All of this highlight that basically the only power a man has in a relationship is the power to leave. This is true, but...it's not as bad as it sounds. The reason it sounds so bad is because we contrast it to being "in" a relationship, in the balls-in-her-purse sense:going everywhere with her, standing outside the changing room, yada yada. And then we compare it to "leaving" as in moving out, spinning plates, etc. But you can "leave" in a much smaller manner, much earlier in the relationship. I…

You kind of can bargain for respect, though. It's in the bargaining, in fact, that you can even earn some. I work as a freelancer and one of my clients was habitually late in paying. Finally I renegotiated a new contract with stiff penalties for late payment. Since then, smooth sailing. Women are crazy, right? And I don't mean in the "haha amirite?" sense, but in a very grounded sense. They miscalculate. Some of the more dramatic stories you'll find on TRP are men who've had it and are preparing…

Government handouts hurt minority communities, not the lack of fucking marriage. I can't roll my eyes any harder. Single women with children get more goverment handouts than married couples---handouts hurt minority communities by disincentivizing marriage. Marriage is not a conspiracy of women against men.* First, because women are incapable of conspiracy on that scale, and second, because they're the most prone to leave it! Now you might say, "marriage is a shit deal." And that may be so. But t…

Everybody. Men, women, children. I could list reasons, but you read the sub, you get it. Please note: I'm not saying hypergamy is bad. I'm saying it causes a lot of problems when it and society are not correctly aligned. "Hypergamy makes women attracted to superior men." ---all well and good. But what "superior" means will differ based on the situation. What works on the savannah doesn't work in the city. What works among thieves doesn't work in a society. And vice versa. If you read Jim, one of…

good for the survival of our species Sure, in the same way that it's good that sugar tastes good. Hypergamy is as smart as evolution is, which is to say: fucking smart, and fucking retarded. In society's current state it is a major disadvantage. For a society that understood it and planned around it, both by building up men and governing women, it would be a good thing.

I know this is late, but back when "pickup" was the catchall for rp stuff, I remember seeing a post titled "The Musical Standard," wherein the author set as his premise: "I refuse to be held to any standard that Mick Jagger (or whoever) gets a free pass on. Dating young? A harem? If Mick can get away with it, who the hell are you to refuse it to me?" It's not so much something you demand of society, but more something you demand of yourself: to refuse to stop working until you hit that point.

think of women as teammates, Your post is right as far as it goes, but could stand some addition. You should think of women as bad teammates, who were never taught the rules of the game. Think of the NBA finals. When one team wins, confetti rains down from the ceiling, there's a big party on the floor, and one team carry each other and the trophy around. That's the winning team. If you were in the stadium, and knew nothing about basketball, or professional sports, you might think that the object…

The only issue I can see with this is by qualifying yourself to her father and getting his approval, the girl will instantly define you as beta. This is one of those situations where the correct answer is: to hell with what she thinks. It's no different from "The issue I see with having your kids eat vegetables is that you're now Boring Dad instead of Fun Dad." That is not the variable you want to optimize for.

This is a good post because it untangles the seemingly contradictory nature of posts you'll see here, things like: "TRP PSA: Take your time very seriously," and "The guide to IDGAF." It takes judgment to distinguish when to do which; a quick rule of thumb would be to turn on serious-face when alone, and idgaf when with others. The ideal end state is: your work in serious-mode has improved your life such that you feel comfortable cutting loose a bit when others are around.

Not the best place for it, but this might serve as an object lesson: In the last day or so I've been on a Third Eye Blind kick and an interview with Stephan Jenkins from 2015 came up on youtube. At one point the interviewer mentions that his arm is getting a bit tired holding the mike, and it chains into this hilarious apology chain that keeps on going. Meanwhile Jenkins is slightly uncomfortable but also can't help but laugh at it. If at any time if the interviewer had just amplified it would h…

Chicks have a smaller environment than you do. No, really. Your environment is: every woman you could approach. Hers is: every guy that actually does. That same psychological plasticity that leads to the "War Brides" phenomenon? Same one that convinces her you're best evar, when in fact you're just the best that approached.

