Thank you I needed to hear this. Currently dipped my toes back in online dating and well let’s just say it’s as terrible as I remember. Just had to block a guy for guilt tripping me & calling me a flake & bitch etc bc I set boundaries & ‘flaked’ on a few ‘dates’ with him. We had vague plans to meet, but he never confirmed a venue or time so IMHO they were not firm plans & absolutely not a proper date. Then today I said I wasn’t feeling well, but I was out for a walk which I told him casually bc …

Or the try to explain it because they you just didn’t get it with your little feeble woman mind. Nah, I got it, its just not funny.

It’s like the way they Say they like you being ‘ feisty’ until they realise you won’t put up with their shit and will call them out on it then suddenly you’re a bitch.

We’re gaslight so much. First that there are any decent men on these apps and then when we see the men on them we’re gaslight again into ‘giving them a chance’ and the hope that maybe just maybe if we keep swiping there will be a decent man. There never is.

It’s nothing but pure, predatory capitalist greed using misogyny to sell you pointless, possibly dangerous, shit you don’t need injected into your face. Are men ever told that they’re so disgusting as they are that they need to inject toxins into their faces or slice up their bodies so they can still be desirable? Nah they get to be ‘silver foxes’ and ‘age like fine wine’ or have a ‘dad bod’. There is nothing wrong with women’s natural faces, bodies or hair, whatever age we are. We’re sold so mu…

I honestly think some men think women have no lives and just hang round all day doing nothing waiting for men to ask us out on last minuite shitty walk dates. Erm no we have lives and hobbies so if you can’t confirm a date in a reasonable time frame, I will make other plans!

I did similar today. The last vestige of OLD, he let me down for one date, promised he’d make it up to me today, but yesterday he didn’t message at all after being drunk fri night and trying to sext me up, so I asked if we actually had plans bc I’d like to know so I can plan my day, he got arsey at this. I said enough, it’s obvious you’re not seriously interested in dating me, he says that was ‘unfair’. So I blocked before I give in and give him another chance. I’m still trying to let go of the …

For me it’s 100% yeh attitude. You’re short, whatever, just get over it no one actually cares that much apart from you. That’s the crux really I think, no one actually really cares is Bob is 5’6” and not 5’8” as he claims, but Bob is a MAN so of course he assumes everyone must care in minuite detail about his weird height fixation and he will go on and on about it ceaselessly. He’s convinced women won’t date him because he’s short, some don’t find it attractive yes that’s true. But others don’t …

This. We’re told we’re irrational and overly emotional and we can’t be trusted because of this. I’ve never seen hordes of women destroy cities or beat people up because of well anything, but certainly not a stupid game. But no we might cry at sad movies sometimes so we’re totally unstable!

I feel the same. Reading all the comments this seems to be common. I guess it’s just hard as we’re sold the idea that happiness is a relationship ‘happily ever after’ from when we’re kids and even if we know this is Disney rubbish it’s still hard to let go of it sometimes.

It’s all so fake and do any women ever fall for it? Or there’s the other side where a guy can have a fancy car but he’s got in debt for it or spends too much on it to be sensible, which is also incredibly unattractive.

I hated the ‘poor Jen’ narrative. She’s loaded, she has a successful career, she looks amazing, she’s funny and talented yet because she hadn’t got kids and Brad had a ton of kids with Angelina (who has since divorced him for being a shit) she should be miserable and her life is a failure?!? Also have you seen Brad these days?

An Uber driver once asked me if I wanted to go for a walk there and then, it was like 2am deserts . I had a full on ‘ok this is how I’m gonna die’ moment, thankfully he eventually took no for an answer & I reported him & afaik Uber took action but it was scary AF.

Agreed 100% but I actually just got asked out on a proper date, on bumble & I’m still processing the shock, it has literally never happened before. I mean process that - this is how bad it is, I’m amazed bc a guy on a DATING app has done the bare minimum and asked me on a proper date. That is how bad things are.

Women do not naturally ‘just remember’ this stuff we make an EFFORT to be organised, whether it’s my mums old school calendar she’d write every birthday anniversary for the year (she had like an annual ritual of doing the new calendar) or setting reminders on your phone. It’s basic AF. Yet men have been keeping notes of meetings for work, or when their sports team plays etc etc for ever, so they’re perfectly capable they just don’t because they don’t care and assume women will pick up the slack.

IME its nerd men (and nerd culture) in general, maybe its bc all the dice RPG men I’ve met have also been anime & gamer nerds I find it hard to separate them into specifically dice nerds etc. I absolutely see your point and agree but ime there’s so much overlap between nerd circles it’s not just an RPG thing, it’s a nerd men in general thing. The whole culture is toxic and dangerous for women. It’s so pornified & either full on peak lib fem bullshit, or reactionary red pill kinda crap.

