THIS WAS MY EX TOO. I always thought he was stoic, but actually he just didn’t care about me or anyone else except himself.

I don’t think so, I don’t know you but it may stem from anxiety. I’ve been scared of hurting other before, and it was when my anxiety and paranoid thoughts were at their worst. It depends on context.

Any super boring sports movies like We Are the Titans, etc. sorry if you like sports movies but it just doesn’t show me depth of a person if that’s your FAVORITE.

How do I deal with them? I don’t. I think it’s important to talk about those topics. I have no issue if we disagree with certain ideas, but they need to be willing to have an intelligent discussion. I have certain dealbreakers - they need to be pro-choice, anti-racist, feminist ally, LGBTQ ally (I’m bisexual and dated women in the past), etc. it’s a huge red flag if they refuse to reveal their opinions, because it typically means they know you will not want to see them again because their views …

I am very intelligent too, went to a top tier college and successful at my nursing job, curious about the world and I don’t like small talk. I’ve had trouble with OLD for similar reasons. I’ve found that men try to neg me for being intelligent, and undermine my intelligence and knowledge of many topics. I always next any man who tries to make fun of me or mock me for knowing a lot about something, or for getting excited about a certain topic. They can have superficial, dumbed down conversations …

If you’re having these issues the first year of your relationship, think about how it’ll be 2, 5, 10 years from now. He should be still on his best behavior at this point and NOT looking at other women on social media especially after you’ve expressed that you don’t like it. I say dump. There are a lot of guys out there who don’t do that, or who do it single but would gladly stop doing it if they knew it would make you happy. Don’t settle for a guy who follow insta thotties.

I only date men who are interested in me now, and actively show it. Are there fewer options? Yes. Many men like to have the woman take initiative, because they’re lazy and they’re used to Pickmeishas doing that and taking the lead. But it’s reassuring now that whoever I’m dating is actively pursuing me, it’s freeing and takes off a lot of the pressure I held on myself for no reason.

I fully agree with this. I often go through phases of dating where I’ll be talking to multiple men at once, and then sometimes just one. But even if I’m talking to just one guy, I don’t let myself be bothered about if he’s talking to other women. HVM make their intentions clear very soon into dating/courting and until I see action, I assume most men are full of crap and “spinning” multiple girls. It’s a bit cynical, but it protects me from investing too soon.

I don’t see why not. I think employment and living situation are especially good to know before a first date, because I don’t want to waste time getting to know someone who has no plan to get a job any time soon and will probably make me pay half on the first date bc they’re broke lol. I also value education/intelligence so I usually make sure whoever I go on a date with has had a college education or a plan to go to college, just a personal preference. Those a pretty basic questions that you ca…

I really don’t like the form of false intimacy that dating apps create. If I met someone in real life, they would have to flirt IN PERSON, WITH REAL WORDS to impress me. They would have to ask for my number. THEN, we would maybe text or call and go on a real date. Many LVM use dating apps as means to find easy sex. They don’t even have to impress someone in person. They just message you for a couple days and expect that you’ll sleep with them without even seeing if you guys have real chemistry. …

My ex would never buy me flowers, or even treat me to a meal. He was horribly stingy, and would Venmo me even if we split an appetizer at a restaurant. But he would drop thousands on new electronics, the newest iPhone or TV or PlayStation. Run sis. Stinginess bleeds into the rest of the relationship, and it shows that they don’t truly care about you. You deserve better, we all do.

I started dating my LVM ex 3 months after he broke up with his ex-fiancé of 4 years. Guess when our relationship ended? 4 years after that. And he starting dating a new girl about a month after we broke up. A string of back-to-back long-term relationships are a red flag. Even one LTR is a red flag, and there would have to be a really good reason for it ending like their ex died or something. Men love using their new girl as an emotional clutch, and they do not take time alone to reflect and self…

I have a similar situation. I asked a few of my male friends, to get a “male” perspective, and almost all said that I am intimidating - in a good way. Take the ghosting as a compliment. You’re leveling up and little boys know they can’t waste your time anymore! They’re all little sissy LVMs. I had a guy who I had been talking to for months ghost me when my mom died. They literally have zero shame. But I know that anyone who would ghost me is not worth my time anyway.

I took an attachment style quiz when I was in my LTR with a LVM who breadcrumbed me and was very low effort. My needs were 100% not met and it made me constantly questioning if he cared about me at all, making me clingy and try even harder for his attention and love. At the time, it deemed me anxious-attachment. Since I’ve been single, and have had a few healthy flings with men who have actually pursued me and did not breadcrumb, and I’ve had time to self reflect and focus on myself, I retook th…

I’m 24 and both I and my close friend ended our long term relationships with LVMs. It is freeing!! My friend in my same situation keeps saying that she should have been engaged by now and that she feels like a failure. I fully agree with this. I would consider myself attractive, especially now that my skin is clear from doing accutane and I got into really good shape from spin class. I get more attention from men and it’s almost all negative attention. I’ve had guys say “you’re too hot to date but I’ll fuck you” ....Cool thanks??? I’m an OB nurse - there are over 30 different vulva “types”, some with folded labia, some “meatier”, some with longer inner labia, etc. everyone is different, and that’s ok! Your vagina doesn’t have to look like a porn star’s. No one’s does unless they’ve had a labiaplasty (surgery to altar your labia’s app reactance) like most porn stars have. I’ve seen probably 1000’s of vulvas, and it’s made me appreciate mine more since everyone is so different and unique.