Here's the secret: both of these stories happened. The neophyte mistake is to look to some other authority to determine what "really" happened. The important realization to have is that you are that authority.

Does it mean fake humility and don't make people's intrinsic jealousy rear its ugly head? While that is better the presumed alternative of lording things over people, no, I don't think it does. The humility Kipling is talking about would go something like: "I am not perfect, nor do I pretend to be---but I am enough. I don't need to show off." From a Machiavellian point of view, I don't think it's to your advantage for people to see you as humble, unless it's in addition to you being super-powerf…

I just can't seem to cope how easily i could've been fucking this super hot girl, Here is some advice. You cannot measure your progress by your success with women. There are many reasons for this: One is simple sanity. If you agree with the TRP rhetoric that most women have no idea what they want, are unreliable, etc., then you can quickly see the folly of treating them as any kind of meter. Another is sheer penis-practicality. Want to fuck hot chicks? They like to fuck guys who are sure enough …

Your desire to honor your friends is admirable and I wouldn't dream of insulting it. However, I'm on a personal crusade against the idea of "boyfriend." So let's get old-fashioned. Always remember that marriage 1.0 was a male invention. Cavewomen were not pestering Thog and Thag to put wooden rings on their fingers. Rather, Thog and Thag were buddies and said, "Alright dude, we can fight each other for the rest of our lives, or we can be buddies and agree whose is whose." Maybe when Thog got sic…

I actually have a story about Lyndsy Fonseca. I have no way to prove this, but...I am not lying. I'm about a year older than Lyndsy. She went to my middle school. I was in advanced math (...I'm here for a reason) so I had a period where I would sit in the library and work on a correspondence course. The problem isn't that you're wrong. The problem is that you won't take responsibility for your advice. Guys, I get it, you got hurt. But come the fuck on, man up and grow a pair. This is, of course, good advice, and is exactly what TRP will say. But where were you before they got hurt? And do you have a plan for helping these guys avoid a repetition of mistakes in the future? Because I can't change politics. You're miserable because (sorry) we Americans have infected you with that article of democratic faith, that You Can Change The World. Perhaps you can, but not in the way they mean. Stop believing you can change politics---really stop---and then you'll start on more productive patterns of thought, like---how to function in the society that's coming? How to help your countrymen? These are questions with more obvious and actionable answers.

One thing I have found is that many of the barriers are mental rather than practical---which isn't to say they're not real! If when you were younger girls who wore a certain style were mean to you, that could create associations that perhaps aren't necessary now, ten or twenty years later :). Drawing from the article, "going to the gym" isn't really that hard. Remaking your identity into "someone who regularly goes to the gym" is...well, it's not easy, at any rate.

If you're in high school or haven't decided on a career, I would highly advise looking into this. A friend at a maritime academy was kind of enough to give me a tour of the training ship they've been using; he has a job lined up out of school which will pay him $120K for six months of work. I'm happy where I am (software), but if I weren't, I would consider the merchant marines.

Insecurity need not necessarily be your malady, everybody compares themselves to eachother all the time, perhaps the discrepancies are more striking now that you are on self improvement's path. This is true, but I can't fool me: in my case, this time, it really was rooted in insecurity. But there is also the entirely-secure, simple...noticing...of pervasive mediocrity. Part of the reason for this: women don't trust themselves to judge male status. They use workarounds that try to judge what status other people have assigned or will assign you: is he outlandish in a way where it's unknown whether it's a good way or a bad way? Must be high-status, else how could he survive being so weird (peacocking). Do other girls like him? Do men like him? Etc. Is a man more attractive if he takes on the values of the woman he's pursuing? This is the right question to be asking, and it has a relatively complicated answer. First, if you share the valueset of women, it will just naturally up your SMV. Emphasis on sexual market value---one can live a very full, interesting, worthwhile, inspirational, badass life without taking a bazillion photos, but only value to the buyer counts, which means chick currency. So yes, some dude will get laid like tile for …

