False dichotomy. Experience is of course infinitely more valuable, but this is a way to enhance practicing via studying and remind you of things where you're weak or that you've forgotten. It's also less about memorization and more about "have I mastered this concept (via experience)?" If not, go out and practice in the real world--get experience. You're essentially saying, "Why read TRP? All you need is experience." We read to get new insights, to remind and reinforce old ones, and to then brin…

This statement that sounds more profound than it actually is due to its musical phrasing would be an example of something akin to the Rhyme as Reason effect, which I remembered via this software. There's a host of other practical knowledge that may not fall under the specific masculine/feminine purview of TRP theory, but is still important to your personal development in any number of areas in your life, which ultimately make you become more RP.

I started with this one, which encapsulates his overall philosophy/ideas. Reading it was a sober psychadelic experience. http://www.amazon.com/Book-Taboo-Against-Knowing-Who/dp/0679723005/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1434311499&sr=8-1&keywords=alan+watts After that, I'd listen to any of his lectures on youtube where the subject strikes your interest. He had a captivating speaking style. As for his other books, I like all of them--"The Way of Zen" is a little more scholarly, but a great introduction to…

Whether you believe in the literal story or not (I don't), one of the lessons of Jesus' life was that he did not think of himself as a victim, even when he was betrayed, nor did he think the outcasts of society were victims either--that we all have the ability to transform our lives. That, in fact, there is something noble and powerful about being the underdog. Similarly, the lesson of Job is that we all suffer injustice, but we don't have to be bitter about it. Your TRP journey is meant to acce…

I don't intend to preach, we all find fulfillment in different ways, but I do see one way that resonates with my own life and that which countless independent cultures found true. The hedonist, a la Joaquin Phoenix's character in "The Master", is very well represented on TRP. I think such a person would rightly ignore my post unless it resonated with them too.

You may be right about LTRs. In the way you describe them, it's more strategic selfishness than blind selflessness, what we may consider to be pure philantropy or love that is so often understood by the feminine as weakness. What I'm getting at is the way to become a master of your woman's desire for you is to get out of your head and into theirs...in which case you've become selfless.

I think what you're saying is that the only way to hack woman's primal ego (and therefore be successful in the sexual marketplace) is by displaying egotism. If so, I agree with you and that too resonates with my experience. We may be sort of parsing words, too, because as Robert Greene would say, no seducer can be egotistical--you have to think your way inside your target. Sometimes, in seduction, you have to appear more egotistical than you necessarily may be (to display attractive dominance/po…

Blindly giving away charity is often not good because A) scarcity of your resources B) what's best for the other person is often not what they want (or think they want). You don't help yourself by indulging your ego, and you don't help others by indulging theirs. In the same way, an alpha can lead women by not giving into their moods and impulses, but by giving them what they need, which is often directly denying them what they want in that moment.

Something I've been thinking about the past several weeks. Need to sit down and make a standalone post for it. Cliff's notes would be that if you look at any given ancient wisdom--Buddhism/Hinduism/Stoicism/Christianity/etc--one of the unifying factors in all of them is ego control, that one of the only ways to sustain your happiness is to think outside yourself, to not pursue selfish endeavors at cost to your fellow humans. A few pull quotes include "That which is not good for the bee-hive cann…

There is something inherently rejuvenating to your energy and motivation when you truly commit yourself to a morality. I have gone through long stretches of complete amoral behavior, and I can see how earlier in life when I was extremely moral it was more blissful ego ignorance, but now I feel I have built my sense of morality from the ground up after destroying it. If you're looking for an order in which to prioritize your new habits, I recommend basing it off of Maslow's hierarchy of needs. I personally came into a big stumbling block when I wanted to go after the higher needs (the realm of art and spirituality) while ignoring shoring up many of my lower needs, and this created a long, tough struggle with many stops and swings because I didn't have my career or social circle as well in place. Congrats on being the first person to correctly identify the reference. I profess not to know much about the Gnostics, other than they sound more interested in finding a naturalistic path to the divine than just accepting the dogma others lay out. It may be like zen in that way (though many would argue, convincingly, that the zen tradition is not a continuation of Buddhism but a rejection of it, and so "Zen Buddhism" would be a misnomer--that is 90% of the fighting on /r/zen). I'm afraid you'll find Buddhism is its own set of chains, but like other religions, it is far from devoid of value. You use the phrase cock carousel as if the pussy parade you seek is of any more "honorable" or "loyal" value. You'll be as loyal as the women you deride. You see something you want, and have to ability to take, and you go for it, ignoring that "loyalty" you profess to have. Made no such claim. Not sure what the argument is about.

