'drinks' can mean getting a coffee or tea. Those don't make one fat. Being a foodie using men for lots of free meals could def make one fat tho.

Divorce is a great financial windfall for women. Especially if they are married to an ultra-high-net-worth person like Tom Brady or Bill Gates. They can be rid of the troublesome man and become a billionnaire at the same time. What a deal!

I (RP-M) agree with OP. If a girl was “easy” I didn’t judge her. I would respectfully and caringly help her get her needs met. But if I saw the girl had relationship potential I would take things slower.

47% divorce in first time marriage. Similar numbers in China, since you’re obsessed with it. A further 20-25% are estimated to stay together just for the kids. Speaking from experience and my circle, the actual numbers are likely much higher.

Oh I care. A lot. I want a woman who is intelligent and hard working and has stuff going on in her life. We are a team and if she is winning in her career then the team is winning.

I second this. My girls been with me for almost 20 years since we were both in our 20s. I was 27 and working in high finance and she was 21 just starting her career as a receptionist when we met. We have supported each other for a very long time. I don’t plan to ditch her now that she’s aged, and I would be pretty pissed off if she left me now that I’ve provided lifestyle for her and helped her advance her career. I put her through college and two graduate degrees. I helped her with a lot of her…

Wife is definitely a bitch to everyone. Just in different ways. 100%.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/12/24 10:42 PM

Wish I had. I kept stubbornly trying to make it work.
/r/PurplePillDebate07/12/24 10:09 PM

In my own case providing for my wife was forced on me. We discussed it before marriage of course. But she got too comfortable once we got married. She went on a legitimate medical leave after we got married but then proceeded to let me be the sole provider for 17 years. We talked about it. We fought about it. I threatened divorce over it. But ultimately one cannot make a spouse work if they aren’t willing. FML

One thing I don’t get is why you gave up spending time with your biological family. You could’ve just uninvited the wife. She can’t disrespect you in front of others and expect to be brought into the inner circle of your life and participate.

I love lifting heavy. But I've f'ed myself up twice recently - both on back squats. Tore what I believe is the r. abdominis on the way up in the squat. That took me out for weeks. What do you advise? Using machines on super heavy lifts to failure?

Invest where you have an edge. And invest in dependable things. Your personal life should be interesting, your investments should be boring. For me, I have an edge in real estate, and so I invest there. I also keep plowing money into ETFs for liquid capital reserves - VOO and VGT specifically.

That's aweosme. Good job getting that role, and I respect the hustle. You're on your way to getting rich. M&A is a great training ground. Your greatest payment is the learning and brand rather than salary. As I don't need to tell you, play the long-game. I think I get what you're saying. You're really saying "one rarely gets rich off salary". I agree broadly. Salary is the booby-prize, the distraction. To be fair, in many of the fields you wrote out (including IBD and PE) salary can still be sig…
/r/TheRedPill16/04/24 06:37 PM
2

Great. Me too (in PE). I would like to hear more. I'm guessing you work in IBD (possibly ECM?) and are at the analyst /associate level. Keen to hear your perspective. Why is owning a business the only way to get rich? What has led you to that conclusion? Haven't you seen yourself plenty of other people get rich in other ways?
/r/TheRedPill16/04/24 11:59 AM
4

So maybe this is a learning opportunity. I am not intersted in convincing you I'm right. You wrote you're in finance, that your MDs are handcuffed to the job, etc. So now we've establisehd we're both in finance. Which part of finance are you in, what level, etc? Maybe share more about your perspective. My lived experinece is far different, but before we delve into that, explain to me more about your backgrouind and perspective. Maybe I'll learn something.
/r/TheRedPill16/04/24 11:47 AM
3

LOL. Why? Do you have anything intersting to add to the discussion? You've made your fortune and want to tell us how to do it? I think this is a very red-pilled dscussion. We're all clinically saying that as men we need to bring in wealth (whatever your reason for it is), and now we're chopping it up and disucssing how to do it (or how we did it) . This is probably the most red-pill thread I've seen this month., if you scratch below the surface
/r/TheRedPill16/04/24 11:44 AM
3

Incorrect. Just so wrong. But you may want to reflect on the fact that your only conception of investment is a mere $5k per month. I can concretely tell you that careers in finance can absolutely get you there. Carried interest in private equity can get you there. Investment in real estate can get you there. Now Perhaps you are unaware of how carried interest in private equity works, or how much you can get in bonus at an investment banks.
/r/TheRedPill16/04/24 10:28 AM

"While it is true that owning a business is the ONLY way to get rich," I disagree. Business ownership is a valid way of getiing rich, but not the only way. I would argue that investment is also a good way to get rich, as are high-earning salaried roles (some of which you described above) which provide a capital base which you can then invest.

