I am not going to answer your question. I just want to point out that there is very few countries led by women, so if just a few of them handle covid very well, it influences the average a lot. When I first saw this fact mentioned, it was when New Zealand and Sweden were doing exceptionally well (both led by women). I don't know about New Zealand, but the situation in Sweden has worsened quite a bit since then.

Women don't date bad boys. ... It's obviously against a lot of their own interests to date someone who would harm them. I think you're misunderstanding what people mean by "bad boy". "Bad boy" doesn't necessarily mean "someone who would harm them". It could mean "someone who does graffiti", "someone who has tattoos" or "someone who drives a motorbike very fast". Those are qualities that someone could call exciting (so it fits your understanding of woman attraction), however for some reason many …

I think you might be referring to this research: https://www.economist.com/graphic-detail/2017/08/01/are-women-paid-less-than-men-for-the-same-work The gender pay gap starts at double digits, but when you control for other factors, it shrinks to 1-3%.

Sorry for being too loud No worries. Actually when I wrote the title "Why isn't there more noise ..." I meant noise from MRA. To me it seems like it's relatively important male issue and it receives less attention than other issues (which I consider less important).

That ended up better than I expected. When I read the title I thought the post would be about an ad like: "Today we celebrate IMD by offering a special 10% discount on all workshop tools and beer!"

It might be interesting to ask this in a sub of actual experts on this - psychologists or such.

Also keep in mind that when feminists talk about expressing one's feelings, they usually mean only sadness. Expressing anger, jealousy, pride or even admiration will be met with insults like incel, toxic-male or simp.

I agree, though personally I've never encountered anyone shaming anyone else for their bulge (maybe this culture is different in Europe). Regarding our bodies, I think another important issue is height (shaming / discrimination). Making fun of short men is pretty common and there is actual height discrimination in business (shorter men earn less than tall men). But the society isn't ready to talk about it yet (when you bring it up, people mostly laugh at you).

The problem here is heart beats are no indicator of life. I should know, I've had OPEN HEART SURGERY and I'm alive right now. I have a defibrillator in me too now. By the way, this thing makes a lot of sense. I think you just made me change my mind on abortion. Thanks.

But a better answer to this is averaging out the statistics on when most women find out Any idea where to find this type of data? Because this is what OP is asking for after all.

Serious question (because I don't know) - don't women feel it in some way? Like, movies show them vomiting, changing tastes and such.

I have seen an alti-LGBT+ comment on r/mensrights. It was nothing too serious, but it was bad enough that it made me uncomfortable. It was basically lumping LGBT+ activism together with feminism and complaining about them (and their ideology being forced on us and such).

What I am annoyed with the most is how the wider society (at least online) treats incels. They feel powerless, lonely and shamed. They need help the most, but what the society has for them is just bullying, more shaming and more isolation. That doesn't help the problem at all.

I said: some users in r/mensrights Not the majority, but some probably are, which is enough for more left-leaning men's rights activists to go and make their own subreddit, hence why we are here.

This is not really misandry. I can understand the sentiment. Of course as a guy, you reply: And I will not be your breadwinner, we split all expenses equally (or at least proportionally to each one's income).

I think what you said pretty much sums it up. We're more left leaning than r/mensrights For example here we might compare the discrimination of men to racism, whereas the average r/men's rights user is more right-leaning and therefore they don't care that much about racism. Or some users in r/mensrights might lump feminism and LGBT+ activism together (and complain about both). I assume that here most people are supportive of LGBT+. An interesting example is that here we might say that (gay) men …

Alright, thanks. Your sub, your call. From my point of view, the post asks: "Do women know about the power they have?" and the comment was basically: "Yes, they do." But I guess it was written in a more blunt way that made it look demonizing.

I think to an extent they are aware of it. There's many cultural references to it. I don't watch a lot of TV shows / movies, but e.g. in Game of Thrones Cersei explains to Sansa how to manipulate men.

Most people who complain a lot about "niceguys" taking rejection poorly are not quite understanding that they are seeing a reaction, in a single incident, to many accumulated rejections. It could also be just a reaction to a single rejection, but it was a very important rejection from a very important person. Your point still stands. I'm just saying that it applies even to men who don't ask women out frequently (and thus don't get rejected frequently). Because that is the real antidote to the hu…

It doesn't suck more or less because you simped for 6 months before you were rejected. Here you're telling men how they're supposed to feel. Anyway, you seem to be going off-topic. All I tried to say in my post is that I think men should be allowed to be sad / disappointed / angry, without being invalidated or insulted (as long as their behaviour doesn't harm anyone in any way). Isolation and its impact on men's mental health is a different topic.
/r/MenSupportMen24/08/21 12:36 PM

That your feelings are valid does not mean your behaviors or your thoughts about your feelings are. What do you mean by "thoughts about your feelings"? What makes them invalid? Regarding behaviours, you are of course right, if the behaviour is harmful to someone. But what I am talking about is invalidating men's feelings even if their behaviour doesn't harm anyone. It's the bullshit that follows - the brain vomit - that is, well, bullshit. "Getting rejected feels bad because...." No. Nobody care…

Then maybe that's your answer? Though I'm a short fat man, so I would probably get destroyed too and I'm not at all afraid outside alone at night. Frankly, I don't know why I'm not afraid, so I can't answer your question very well.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates03/07/21 11:36 AM

This might not be a popular opinion, but I actually think women are too afraid. Even though men are more likely to be the victim of a violent crime, it's still very unlikely. I think it's more likely to die in a car crash and neither men nor women are especially afraid of riding in cars. So I'm more curious why are women so much afraid (of strangers at night).

