Just go to a group, take what you need and leave the rest. The big book says resentment is the #1 offender. As a member of AA, I just want to say that every group is different. God is mentioned alot, but really the who concept is to find a power greater than yourself. My higher power, is the actual 12 steps. You can make it whatever you want. Many atheists in the program, but they all know they can't do it on their own.