Indeed, unless you want to take the gamble that you will be her best option indefinitely, which will require you dating a solid 1-2 points below your SMV. If you're an 8, committing to a 6 is still a risk, but much less than committing to a female 8. If you want an 8 as a LTR, better become a 9-10 male. Even then, as you say, the legal ramifications of marriage are probably not worth it.

Moreover, the biggest factor in your success is your social skills. Sharing some technical knowledge gives you allies that aren't necessarily competitive with you socially, and in fact strengthens your social position, leading to more success in the long run anyway than if you were an introverted knowledge-hoarder.

According to Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers, Asians are so hard-working and dominant at math because being a rice farmer was hard as hell, all year long. The land in China is very difficult to farm, and there's no harvest season like Americans and other cultures had. They also had to become experts in irrigation to survive.

I think 33 Strategies of War was an attempt by Greene to fully flesh out some of the 48 Laws that he felt could have been overlooked. In that book, he details some of the "formless" strategies, which is really about being adaptable to every individual situation.

You don't have to have a 50's style relationship for your woman to be happy, you just have to have a higher SMV than her and take the lead every step of the way. 80% of men have mediocre at best SMV, and much of the 20% has no ability or desire to lead.

Office Politics 101, crucial if you are starting at the bottom in an organization. My favorite illustration from this law, though, is about Winston Churchill and how he was able to make fun of his own painting when a collector critiqued it. Nature has a way of balancing things out. The pendulum will swing back away from feminism, I already see it happening in real life discussions and on facebook. I agree with your analysis. Given this current paradigm, you are unlikely to be able to position yourself as a buyer unless you are a 9-10 SMV man or you are willing to "sell" to women with <6 SMV. So the act of "being the prize" requires you first make yourself a valuable asset first. You cannot trick a woman into thinking you are more valuable than you are for an extended period of time. You are right that Machiavellianism is more of a feminine power form than masculine, but that's why adapting the tactics into a masculine frame can be so powerful. The ones you have a problem with are shortcuts to obtaining power more efficiently. This seems to fly in the face of your own personal integrity, which is fine, but the laws of power are amoral, and chastising them as immoral is sort of irrelevant.

A great point in Sex God Method is that women do want emotions, but they don't want emotions without dominance. Your gifts should come from a dominant, rewarding frame. Most gifts from betas are supplicating, "please love me despite myself". Your gifts should say, "I'm the shit, but this is effortless for me to give, and you have earned it because you've been a good little girl."

I lost a lot of social capital after my most recent monk mode, though I had been losing some momentum anyway, so I saw it as a strategic time in the long run. Alphas have tons of female orbiters who show up wherever they hang out with other alphas. Whether they fuck them or not, these women are valuable. Female orbiters function for alphas in the same ways beta orbiters function for women--social proof to outsiders, political power within the group, and a buffer zone for sexual drought periods to ensure those needs get met.

Same with me, there have been two distinct periods of 6 months in my life where I have done this and come back reborn, slingshotting me to much better places in life. However, to prolong or repeat this isolation process too much is ultimately damaging if you desire power. To that end, these periods are appropriate in response to a need for intense concentration, not out of just escapism.

This is overly simplistic and conservative. Letting interesting stories and things about you come out in natural conversation flows can often pique the curiosity of people, add extra mystery and dimension to you, confound a person's preconceptions of you and make them want to know more about you, and build rapport if it mirrors their tastes, sensibilities or interests.

Same with me. Pre-TRP I was moderately successful at work, after taking the pill I was bitter and very unpopular at work. Disagree completely, while 48 Laws touches on fearlessness, the depth in which that specific topic is explored is unique to 50. I found 48 more educational, but 50 way more motivating and envigorating to start putting the laws into practice.

I can vouch for half this list being excellent. To love yourself in a masculine way is to challenge yourself, to look after your own long-term well-being, to turn your rationality onto yourself and listen to that inner voice that is always telling you what you know you need to do--not necessarily what you feel like doing. I also think most women are innately aware of how they make decisions emotionally, even if they don't consciously realize that. Remember gentlemen, "fat acceptance" for women is the same as men's unofficial "laziness acceptance". Accepting each other's mediocrity is extremely popular among the 80% of both sexes. Yes, part of the feminine's job is to test the will & skill of the masculine (hence, "feminism is a cultural shittest"). Since the masculine grows through challenge, a comfortable society creates an environment for soft masculinity, which will get enveloped by the feminine, which thrives in conditions that grant it high levels of freedom and relaxation. It's a logical fallacy to say that because the government reasons for outlawing it were bullshit means it's beneficial for you, or that because it occurs naturally it's good for you. The answer? You're underestimating how much some mothers lock up their self-esteem in the success of their children. There is some variety there. I've found mothers who are or have been drug users often have a much greater disconnect from their children than women who haven't.