This is one of the things that bother me the most about gender inequality. I'm relatively "moderate" male rights advocate. I can understand most feminists. I can see that in many areas women are disadvantaged over men. But it really grinds my gears seeing how almost everyone completely ignores male disadvantage. Even worse is that as soon as you mention it, they see you as some alt-right misogynist Trump supporter.

Edit: Sorry for the wall of text :D He did say most assault victims were also men though. Yes, but it looked like he got this information by assuming "more murder victims = more violence victims", which made me distrust it. You provided a reliable-looking source, so I trust you more. You're deliberately ignoring the fact that sexual violence is by far the rarest form among all types Yes, to show that the full picture is complex and taking just a small part out of it can paint a distorted picture…

Maybe it's not oppressive towards either gender. Maybe it's just a social ill caused by poverty and a lack of resources for the people who need them. Yeah, I think that people throw around the word "oppression" too easily. In my head, "oppression" has to be something systematic, organized. The crime rate isn't something systematic, it's something that comes as a consequence of many different variables.

Thank you for providing the data. I don't get what your point is. He already told you that men are more often victims of assault than women. First he talked only about murder rates, but feeling safe outside isn't only about murders. Caring only about murders is ignorant to the other dangers people face outside. Then he said that "if women are assaulted more they will die more", implying that there is a direct relation between being assaulted and being murdered, which is not true. It would be tot…

if women are assaulted more they will die more, unless you believe women are made of steel. Yes, if you ignore the fact that women are probably victims of different types of assaults, which are less likely to be fatal. And you shouldn't ignore that, it makes you look ignorant. When you read statistics, you need to be aware of all the nuences of where the data comes from. The numbers can tell you something, but they don't tell you the full story.

If I may contribute with my humble opinion, I think that generally the question of safety is exaggerated. Assaults on the street happen waaaay less often than people think, regardless of who is the victim. In other words, there is not many reasons to be actually afraid to be outside in the night (though it somewhat depends on the location). This proves that women are not oppressed or devalued. No, this doesn't prove anything. It's just one example of men being treated unfairly. Not to mention th…

Maybe if you fill the complaint with that department, they will know your name but they won't tell anyone else? That's how it works in my company - you can go to Human Resources with any problem you have - they will know who you are but they will not tell anyone else in the company. However, it depends on how well this works in your company.

I agree with 95% of that! The remaining 5% is that I personally don't see myself as exactly left-wing. But I'd still much rather be in a left-wing community than an alt-right or anti-women community.

imagine a whole society that prefer virgins? It was like that in the old days and we all know if wasn't that fun for women to not have a choice. If everybody wants something it becomes the rule and some people will suffer. That's a weird argument. I mean, if everyone was gay, the society would quickly collapse too, but we don't condemn being gay. So I believe the criticism is towards the risk that if this idea comes back to many males minds, women fear they will once again be trapped. Ah, OK, so…

I almost missed the line, thanks for pointing it out. I am in this subreddit to advocate for men's rights, but I am aware that there's many areas in which women are disadvantaged more than men. Claiming otherwise makes us look very out of touch.

I think when self-identified feminists come here asking about this group, we should always start by giving them the benefit of the doub Yeah, call me naive, but I don't think all self-proclaimed feminists literally hate us. Assuming that won't get us anywhere.

OK, I suppose I didn't know what is a sexual preference before. However, I didn't compare those two anywhere. The term "kinkshaming" covers both kinks and sexual preferences. It would be less confusing if there was both "kinkshaming" and "sexual-preferences-shaming" to distinguish the two cases.

Preference = what someone prefers If someone prefers some kink, than that is their sexual preference. It's just definitions, so it doesn't matter much in the big picture, but this is what it is.

It is viewed negatively because it usually goes hand-in-hand with shaming women who are not virgins. And that is not okay. Yeah, but isn't this stereotyping a little bit? "It usually goes hand-in-hand with ... " doesn't seem like a good reasoning to me.

Wait, I just thought of another reply (I said this was a thought-provoking topic). What if the preference is based not on purity, but on personal values. As in "I want to date someone for whom sex is so important that they wait until marriage." It's completely OK to have a dating preference based on personal values / beliefs (e.g. "I won't date racists." or "I only date Jews."). Some people have the belief that sex is something sacred and should only be done with someon very special. If someone …

And what would you call it if someone said that a woman had become impure because she had had a partner previously? This is shaming of course. But there is a leap between "I prefer virgins." and "Women with sexual experience are impure." It is similar to the leap between "I prefer tall men." and "Short men are inferior." There isn't any ideas about tall meaning they are good and short meaning they are bad. I don't know about that ... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Height_discrimination Also there…
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/03/21 12:28 PM

So the problem is that men who want to be with virgins are seen as shaming women who aren't virgins. This is debatable of course, but I wouldn't call this "shaming". You wouldn't say that someone preferring tall men is shaming short men (or calling them 'inferior' or something like that).
