keep in mind, i directly asked her twice before i read her diaries. she angrily denied it and tried to turn it on me

my ex wife said this to me unironically and got super angry and defensive when i brought up her countless lies and infidelity. Her biggest beef was how i found out about her lies and cheating (reading her diary). She acted like THAT was the biggest trust violation of all. 🙄

I have a bedroom full of Grateful Dead memorabilia, if that counts

I was going to move an hour away to the city of my birth for similar reasons. But my plan was to take my sons with me. Once their mother threatened to sue me if I tried to take them with me, I decided not to move because I can’t live without them. For your son’s sake, don’t flake out on him. Try to find a way to make living in that town bearable. If you move, you’ll just be another deadbeat dad who put himself first which is the worst thing you can do. Your son needs you, dude. You have to alway…

That, and women talk with all their friends about everything and men tend to be less personal in their conversations with their buddies. Plus, women get dudes hitting on them on day one and we have to really work at it and that’s only when you’re really ready to get back out there, which can take years. Ugh. I’m sorry man. Your story is a lot like mine. It took me 2 years to really feel like myself again but since I always sucked at dating it made the whole situation that much more depressing

SHE declared it was over, not you. You didn’t agree to it. She can use that logic all she wants but she really can’t claim you need to be ok with her cheating because she announced out of the blue she was done with you. You don’t need to be ok with it while still living under the same roof

Fuck it. I say do it right now. Bust those assholes for your humiliation and make them regret it forever. 🤷‍♂️

Lol. Pass. I’m too self aware to even try that. But hey, if you succeed at it, good on you, man

Unless you’re a millionaire and in fantastic shape, don’t bother trying anything with chicks half your age. That being said, oh yeah it’s normal. Suddenly you realize you can date any woman and the possibilities are so much fun to fantasize about

Well, when I married my ex wife I thought she was a loving, loyal and empathetic woman. All three of them were gone by the time we got divorced. All stemming from her not being loyal.

Better, but I was bitter AF for the first 2 years and my ex wife is still a lying, cheating bitch. I just learned to accept that

Ha! I probably should have included this tidbit but they definitely met years after we split. And yeah, I always did feel bad for him because he has no idea the kind of weird, narcissistic logic she can/will use to justify cheating or god knows what else. Don’t get me wrong, I barely know the guy and I’m SO glad she’s his problem now. Lol

It took me 3 years to feel like I was as over it as I’m going to be. Although my ex wife cheated and that’s what made the divorce so hard on me

Yeah...my ex wife said the same. Said she never really loved me in her diary when she was in the middle of cheating on me (the ultimate insult to injury). But, I have figured out in the meantime that she was doing mental gymnastics to justify her lies and affairs. (If she never loved me, it’s ok to have affairs with random men, because she needs to be her true self...or some such bullshit). It’s really just a way for the perpetrator to make it seem like there was a reason for their betrayal

Wow. That was my ex wife’s and mine story to a T. I was going to remain loyal till the day I died, even though she made me miserable, she cheats and tortures me, i pathetically do the “pick me” routine, she agrees to try to reconcile all while basically placing all of the blame on me, cheats again, still claims it was all my fault, now she’s gone and I realized how much better off my sanity is without having to walk on egg shells 24/7 and to make myself sick worrying who she’s texting all the ti…

That’s bullshit. Marriage counseling can work WONDERS if you do it right. By which I mean, don’t start until the marriage is already over. My best friends parents have been together for almost 50 years, but they are still lovey dovey (spooning in the couch, holding hands, making each other laugh, flirting shamelessly) and they have been seeing a marriage counselor once a month for over 30 years. Their marriage was never trouble. Not for a second. But, they wanted to make sure they were always in…

Same. Plus "surviving infidelity" I talked about my ex wife's affairs and how it blew up our family and I got a lot of skepticism that it was she who had the affair and I must be exaggerating. "Dating over 30" was the worst. "Dating over 40" was a close second Edit: "surviving infidelity" is a page where no one questioned who was cheating. It's a great place to talk to other chumps who were treated like disposable trash by their spouse