I've come to similar conclusions on a similar path. The cosmology/stories/symbols are designed to placate dumb people who can't think for themselves, but the underlying wisdom is very relevant. Now that I'm older, I can see that some of the most genuinely good, healthy, happy and gasp intelligent individuals I've ever known were from the churches I grew up going to. There's a fine line to tread when discussing that men are subjected to disadvantages and are victims by technical definition. Because simultaneously, in order for men to grow they need to learn there is effectively no disadvantage that can't either be overcome or creatively worked around to achieve a level of happiness, not to say it's easy. The insane discipline it takes to be at your absolute physical peak (and mental, in order to compete with the top of the top) is extremely masculine. Elite athletes get paid millions to do what most men would love to do. Hell, the idolization itself of these men by men is what makes them "men among men". Obviously there are many other realms of masculinity in which other men are masters, but to pretend athletes are not elite men, now that's what's silly.

I've been removing the word for my vocab, struggling in certain situations where I still needed to express regret (even if I didn't feel it), such as in business. When dealing with higher-ups or clients, I still never say the word "sorry" if I can't meet a request or whatever. I say "unfortunately". "Unfortunately, the deadline's already passed." This seems to work well for me.

We men can spend our whole lives trying to find someone who loves us like Mom, women want someone who loves them like Dad. Unfortunately, only Mom can love us like Mom, and we were taught by society (including our moms) to try to love our partners like a mom instead of like a dad. As we grow as men, we should be focusing on how to become a better manifestation of a good dad's masculine style of love, which is a commitment to truth, discipline, and emotional strength.

The first two of your questions are ignorant, the third is misguided. This is meant to be one example, not the argument itself. That statement was obviously just a typical emotional breakup line from OP more than an absolute fact. As for 3, if you've been browsing RP so long, you'll notice there is more talk about how men must learn to take full responsibility for the success & failure of the relationship. Yeah, withdrawing all attention & saying the fewest words necessary is the most powerful punishment. Not only is it even more hurtful to a woman than saying something negative, it demonstrates higher value and prevents you from giving her any ammo to use against you or to damage your reputation.

There's always improvements to be made in your house of game. You may have a decent overall house, but there may have been an overlooked patching/piping problem that caused it to flood this time. Don't overreact and throw out everything about yourself/your personality, just really look back at your relationship and be honest about where you failed. That's what you need to take responsibility for fixing. It sounds like you're on the right track overall.

I'd take this and simplify it further--never complain about anything to ANY woman unless absolutely, 100% necessary. Only your mother will sympathize, but you should train yourself to not count on her regardless.

Alcohol is actually a good analogy, because theoretically it is fine and life-enhancing in moderation, but society lies to us all the time about what is "moderation" and what is acceptable. Society encourages alcoholism BIG TIME by changing or ignoring the definition of dependency on it. Great post, overall agree. But when properly motivated, women do have great skills in the art of manipulation, which requires a certain level of empathy, as well as an unwitting audience. This is a big reason why being aware of her shit-tests puts you ahead of the curve, and why blowing them up thrills a woman--finally, she's found a man she can't easily manipulate.

I believe a man has to arrive at this completely by his own accord. Besides women being generally ineffective leaders, the biggest inherent problem in a woman trying to make a man more assertive is that she will always fundamentally know that she "made" him, and she'll always sense a power over him. There's not a legitimacy to his throne in her eyes. She wants a man who's already made himself and who has blown up her shittests since they met. I'm about to have to end it, and I'll get back to spinning plates with ease again. My interactions with women just make sense now. The bitterness came, persisted andt turned into defiance from realizing that I really had been sold lies for such a long time, and how society continues to pamper women while absolutel…

Agreed, these were the most entertaining and palatable forms of TRP that didn't compromise the message at all. What I love about them, and TRP in general, is that by getting from a wide variety of authors who generally agree the same principles but differ on the application, you can triangulate your own style. You have married guys like Dalrock and Rollo, romantic nomads like Pook, swinging players like Patrice, and they all make sense together...and then you emerge with the brand that suits you…

While I agree that women's aversion to weights in the gym is undesirable, I analyse the situation differently. The main reason they don't do weights is that they're too lazy. Wanting to avoid the Incredible Hulk look is secondary. Agreed, although I've never once seen a She-Hulk looking gal in a globo-gym. Every girl who spends consistent time with weights that I've seen is usually tone as fuck, with an amazing ass and/or abs.