Similar happened to me in a coffee shop, guy serving asked a woman in front of me wanted a free cinnamon thing she didn’t and he got abreast every asking her why, she was visibly annoyed ‘I don’t like cinnamon, I just don’t want it’. And he tried the same thing to me. I refused (partly bc he’d been such an arse to her) . Yeah it might’ve been a freebie but I didn’t want it, neither did the other woman and he was so aggressive in asking us WHY we didn’t want it, we just don’t you don’t need to kn…

I just don’t get it, it’s so obvious why these men aren’t getting laid - because they cannot relate to women as humans, don’t even try to hide tort hatred of us and thus women don’t date them because duh why would we? Yet somehow it’s still all our fault.

This, ime its not an age thing but a mindset thing. I’ve had some of the worst pickme nonsense from women my own age (older millennials) and have met older women who are full on FDS and/or rad fem queens and vice versa. So much lib fem nonsense hinges on hating older women so I try not to buy into that crap as i think inter-generational friendships between women can be powerful.

Men hate any interest or thing that is dominated by women and coded as ‘feminine’. Spirituality fits this niche. If it’s popular amongst women men hate it, often to insane degrees. Unless they can take it over & be a superstar by doing the bare minimum with a lack of skill women would be laughed at for - see men who get a ton of praise in make up subs for doing the most basic wonky eyeliner, or men knitting some basic AF scarf etc.

I’ll accept maybe I’m 5’6” bc I haven’t actually measured myself properly but lol no way am I even close to 5’10” and I never wear heels! I don’t care about height at all and would date a shorter man BUT they ruin it by being so insecure and toxic about it. Yep it’s the ATTITUDE of so many short men not their height. I’ve dated a couple of short guys who didn’t have some fucked up complex about it and they were fine, but the ones who do ? I feel exactly the same and It’s beyond depressing. I mean is it really such a terrible thing to want, sex with someone who is intimate and passionate and sees you as a full human being not an objectified hole to use & discard? Men who think the reason you’re single is because you’re a rad fem, they’re so close getting it. I mean it IS why I’m still single but not for the reasons they think it is, it’s not because I put off men it’s because it makes me realise how terrible most men are. Once you realise how much men hate women it is harder to date them. But nah it’s just because it makes us all ugly or something.

I am so over men thinking a beard is a personality. And don’t get me started on dudes with fancy twirly moustaches. The ability to grow hair on your face does not make you interesting. And the dudes who do look hot with beards - WASH THEM & TRIM THEM and let’s face it would be hot without it so they don’t need to hide half their face & non existent chin.

I hope this too. I’m an ex lib fem and I know from that culture rad fem is looked down upon so much (because it’s actual feminism & doest revolve around dicks so it must be bad right!), they’ve had years of being indoctrinated against rad fem, told we’re ‘literal nazis’ or whatever slurs they use against us, and told to never actually read what we say. It takes time to break out of that. I hope they do. Lib fem is a cult at this point basically.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/05/21 10:52 AM

I’ve noticed the going straight for insults amongst lib fems & the general Twitter tumblr left crowd. They encourage it and it’s just so pathetic, no engagement, ‘no debate’ just call someone ugly or old and then convince yourself it’s not bullying because you’re ‘punching up’ so it’s just super brave activist praxis! It’s beyond pathetic and intellectually bankrupt.

It’s a ‘choice’ yeah but one we’re groomed into making since birth, that we’re punished for if we don’t make - in many professional and social occasions as women will be seen as being rude or disrespectful if we’re seen as ‘not making an effort’ and the years of brain washing from adverts and a culture that tells us our bare faces are ugly. How can you make a free choice in that environment? You can’t.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/05/21 02:24 PM
11

Exactly. And if your ‘empowerment’ looks exactly the same as a degrading misogynist fantasy is it really ‘empowering’?. Choice feminism is such bullshit, women can make choices that negatively impact other women and women as a whole and they don’t get a free pass because ‘choice’.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy21/05/21 02:14 PM

This. So many women don’t know what women’s faces look like without make up. Every celebrity is made up excessively. Even the ‘natural look’ is far from it and involves many products, and it’s even worse now that fillers are widespread . No wonder so many women feel ugly if you are always comparing your un-made up face to a perfectly made up and filtered to perfection picture.

So much hate for single mothers but women don’t get pregnant on their own. Where is the hate for the men who abandon their children? Single mothers all deserve a medal & a ton of money. They are doing a tough job 24/7 for no pay & everyone hates them for it, but they’re literally bringing up the next generation on their own and often making so many sacrifices for their kids and what are the fathers doing?

Yeah I dunno what’s worse the short ones who lie about it or the tall ones who think they don’t need to make any other effort bc they’re tall & are randomly smug about it, like it’s some sort of outstanding personal achievement or a replacement for having a personality or interesting hobbies.

I always subtract a few inches. I’m only 5’5” but I’ve met supposed 5’8”/5’9” guys shorter than me or the same height, I mean Maybe I’m 5’6 if I stretch but I’m no way 5’8” and I hardly ever wear heels soooo. I’m personally not that bothered about height but I am bothered about guys who are weird and insecure about it and lie. I guarantee you most men who complain women ‘don’t like short men’ it’s not the height it’s the weirdo insecure behaviour they project onto women because of it that’s the …

It doesn’t. I remember joking with a friend about some looser guy who took his gf to McDonald’s on a date but these days lol that’s better than half the ‘dates’ these guys come up with. I mean it’s got food AND tables you can sit down at so it’s far too fancy for most men. I say I’m giving up on dating but I’m not am I bc even when I was ‘dating’ did I ever get taken on an actual proper date? Ha!