YES. I was in a relationship with someone for 4 years and I never listened to my gut. About 2 years into the relationship, I started having horrible anxiety and actually had panic attacks a few times. I had anxiety at night and couldn’t sleep alone. The panic attacks only happened when I was at his place. I also could not stop picking and chewing at my nails the entire relationship, even though I had tried everything to stop. I didn’t connect that it was the relationship causing the anxiety and …

Personally, I’ve realized that my type and the guys I have a “spark” with are toxic. They’re usually emotionally unavailable and I confuse that for having chemistry, as crazy as that sounds. I’ve gone on dates with guys who I didn’t have an initial spark with and they actually ended up being great. You know yourself best. Have you had a lot of toxic relationships? That may mean that you’re attracted to unhealthy people and you don’t feel chemistry with healthy ones.

I think there’s a difference between being the most attractive vs HVM attractive. HVM take care in their appearance/body, i.e. grooming, health, fashion. This makes someone attractive but they may not be the hottest guy in the room who simply lucked out on their genes.

I couldn’t agree more. My sex drive was through the roof before discovering this sub. I used to have a lot of casual sex. I always felt shitty after, though, because I personally was never satisfied and it was always disappointing. Now, I have zero interest in sex, especially kinky sex. Now I only think about love making with an attentive partner if I think about sex at all.

YES. I have my septum pierced. I get a lot of attention from men because of it. I notice a difference in the type of guys I get attention from when I have it tucked/hidden vs when it’s visible. I absolutely get this as a fellow nurse. People really expect you to go above and beyond what is actually appropriate and then get pissed if you have physical/emotional boundaries at work. Honestly it’s fine, it leaves me more room for time with friends and hobbies. I used to book my schedule full of OLD dates in hopes of finding HVMs but it was so exhausting and depressing.

DO NOT LOSE FRIENDS OVER A GUY. You start dating a guy and he wants you to spend more time with him than your friends? Next him. If you ever feel like more than 20% of your life/happiness is related to your relationship, reevaluate the relationship. I know so many women who slowly lost all of their friends because they started spending every waking hour with their bf in their early 20s. You will most likely break up, and then you will have no support system.

Being bitter means that you’re growing, it’s ok to be a little bitter. You’re realizing how much men have gotten away with. I started to get VERY bitter when I first started watching those videos, going on here all the time, and reading “Why Men Love Bitches”. I was so disappointed on every date I went on. I hadn’t been on OLD for years (LTR that ended recently). In 2016, I would match with cute guys left and right and they would always initiate the conversation, sometimes it was creeps but often it was genuine guys. I’d go on dates and they would not end with the guy expecting a ONS. NOW it’s horrible!!! Bumble, Hinge, and Tinder all have the same guys and they all match with you on each one but it’s CRICKETS. and if a guy does initiate the conversation, it’s a dumb question and they put zero eff…

GREAT advice!! I’m going to start doing that at work actually lol. Sometimes the dads do such a poor job I just start doing it for them because I get impatient and feel bad for the mom but I feel like that only encourages them to do less.

I used to think I needed to have sex to know if we had sexual compatibility. Then I realized after a while that “compatibility” was just if the guy cared enough to get me off or at least try and be open to criticism. I understand now that I can figure that out without having sex.

Men will put out all the stops to try to sleep with you, too. Don’t say that they are HVM by doing the bare MINIMUM of decency (pay for two dates, give you flowers, listens to you, doesn’t sit on his phone on the date). I’ve had soooo many experiences where an assumed HVM is actually a LVM in disguise and it didn’t show until a couple of months into dates when they started getting more comfortable, or after we had sex (usually too soon bc I was impatient, my bad).

You have so much time!! I’m a Postpartum nurse and I’ve even had moms in their late 40’s with their first baby. Is it harder to get pregnant as you get older and the recovery is longer? Potentially, not always, and medicine has advanced so much that if you want a baby at 45, you have a really high likelihood of that happening.

Parks and Rec! There are a lot of healthy relationships. Ann Perkins is a total Pickmeisha during the beginning of the show but then levels up as the show goes on which is fun to watch. Also a lot of the men are considerate and not fuckboys in the relationships at all.

I was 22 in a long term relationship and only recently ended it. I’m 24 now. If I could go back and tell myself to break things off then, I would. I wasn’t entirely unhappy, but I was a pickmeisha and I wasn’t happy. He did not put in the effort I know I deserved now. Shushed me when I was talking because he wanted to listen to the song he was playing on his phone, as if my presence is less important than his shitty Mac Miller song (no offense Mac Miller, Rest In Peace). Any time, under any circumstance, a man shushes you, it’s a red flag. As women, we are generally taught at a young age to have poise and to understand social situations better than men. Cleveland, OH. LOTS of ultra-midwestern guys who are into hunting, IPAs, and chilling with their bros. Many are well educated, but the high achieving guys are almost always fuckboys. As many midwestern cities, though, there are a decent amount of potentially HVMs, but not very attractive (at least not my type, but to each their own). Sort of depends on if you like a guy who owns 10 flannel shirts and has a beard.

I wouldn’t recommend hormonal birth control, because everyone reacts differently. I actually have a higher sex drive when I’m on hormonal birth control.
