I had a therapist suggest to me to use positive reinforcement techniques on my partner and literally laughed at her and said I’m sorry but no I have dogs already I don’t want another pet.

Only to a certain degree. They can know vaguely that I’m working through things. But I’ll never let anyone push past that boundary again because they just tend to use it against you in one way or another.

I mean if all you’re looking for is something to hug and listen to you, you could just get a dog instead? Less work, more reward.

This is so sweet 🥲 my POS exes wouldn’t even treat our dogs (now my dogs) with a sliver of this compassion

If the men that claim to want to be house husbands would actually like maybe lift a finger and not just sit around watching porn and playing video games all day, I might be down, ya know? But they’re not. This guy though, what a gem.

Did that to a guy that was really in my face with his ignorant opinions and he literally ran to cry in another room 👏

So much this! They masquerade it as generosity but it’s all about wrapping you around their pinky and creating dependency!

Same here 😅 I work almost exclusively with men and I’ve learned that they’re not my friends even when they pretend to be. Shit talking, trying to throw me under the bus unless they think they can date me. Then they’re all super chummy until I turn them down over and over... lol I give up

If there were a dating app where the men had to pass exhaustive in depth background checks just to get on and make a profile (I’m talking like super high above top secret clearance where they dig up old shit that makes you squirm and shake skeletons out of your closet), I’d honestly pay for it.

So you know how men always say to check out a girls mom if you really want to know if they’re long term wifey material? Check out that dickheads father and prepare to be disappointed

You have to shop around. My therapist right now is like my 6th in 5 years. Unfortunately there are a lot of pickme type female therapists out there that hold gender stereotypes to some outdated golden standard and really just love to be subservient to men (the caretaker types, ya know). The one I’m seeing now shakes me up on a regular basis by saying things like “well there’s your answer, that shows you exactly where you lie on his hierarchy of priorities” and “this might be all there is to him,…

Yeah I’m beginning to wonder about this with the person I’ve been dating on and off for a couple of months. At first I welcomed the lack of communication cause my most recent exes have been overbearing and controlling and it made me want to throw my phone out the window. But now I’m kind of starting to notice a pattern. During the immediate build up of when we get together he’s very chatty, when we spend time together he’s very attentive but as soon as it’s over I sometimes won’t hear from him f…

How about we do what some bars and clubs do and only let trusted men in to more places if they’re invited by female members. Make them earn their right to exist in OUR spaces.

Is this a joke? Appearance has nothing to do with it It’s about power. Men will sexually assault animals, children, inanimate objects...
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/03/21 01:51 PM

No joke one of my alma matters was forced to put glass panels in the doors on profs offices because the complaints about male profs coercing students into inappropriate sexual relationships got so out of hand. What did the profs do in response? Covered the panels in whatever they could find 🤦🏻‍♀️

Vice has always been trash. It was founded by the founder of the proud boys. And there was a scandal where their high level staff were involved in international drug trafficking. Fuck vice, idgaf what they have to say about shit.

So what, they’re just animals without the capacity for higher level thought and can’t keep their urges to themselves? Cause even my dog has learned to not hump other dogs at the dog park. Only had to tell him twice. How long have we been trying to get through to men?

I was on a blind double date with a friend years ago and she pulled me to the washroom and was like “they want us to split the bill, let’s bail”. So we did lol 😂 Edit: lmao scrotes be mad at this

The older I get the more that I’m finding that I get more joy out of intellectual and athletic pursuit, my dogs and building my own little living space without having to take a lazy male into consideration. I’m starting to just not see the point in dating men with the goal being settling down/marriage. If I want kids later on in life and happen to be single, I’ll just adopt or get a sperm donor 🤷🏻‍♀️ that’s just one less child to clean up after lol

Omg this sounds like my nex. He said he had worked as a “Human Resources manager” when in reality he was a shift supervisor at a call centre 🤨

Ugh sometimes I wish you could downvote scrotes dating profiles out of existence. Show them just how gross and unwanted they really are.