I’m so glad it’s not just me who sees the smugness. I find it unbearable. You’re right a traditionalist will be honest but a woke bro will give you some kinda fake revolutionary word salad as to why you should totally sleep with him and be ok with him sleeping with other women and also sex work and kink is like totally fine. But really it’s the same thing isn’t it?

I’m reading Andrea Dworkin’s intercourse atm and it’s so good, she theorises how men think of sex with women as domination, as violent, as something they do TO us not WITH us. They desire us so much yet they hate the fact they do, they have spent so long demonising us as inferior they can’t cope with the fact they want us, they desire us, and now we’re dealing with millennia of men’s shit and inability to deal with their own fucking emotions over an issue issue they created themselves and forced…

Basically they will NEVER experience oppression based on being women. I always think of what Julie Bindel said about the ‘queens bedroom’ incident, when a man broke into the queens bedroom and she was alone with this strange man the fact she was the queen and so powerful and he was just an ordinary man didn’t matter AT ALL in that moment. Omg acoustic guitar man and bongo man are like the two worst types of men at parties. They usually have the most basic uninspired music tastes too like ‘10000000009865 tedious coffee shop acoustic covers of wonderwall and hallelujah’ that’s like the audio equivalent of porridge. God help you if you let on you like music too because now you’re in for a whole night of him desperately trying to prove his music knowledge or taste is superior. Bonus points if he also has a ‘jaunty’ hat in lieu of a p…

I’m honestly convinced this is why I have been single for most of my life. I just don’t meet enough people I click with on an intellectual level (friendship wise too, I’m more a few close friends type). I find intelligent men are often insecure around intelligent women and are always trying to prove you wrong or find something they know more about than you to knock you down a few pegs. I’ve been told before I need to act dumber to attract men. I absolutely refuse to. Maybe I do intimidate men bu…

The ‘just got out of a long term relationship not looking for anything serious’ is such a red flag isn’t it? What do men expect, a therapist and sex? Actually yes that’s exactly what they expect.

I’ve been doing salsa for years! It took me a while to stop feeling I was absolutely terrible though, I was soooo confused at first! I’m keeping on with salsa and am keeping an eye out for anything else that opens up and look fun! Maybe tap again, I did it when I was a kid.

I want to give you a billion awards for this. But I don’t want to pay Reddit & I am skint. But please have my heartfelt admiration. Nail on the head.

There is a lot of good second wave/rad fem writing on this, Greer’s Female Eunuch springs to mind. The idea that mens ideal woman is a sanitised, de-sexed ‘eunuch’ fuck toy who isn’t fully human is probably even more accurate now. She writes a lot about how men are repulsed by the reality of sexual female bodies, periods, pubes, the fact we have discharge and we get sweaty, we have stretch marks etc. I’ve been meaning to read Jeffries’ beauty and misogyny too, that’s supposed to be good.

The chasm between what they demand of women and what effort they will make themselves is basically the size of the entire known and ever expanding universe. ‘Well I’ve not had a shower since the millennium and all my body and head hair has matted into some sort of continuous bodily carpet of grossness that is sustaining it’s own fauna but I’ll freak out when a woman hasn’t spend a ton of money getting her pubes painfully ripped out’.

I once met a guy who literally STANK. Thankfully it wasn’t a proper date and he didn’t actually recognise me thank god, I just recognised him from an app and he asked me for a dance at a salsa and omg it was disgusting. Now I understand getting sweaty at salsa, it happens, I sweat a lot. BUT there is a massive difference between fresh sweat and like weeks old stale grossness. It was so bad I was trying not to gag. I’ve bumped into a few gross smelly men at salsa and other dance things. You know …

Tragic thing is their idea of ‘sky high expectations’ is basically ‘washes regularly and actually treats women like human beings’.

I once had a regrettable ONS with a guy who didn’t have pillows. He said he’d just moved and didn’t have time to buy them yet, so he stuffed some towels into a plastic bag and thought he was being a gentleman by letting me have the one bag pillow because he begged me to stay over.

I’m in the UK and it’s fucking abysmal. So many fake feminist woke blokes supporting this because it’s freedom of expression, the whole mainstream left is now pro sex ‘work’, feminists who stick up for women are now ‘SWERFS’, unis give out sex work tool kits, only fans is promoted to students (only the women though) as a nice way to help pay for uni. Culture and dating is porn soaked. I’ve never felt so hated as a woman in the UK as I do now.

Imho you absolutely did. If you don’t feel comfortable with it don’t do it. You owe no one any other explanation than that.

Men hit the wall sooner for sure , I’m hitting my late 30s now and I look good, so do my women friends, most men I know around my age look like shit in comparison, like low effort potatoes.

I love Dworkin. I’ve been moved to tears reading some of her stuff because it’s so true. I think I’m gonna go and read some Dworkin this afternoon.

Their whole movement is the patriarchy in disguise. A pretty crap disguise that’s rapidly falling off.