2 freakin' weeks!? Oh man... Dude, she sounds like a psycho. That's domestic abuse...I don't care what anyone else says. That's psychological torture. Ah yeah, the old "look what you made me do" tactic. My ex tried to tell me it was my fault she had an affair. ("If our marriage was stronger, he wouldn't have been able to come between us"). I also stopped giving in once I was able to prove she was cheating and just told her she could go fuck herself. She always picked fights so that part was bare…

Ugh...I feel for ya man. I my ex wife could be like that too. Would explode with anger over something that wasn't even my fault and then act like I was the jerk and not speak to me for the rest of the day. But to not speak for days!? Oh man....I get you love her and it feels like you're getting tossed aside. Believe me, I went through this too. It took me years to figure out how much happier I was not having to walk on eggshells every day, not having to beg to see my friends once or twice a year…

"I'm done changing"!? Wow. Just wow. In other words, she didn't learn a damn thing from this other than "it's all your fault". Sigh...I hope you find some kind of peace, man. This kind of thing isn't easy to get over. It took me over 2 years to feel fully over her and ready to move on. I sincerely hope you recover quickly and find a much better woman.

She seriously said it's all on you? That you're the one that needs to change but she doesn't have too!? Ugh. Sounds a lot like my ex wife. She took no responsibility for all her bullshit. I am also a forgetful slob and she used that as an excuse to cheat and refuse sex. I also at first blamed myself but have since come to realize how effed up she is and how she really thought I was the one who needed to do all the changing. Let HER move out if she's the one who wants a divorce, won't take any re…

My ex wife used to lock the door when she slept in a separate room right before she moved out because she was convinced I would assault her. To me, it was sad that A) she didn't know me at all after over a decade as a couple B) she was so desperate to justify her lies, gaslighting, manipulation and affairs she actually convinced herself I would do this. Making me the monster, and thus, she can't be blamed for any of it Dude, trust me. I've been there too. I'm not going to lie and say my life is …

Ugh. Me too. My ex wife was the same way. I was affectionate, always telling her I loved her, thought we loved one another despite our flaws. Turns out she was a lying, cheating narcissist. I am still healing from her bullshit. I too didn't want to start dating again at 43 as a single dad.

YES!! I'm going through a very similar thing with my ex. I also bought my house a year before we met (although she could take my house over my dead body) and she tried to sue for alimony but thanks to an old law in the state of Pennsylvania you automatically forfeit your right to alimony if you commit adultery. She then tried to sue for support which she can't get because both of our salaries are around the same. Finally she tried to get primary custody of our sons (5 and 8) to ensure support. I…

I totally get it. That's how I felt when she had her affair. I just wanted her to see I loved her and we belonged together. But after she went and pulled the exact same bullshit as soon as I let my guard down when we were supposed to be moving towards a reconciliation using the same incidents from years ago (all seem pretty minor and borderline petty at times) to was originally used to justify her affair, then recycled to justify her doing it again. She epitomizes sexiness to me, but that's not …

I hear you man. A broken heart takes time. My wife left me over a year ago after she had at least one affair and attempted to have at least 2 more. For me, the pain is still there but it's slowly lessened over time. Morning is always the worst. Waking up and remembering what is happening. That was always the worst for me.

I agree with ending the bullshit stigma of living with your folks. I just wonder if she would turn her nose up at a man doing the same thing? All I know is when I was in my 20s living with your folks was a death sentence for getting ba date.

Wow...so similar to me. My wife also had a shit load of issues but I ignored them because when you love someone you work on your marriage, you don't just throw it away. She also refused to look past mine adn suddenly started acting like a totally different person. Lying and cheating on me to my face. It was heartbreaking

Oh man ...dude I feel you. I went through the exact same thing. My wife of 8 years one day said she was not happy, and hadn't been for a long time and I had no idea. I too made a lot of mistakes, like took her for granted and is addicted to my phone. We did go to marriage counseling but her mind was made up. Turns out she was also cheating which of course hurt the most. I also thought about doing a cannon ball into I95 when I first found out she was having an affair. Good luck to you, man. I sti…