Fuck Chad. I'm me. By "dating" I don't mean what your grandfather thinks when he hears the word. I mean what your sister thinks: a relationship more sexual than friendship and less committed than marriage. But what I really meant when I originally wrote it was: she has to agree to put some skin in the game socially by publicly committing. But I'll explain my reasoning: I don't like spinning plates. It's not good for women. I'm aware someone else will likely spin them, but it's a personal thing. …

I agree with just about everything you said; What I intended with 2) was actually to be harsher than objective, though I did a bad job of communicating it. I am somewhat wary of objective stuff: Dating, courtship, “the college experience”…these are all systems that may have been put forth as helpful guidelines, but the moment the father becomes subject to them rather than the systems subject to the fathers, then they become corrals to pen in the shepherds. Contract was a poor choice of words; boundary would have been better. But I've come to a conclusion: IGAF. Specifically: any relationship---or thing like a relationship---that I have is worthy of being preserved, purely because it's mine. This is not a strong factor, and as you can see I'll end it over small things. But relying completely on chemistry-of-the-moment is as much an extreme as BB-hoping. It's a false dichotomy. The reason women say they like dinner dates is the same reason for all these shitposts: the apex fallacy. They imagine a scene best described with terms like "witty repartee," but that's only possible if she's already attracted from afar. If you've already had sex then dinner is all about logistics, like she describes in her article ("Oh, we're hungry in the middle of our conversation. Let's go eat.").

Hey-o, I actually know this one! The thing you have to remember is that women are nuts, or at least self-contradictory. They focus on the short-term. They don't just have different goals, but they think about how to achieve those goals differently. In the short term, does homeless dude's homelessness matter? Not really. Not for good, mind you, but for now, there's no possible way you could have handled any of your interactions better that would have made things go well. More should be written on this, and like RK0rton, I'm glad someone's doing it. One piece of serendipity: I was re-reading Venkatesh Rao's Gervais Principle and he made a sort of off-the-cuff reference to the idea of "social capital." Rao is of course hardly the first to use the phrase, but he's the first to use it in a context as cerebral about social interaction. Rao defines social capital as "the grand narrative of the group." Where to start. a)discipline goes to shit with soldiers trying to fuck each other, orbiters, etc. b)PR nightmare if any female personnel get captured. You think beta reporters getting their heads chopped off looks bad on YouTube? Imagine chicks getting raped. c) reduces the status of the military even lower than it already is. "If it's not perfect it's worthless." That is not what I said. I'm saying you can't polish a turd. Look, a suit will help. help. It should be in the context of other great things in your life. And to those saying "Duh," I'll make a further point---it should not be the first thing. Everyone has to start somewhere, be it money, fitness, hygiene, social skills, or dress. I do not recommend starting with dress.

I know what you mean, and if I had my druthers I'd wear only basketball shorts. But I think there are differing levels of dressup, if that makes sense. Who will people be more interested in talking to, the suitwearer presenting to millionaires, or the suitwearer just trying to look good? The latter may be interesting, but people pay money to talk to people like the former.

Now would be a good time to highlight an interesting phenomenon. Say OP needed the money to make rent this month. But since he quit, he's kicked out of his apartment. He comes and complains to TRP. We would (correctly) absolutely skewer him. "Adapt to reality, dude. Do whatever you have to do. Suck it up." And we would be right. But he didn't need the money. So good for him! A fantastic area for some TRP'ers to work on is their personal finances. While it is true that you're not your wallet or y…

There absolutely is an effect, but remember that it's the whole package that matters; a fat WoW addict in a suit should not read this and go out and buy a suit. If a dude lines up a career (so there's a reason for all this and he's not just playing dressup), a haircut, hygiene, and a career to pay for all these things, then you get the full effect.

I'll cut the retard Gordian knot here: When women say they want to be desired, they're describing what they feel when they're desired BY AN ALPHA. I never said the products were virtuous. The products are neutral. When I use the word "virtue" I mean something akin to what the Romans meant with their four cardinal virtues of temperance, courage, prudence, and justice. "Moral attributes that lead to power" is probably the best description of what I mean. While women as human beings admire the attributes, the tingles have eyes only for the result. No fucks are given as to its source.