Honestly they’re so gross physically and/or personality-wise, I can’t even be bothered. I’d rather be alone forever than sit here swiping until my thumb falls off.

Omg I found out the same thing about my ex when I went to his family’s place for Xmas the first year we met. This was like a trip halfway across the country so I, being the dumbass that I was, saw it as a big deal. Nope! He would just rotate through girls bringing them home to meet the parents after like no time at all. It made sense as to why they seemed sort of standoffish. They probably were like “well here we go again, wonder how long this one will last”

Seriously there should be. It’s always after the fact that I discover there was a woman or usually multiple women that went through the same bullshit. I wish I had been warned and could warn others!

Yup no thank you! Some guy told me the first time we met that he was “very promiscuous” and proceeded to tell me about his experiences at sex clubs, swingers groups and resorts. Blocked!

Ok so this is just my opinion but I’ve noticed this is a thing more so with younger under 40 guys... It’s just cause the housing market here is really prohibitively expensive and a lot of young men likely won’t ever own a home at this point if they don’t already or don’t have a substantial inheritance/family gift in sight. Travel on the other hand, is within reach.

Girl looks like this and spends any money on a dude? Nah hahaha no.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/01/21 02:50 PM

Just... be mindful of whether or not he respects these women or just fetishizes them. That is what my ex would do. He had a creepy sexual thing for women in male dominated careers. As in, jerked off to female fighter pilots, snipers, cops etc. I never understood.

No they 100% will not do any of those things. My ex husband was receiving his full salary being home without work to do for 4 months during the pandemic while I was still working and he literally played video games and hopped back on the porn addiction train. In future, if I want help around the house, I will hire a housekeeper. If I don’t want to cook, I’ll order in. None of this grown ass man child whining and taking up space in my house.

Oh my god this sounds like it could’ve been written by my nex. He used to make derogatory comments about guys he’d encounter in the change room at the gym, snark about what “short men with average jobs” and how he couldn’t understand how so many people other than him with (according to him) inferior looks and personalities were in happy stable relationships. Hmm couldn’t have anything to do with the fact that you treat people like commodities... no, it’s everyone else 🙄
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy20/12/20 05:12 PM

Hmm I dunno they’d need a pretty good excuse in my book. For example, the last time I got a family member a GC for anything it was for my sisters birthday a few years ago... Sephora with a makeup appt because I was living/working on the other side of the country and wanted to get her something personalized yet the time zone difference made figuring that out tricky. I learned quickly with my NEX that gas station visa gift cards were the usual in his family, so I was disappointed but not surprised…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy13/12/20 06:20 PM

And when you ask them if perhaps they could be a little more thoughtful, all they can think to say is “I don’t know what that means, I got you a gift card” 🤦🏻‍♀️
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy12/12/20 11:06 PM

Well perhaps even their therapist (likely female), who’s getting paid to listen to them whine, maybe even she has fucking heard enough of their bullshit 🤷🏻‍♀️

I agree, this is straight up some fucking rigged carnie game. I’m just gonna go ahead and take my stuffed animal and leave, haha. And by stuffed animal I mean dogs. Better company than dickhead men 🙂

Lmao this is sad to say but an ex of mine honestly thought his vehicle was an “asset”... I shook my head and was like no no, a car loan is a debt AKA a liability 🤦🏻‍♀️ financial illiteracy is a thing with a lot of lvm

Man I wish this was a thing so badly. Would’ve saved myself so much time. Had I known about the criminal records, financial troubles, employment problems and all the fucking lies my piece of shit exes told... one failed a work background check and then paid borrowed money to pay some credit repair company to try and “fix it”. I didn’t find this out until I dumped his ass a year later. Whoever starts this service can just take my fucking money cause like I don’t even feel comfortable dating or wa…

Side effect of all the gaslighting, triangulation and having to walk on eggshells, imho.

Never ever ever. Been there, done that. First ex convinced me to leave a phd at a top uni, and then tried to further stifle my new career. Latest one also tried to stifle my career development, discourage me from pursuing promotions and career changes that would, according to him, make me the breadwinner and make him look bad.

