch of stuff illegally, browsing through it, catching a few "Huh, that's not bad" and being honest about how many girls I was actually approaching was enough for me. The most effective questions you have to ask yourself are "Am I approaching girls?", "Am I making my intentions clear?" and "Am I backing off even though I'm sure that they're intested?". Change those three things and you will see huge changes, and from there, it's all about details.

That was a bit aggressive. Not sure what to respond. I don't mind looking like a gay model though. But what you're saying doesn't really seem to match what I tend to see, so I guess we'll just have to disagree.

That being said, one should try to look good. There is no reason to wear a banana suit if you don't have to, and nothing boosts confidence like an awesome outfit that gets compliments and gets people noticing that you care about your appearance. Girls dig a guy with style and with their own style.

The Sartorialist is fashion photography, it's pictures of real people who catch the photographer's eye. Weird fashion is awesome, and fits well into the PU-idea of peacocking and showing yourself to be supremely confident by wearing clothing that attracts attention.

If I were trying to make an fclose an fbuddy and not a gf, I wouldn't go the nonsexual route. I'd be the guy who she fucks when she sees, every time. Thinking of you gets her horny because every time you hang out, she gets off. You are the guaranteed lay when she's out, starts feeling horny and doesn't want to end up with a random guy. Non-sexual makes no sense here.

Texting is generally a bad idea. Call, tell her that you're going to a party and that she should come, that's it. Most guys don't have a problem with saying the right thing, but with saying too many of the wrong things. You'd be amazed how many guys talk themselves out of a good situation with lines that feel needy. Less is always more and the more you leave unsaid, the more she can fill in the blanks with what she wants to hear.