It's weird because I always thought "nice guys" were the way to go until my whole bottom half went on strike. They are, but nice is not enough. What you're looking for is someone "wise as serpents, and harmless as doves."

Hey, you're pretty awesome for asking this. I think you're asking the right question: And, in your opinion, once a woman's lost some respect for her man, can that respect ever come back? Certainly. Women are people, and people instinctively respect the respectable. And, you know, therein lies the rub. The bad news is, you can't fix the situation yourself. You can treat someone well, but attraction is not a choice. He's the only one who can make himself more attractive. Worse, his progress would …

if I agree with the general red pill philosophy. You almost certainly do. To the extent that TRP has a "philosophy," it boils down to accepting reality as it is. Yes, the subreddit is focused on male sexual strategy, and has come to specific conclusions on that topic. But it is most interested in truth. Post a study to the extent that willowy polite Boy Scouts stimulate the female libido, and you'll face disbelief and analysis, not ridicule.

Certainly not. The hard question, then, is---should men be allowed to vote? There are two good reasons to let someone vote: 1)They'll make good decisions 2)They sacrifice a significant amount for the group, and you can't think of anyone who will make better decisions, so to be safe, let the people with the most on the line make them. #1 would presumably give you experts: economists, sociologists, hard scientists. #2 would probably limit the vote to members of the armed forces, taxpayers, and lan…

I'm neither dogging nor praising conservatism. Someone hearing my politics might very likely describe me as conservative. What is important is that you don't think of yourself as conservative, but rather truth-seeking. You can't outsource your epistemology.

Of course both are populated by humans, and so will fail to achieve their ideals. But make no mistake: TRP offers truth before it offers sex. If you want sex without screwing around with your worldview, go pay a hooker.

Think of RP as applied philosophy. It took some work to apply it, you know. So it is not "just" Nietzche's ideas. That's like saying a car is "just" metal and plastic.

By "which side you're on," I mean---to manipulate for personal gain, or not? TRP's beef with mainstream thought on attraction is that mainstream thought denies the possibility that women can be manipulated, as per the following: "Oh, that would never work on me." it works on thousands of others, and they all said that "I don't like manipulative guys" no, you don't like guys you think of as manipulative. You love guys who manipulate you to laugh, i.e. who entertain you. By definition, you like pe…

People are very malleable and easily led, but I think it's wrong to prey on that for personal gain. Ah! Then congratulations, you've taken the pill. The first clause of that sentence is the pill. The second is just which side you're on---and both exist and are welcome here.

Unfortunately, all of that is just scaffolding around the core issue, which is: marriage is based around the idea of male dominance and female submission. None of the following words appear in traditional wedding vows: cook, clean, skirt, stay-at-home. What actually appear are honor, love, and cherish, and honor, love, and obey. I can certainly understand how that phrasing could scare women in the abstract, but no one gets married in the abstract. Protip: if the concept of "honor[ing], lov[ing],…

The problem with pathologization is that it prolongs the alienation of the student. If a boy fucks around in class and gets a series of increasingly frantic "Now Johnny..."'s, is eventually sent to the principal, eventually suspended...then he is a)not in class b)never sent a clear message that this behavior is unacceptable. His life is hardly falling apart because he doesn't know the chief export of Zaire. Furthermore, since the problem is not "solved" in the mind of the teacher, it leaves the …

It is basically a way of mimicking how one would behave if having SMV higher than the women. No, no, no. Go back to seddit. This sort of deception is like makeup, something women wear. Are you a woman? Does a woman want to sleep with another woman? Long-term successful sexual strategy is predicated on becoming higher SMV, not faking it.

I take some small pleasure in answering questions like this with the most vacuous, bluepilled answer I can imagine. "Everyone has to have a phase of finding themselves, and though these guys may have used and abused you, you're now a stronger person for it, who knows more about herself. A stronger, more confident woman unafraid to stand up for herself."