You go girl. No more “walks” or “coffee” or “grab a drink” dates. Fuck that shit.

Yup and they have no questions about you, your life, goals, etc. They just want to hear themselves speak and for you to reaffirm their own delusions.

If I decide I want kids this is the family I want haha. A former coworker of mine told me his wife made him and their kid move in with her sister and her kid and wife’s mother. He was literally having a meltdown about it and how he’d be relegated to the basement and I was chuckling about how that sounds like a great idea for raising the kids and taking care of grandma. Men are so selfish. All he could say was “but I need muh own space, too many women”.

Yup, also military and do a lot of this myself. Unlike some of my colleagues I have zero interest in playing work mom nor do I want to deal with advances at work and risk any compromise to my professionalism.

Oh my god mine told me something similar about his most recent ex. Said that she said not to contact him ever again or she’d call the police. And he called her crazy and my dumb ass didn’t see that huge red flag waving in the wind! Apparently he had been harassing her via text and when that didn’t work he moved to email. The lunacy.

Similarly all the fucking Joe Rogan fanboys do the same. As if mr fear factor is some sort of model male.

Seriously - if someone you’re seeing tells you that the last contact they had with their most recent ex was one in which they were told to “stop contacting me or I’m calling the police” and they try to convince you that their ex was the unstable and crazy one, chances are 100% that they’re projecting, lying and you should block, delete, ghost and honestly just run if you need to. This was my fucking psycho ex husband and I can’t believe I was so mind fucked into trusting him. Then I found the em…

Can this please become reality? With all the sophisticated AI face and body metric algorithms in existence it should be plausible. If I could take the pieces of NVM that passed around my nudes at work to civil court, I’d pursue it and wouldn’t even waste my time on the broken criminal justice system. The threat of financial ruin for trying to ruin our reputations and careers would hopefully be enough to deter this kind of behaviour.

I don’t think it’s paranoid or anything given the statistics and physical strength differential. As a woman who’s had her fair share of violent experiences with men I’m starting consider taking up firearms training again, self defence classes and I’d love to get a handle on how to better handle my own online security (been doxxed, hacked, revenge porn’d). I don’t think there’s anything wrong with wanting to protect yourself. They fucking do all of those things to protect themselves against each …

Yesss! Stand your ground and don’t play their stupid games. 100% of the time they will show their true colours and make it quite apparent that they have no sense of self control and will lash out in a cycle of accusations, name calling, usually followed by grovelling and false apologies when you continue to grey rock and don’t engage emotionally. Eventually it just becomes entertaining and pathetic to watch them fly off the handle.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/10/20 02:29 PM

Hahaha this is amazing. In hindsight, I’m so glad my ex was such a non-committal child that we never got rings tattooed on. I kinda want this as a deterrent in the future incase I have another momentarily lapse in judgement 😂
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/10/20 01:55 AM

Agree with all of that, and also if there’s no mutual support; you have the right to have your needs met just as much as he does. You are nobodies crutch or mommy replacement.

Hopefully she comes to her senses and kicks his useless ass out, yikes. I think a lot of women are realizing just how toxic their partners are or can be right now. My stbxh’s true character was revealed during the first lockdown of the pandemic (porn and sleeping pill addictions, poor finances, mental health issues that he tried to hide/downplay/make excuses for).

Oh the treasure trove I dug up when he went off the deep end, finally left my house for good and left his gmail and Reddit accounts logged in on my personal computer. Yeah, no. If they tell you they went out of their way to try and wipe themselves off the internet and they have 100 excuses for not having any online presence yet have a bunch of burner emails, it’s likely cause they’ve got something to bury.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 09:17 PM
25

YES. You don’t owe them “closure” no matter how much they cry and whine and blow up your phone and tell you how “hurt” they are. It’s usually just a trap to get you to feel bad and continue the communication even if you don’t want to. Ghosting is a completely valid strategy, especially with people that can’t fucking take “no” for an answer.