You cannot essentially blame women for being choosier about their partners. Ironically, you're "hamstering". You can't ask for sex, get rejected, and then get pissed because the "ball is in her court." If a woman doesn't want to have sex with you, she's not trying to make a power play, she just doesn't want to have sex with you. You're projecting my emotions here, I'm not blaming women, nor am I mad at them when they don't want to have sex with me. I've gone through periods of life of being extr…

Yeah, and nearly every time men and women don't have sex, it's because the woman has rejected them. Whoever has the choice has the power. Your argument is tantamount to "every time a car is sold there is a buyer and a seller, therefore it's just as easy to sell a car as it is to buy a car". Men have to sell themselves to get and k…

The "Terminator" mistake was one I made when I first swallowed the pill. It was an overcorrection from my previously very needy/supplicative behavior, and it has hurt me in my workplace and my other social groups. Through the grapevine, and in a case or two to my face, I got significant backlash. At first I held frame and said "fuck outside opinions", but if you're trying to socially navigate and dominate, outside opinions DO matter. Jack Donovan's "Way of Men" breaks down masculinity as having evolved from our functions, as men, in groups. r/TRP is essentially an internet tribe. As men, there's something to be said for finding and building your own gang that can only be done in person. Because while one man can conquer much, a group of us can do so much more. TRP and similar groups of men in real life are meant to help each other when the other falters. The strength of the wolf lies in the pack, and the strength of the pack…

The problem for men (not in a victim way, but as our fundamental playing field) is that there high value girls who are attracted/interested will do everything they can to make sure you don't know they're checking you out, waiting for you to make a first move, because women can NOT handle rejection. The girls who show you attention first probably have disproportionately lower value, hence willing to take a risk, and hence your lack of interest.

Paraphrasing Jack Donovan here, buta large part of the conflict is that feminism focuses on trying to create "good men", not men who are "good at being men". TRP is focused on becoming better at being a man because that is what is more important in all aspects of life.

It's true. The slut I've been pumping for a couple months as a solid #2 in my plate rotation (never top spot) only likes me when I don't contact her for a week and only say some variant of "come over, I'm gonna blow my load on you". The flip side of this is that while they need you to be a winner, they need to not feel like losers in the process. This is where the provider/beta qualities get blended into LTRs. She wants to feel like you're letting her win sometimes, but that you will always flip on the dominance with ease when it matters. Be a benevolent ruler. Nice post. It's interesting to contrast it to Jack Donovan's "Way of Men", where he says masculinity is Strength, Courage, Mastery, and Honor as it relates to gang/group mentality. Strength being your physical prowess/power (we can also include resources here), courage being your "will-to"/how much you overcome fear, mastery being technical/specialized skills, and honor being the willingness to fight for your group and yourself.

Before I found this sub, for the past two years I was trying to be a more "classical" alpha in this mold. The world failed me every time I did things for the "right" reasons by seeing me as weaker and keeping me at a lower status. Like many of us, I'm ready to embrace the Machiavellian side because I'm not an idiot and I'm tired of losing. There's a much, much greater value in being perceived to be honorable, as well as feared, than actually being honorable.

What he's saying is that most of the work of weightloss is done in the programming stage so that you expend minimal willpower maintaining a caloric deficit. The same way that habits become easier the more you do them because there's less effort expended on making up your mind. Take intermittent fasting. Alphas have the luxury of options in both mate selection and timing that betas do not. Could the argument not be made that in the same way we do not understand how their hormones affect their body, they truly cannot understand how our hormones affect our body and urges? Sadly, many feminists seem to think they know our struggles while claiming we could never know theirs. Older women seem to better appreciate the need for male bonding, as well as the differences in sex drives.

I'm not completely there yet, but the most powerful men ignore feminism, transcend the victim mentality, maintain their frame, and keep women in line.

Very enlightening post. This is why The Godfather series is so powerful and speaks to the masculine, the series has almost nothing to do with the actual money involved and way more to do with power struggles influenced by honor. It's used to manipulate stronger parties into reactionary anger & defensive postures (the Corleones fall prey to this), it's given away as a bargaining chip (when Vito forgoes revenge for Sonny) only to be reclaimed, and in part 2, when Fredo's ego undermines the family …

Thanks for helping shed some light and bring some attention to this. Stoicism is nice, but it doesn't need to be isolationism. The best man I can be isn't one that doesn't engage in relationships, but is the strong one in them.

Gotta say I'm not a huge fan of that article. Seems a bit fear-mongery to me.

Using the differences between masculinity and femininity to become the best version of yourself and get what you want in a feminized society.

Agreed. If Christmas has been "ruined", it's goddamn time to draw a line in the sand with your mom.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