I suspect what it comes down to is unpredictability, or immunity to being "slotted" in a girl's head. If you read how women describe husbands or boyfriends they've lost respect for, they talk like they know how their men would react to a certain situation. Mr. Juxtaposition doesn't read on sensors.

You'll find a bunch of practical advice; I could probably add to it, but I think doing so would take away from the most valuable thing I could say, which is: change the narrative. Dare to believe that your life could indeed be happy, and turn out well---because you'll work to make that happen.

If you really want to blow her circuits, repeat this pattern several times in one evening. The best venue for this is when seated at a long table: talk to chick -> get to high point -> talk to different person -> talk to chick. The trick is being able to start and finish a semi-interesting conversation with someone else faster than she can start an interesting one with someone else. This is easiest if you're with a bunch of people she knows (nothing new to say) but you don't (lots of new), but y…

#4 is indeed the thing to strive for, but I suspect you will find yourself bouncing back and forth between #2 and #3. This is because Christianity is simply not cost-effective in the short term. And I say that as a Christian. The path to 4) is 2). But 2) is surprisingly hard to live: how does one give when one has nothing? And it seems like acquiring something to give requires 3). So why dick around with 2) at all? Just asshole your way to 4). The problem with this is that, well, the dark side i…

This is an excellent post. Remember: TRP is about reality. We shouldn't fear it. If you have a story that seems to contradict TRP? Hell, maybe it does. Maybe we're wrong. "Sexual strategy is amoral," ~ a catchphrase of the sub. "We don't do morality here." "Whether you should cuckold guys by the dozens" is not a settled question here. But there is, despite its protestations, a moral principle the sub adheres to, and it is: Truth is better than lies. Given the choice between comforting lies and h…

While you're correct that these were not the classiest of men, society as a whole had a concept of class. A family friend used to live in the UK. As a student she went on a field trip to see a Duke's estate. The (guide? teacher? don't remember) cautioned the class, "Mind your manners. Remember that you'll be in the presence of your betters." Now, it is of course up in the air whether a particular noble is "better" than a commoner in any particular capacity. But generally, this is how one's ances…

Your intuition is correct when it tells you you'll regret it if you just cast him off. And, yeah, this sucks for you. What I think would be the wisest course of action would be to find a sustainable (ha! sorry) lifestyle for yourself, that throws off enough positive energy to throw the old man a bone every once in a while. Don't want to rock the boat by asking him to exercise with you every day? Ask him every two days (week, month, whatever). Don't cast him off, just tone down your investment so…

He's doing the same thing sluts do: he's trying to "own" those things publically. By superficially "judging" himself preemptively, he denies others the ability to do so. Were he to come here and say, "Guys...I have some serious problems. I'm overweight, socially awkward, depressed, and a virgin. Any advice?" The responses he would receive would not include "Go kill yourself you fat fuck." But he's scared that they would, so he wears his armor of "haha too late I already judged myself."

What mcdizzle said. "Jealousy will 100% bring her back" is just wrong. You can't predict the future, and so you can't let your emotional well-being depend on an uncertain future. Let it go, OP.

It's not about the morality (or immorality) of their actions. It's about your own self-control. It is possible to, all at the same time: be convinced that a person's actions are immoral be calm and unruffled exercise appropriate discipline. I know, it's a high bar. But it not a logical impossibility.

This should be higher. OP, at the end of the day: your success will come from what you are, because you have to keep it up all the time. No one can actively "project alpha" 24/7. the way to change what you are is to change your core beliefs the ones that need changing in particular are: "I NEED a woman to complete me" and "By myself, I am capable of doing nothing worthwhile." lick those, all else will follow.

This is surprisingly accurate. It doesn't necessarily mean Obama's a bad president, or that he's inconsistent (draw your own conclusions). The more interesting insight is that the actual dude Barack is not who people are talking about, but the god-king they've created in their heads. I'm sure he's a great guy: I'm also convinced he's not perfect, but that is what the voters demand, and like the Grinch, if they can't find a reindeer, they'll make one instead.