Sex is pretty important part of most LTRs. you value sex. She does not. You crave it. She does not. studies have shown that female interest in sex declines over LTR‘s. It’s part of evolutionary psychology behaviour, more frantic mating at the beginning of a relationship in order to secure the mate and then less frequently over time , if you’re starting from a weak position now you shouldn’t expect it to get stronger over time but in fact weaken it may be best for you to cut your losses and walk …

What do you care about consensus on a rando Reddit site? Your life, you decide. That said, I think you're making a mistake here. It's 2-3 nights with a family member as guest. Not a big deal. Pick your battles.
/r/MarriedRedPill19/11/23 02:28 AM

I don't see what the big deal is. First, it's just 2-3 nights. The cousin is family. You have a 4 floor townhouse. It sounds reasonably sized and can accomodate 4 people. Yes your needs and wants need to be fully respected, but not every matter is "my way or the highway." Do you want to be right, or do you want to be married? Pick your battles, and get something out of this.

I believe there is an ingrained evolution psychology desire for women to smooth over a breakup so that the male does not bash their brains in. Cave Stacy has got to keep Cave Ken from getting violent. So when they break up they want to hug it out, be friends, say it was them not you, etc. this is because you, the male, are a tangible threat and they want to keep things civilized (ie non physical, non violent ). Mate, I say this with kindness. She’s not the problem. You are. You have no confidence, few friends, and a whole host of other issues. In my experience there are certainly many light switch and fair weather friends. That’s the majority of people. The relationship is built on an exchange of value - emotional, social, material. But then there are a handful of long-standing friends. Those are not dependent on an exchange but on somethings much deeper. Those are friendships that shine brightest when things are most inconvenient, when you are a burden to one or the other. I can count those friendships on one hand but they do exist a…

There’s of course the option of having housemates but not roommates. I would advise you do that. Living with others your age will be a fun experience and improve your social skills. And you can go out with the boys and practice game. And there’s zero problem bringing a girl back to your room if you don’t share the same room even if you do share the overall apartment

I appreciated this read, though in my case I barely got to know my father. I certainly admired him. He was a military leader, an officer, a member of government, an international diplomat, and then a businessman. But disease took him from us far too early. seems like OP's best bet is to accept hairlessness and sport TheRock look. That means maximizing phyisque. But which lifting plan to follow? There's so many variants. What have you guys seen as helpful resources? I get confused as there's so many lifting theoreticians - like the 'slow lift' Mike Mentzer (high intensity, 1-2x gym per week), or push-pull low volume, etc. Seems so many contradicting plans.

I use 20kg (45lb) for single arm exercises and 32 kg (70lb) kettlebells for two handed exercises like kb swings, high pulls, deadlifts. But yes even the 32 kg one is getting light and the trouble with kettlebells is you can’t add weight. I started using the 32 kg one for single handed exercises recently instead. Not saying it’s better than a gym but it’s far faster and more frequent so it’s good for a busy person
/r/askMRP09/02/23 11:59 PM

Devils advocate: if one kettle kettlebells at home one can get cardio lifting sessions done on a daily basis without having to do complicated gym planning or even making a trip out to the gym. That increases frequency of workouts and saves time because it’s readily available home equipment. Thoughts?

I’ll second what SnooPets said about not being ruled by emotions. Work on detaching yourself and get grounded with what is in your rational self-interest. Emotions have no place in decision making. These will lead you astray 100% of the time. Seems all of your post was about the girl and what she wants. That’s all wrong. That’s being a doormat. I generally try to find common ground and then use that as a pretext for a further meeting. Such as “so cool to know someone else who likes S&M. Why don’t we exchange numbers so we can go spanking together sometime.” Or some other activity. Whatever.

perhaps I can address this in the words of a timeless song: "It was the heat of the moment, telling me what your heart meant." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHuXvj4WIoU

aren't there significant ramifications if he's caught cheating in a marriage? If he's caught cheating and she divorces him she'll take the financial resources and probably his kids. I mean I hate to think this way, because I agree with your premise, but in reality every wife has a gun loaded and pointed to their husband's temple. Divorce rapes men like there's no tomorrow.

If she has asked you for help a handful of times but then you “nerdgasm” all over her and things don’t stick then isn’t this indicative of your failure as a coach, given you have a willing student? Fitness for a beginner should be approachable and low stress. Work within her abilities and embrace her interest. don’t intimidate the poor gal.

Very helpful. Still studying, reading and STFUing. Is there a career-oriented sub-reddit? Either as part of MRP or just RP. I want to make sure I fully read up first.

such an Insta would portray your intentions accurately - and that's a very good thing. It's always better to be upfront with your intentions. You'll filter out the relationship-seeking girls, and will attract the ones who want the same thing you do. Better to not waste anyone's time, including your own.

I'll take a different tack than the others here. If you enjoy spending time with her, and you're down to just do that and not be intimate, then I think the occasional visit just to have fund time is ok. But I wouldn't get hung up on her, and I definitely wouldn't be spending much time or money on her. Withdraw your attention and make her the occasional drop-in friend. No more. Date other girls, and make this one a back burner. She may have problems around sex and intimacy, and these are not your…

withdraw your attention. She seems like someone who is flakey, probably disinterested, and someone you're not really attracted to. Send her your number and say "when you're ready to get together, call me." Put the ball in her court and stop wasting your time or mindspace. Make her work for it for a change.

yeah this. Why are you trying to make things confusing? In fact, the most important thing is that she knows it's a date. Perhaps say "Hey, would you like to get coffee/dinner sometime?"
